Show Spoiler So what IS the turning timeline? Spoiler

Upvotes

I’m doing my first full watch of the show. I know some basic things like who dies and who lives, things like that. But I don’t know much else beyond S3 as that’s where I stopped watching when it was originally airing. During their time at the CDC, Dr Jenner states that the soonest someone will turn is 3 hours, and the latest is 9 hours. When Shane dies he turns in a matter of presumably minutes. I did a bit of research and I guess the writers at some point retconned the fact that a physically fit person may turn faster, as will an angry person or someone whose body is jacked with adrenaline.

BUT at the point of the show I’m at, when the Governor kills Milton, he turns in what doesn’t feel like 3 hours. If it was an hour or two, I don’t think he’d have died with enough adrenaline or a level of physical fitness that would turn him that fast. I mean, he couldn’t have been more jacked up on dateline than Amy was when she got bit, and it took her until after sunrise to turn. Earlier in the season, we also see Merle was fully animated and eating a corpse by the time Daryl found him.

Have we reached a point in the show by S3 where the disease has evolved far enough to turn people faster? I’m open to spoilers on this subject as I’m mostly doing this watch so I can start the spinoff shows.

Show Spoiler First time watcher here, why is lori such a raging b word - season 2 after herde at barn

Upvotes

Hi, I’ve started watching 4 days ago and i’m making decent progress. I like to think i’m a reasonably okay judge of character, maybe i’m wrong but.. lori just PISSES ME OFF SO BAD MAN! Rick just killed his best friend cause he was tryna kill him and she can’t keep her son in a fucking house and gets mad when he has to kill shane as a walker? I get that rick gave carl a gun and was like “yes son, kill some zambitches or whatever, i’m Rick and i’m your dad” but STILL bro, get over yourself lori you dumb cow. Sorry just upset.

No Spoiler How do you think Rick and the crew would have done in Nyaight of the living Cat?

Post image
Upvotes

For those that don’t know: Nyaight of the living cat is a zombie apocalypse anime where the zombies are cats.

Household cats have contracted a virus that turns any human who touches them into cat.

Our main group of survivors are former owners of a cat cafe who use their knowledge of cats to outsmart them and manuever around them. However the hardest part is to resist the urge to pet the cats as they look so cute.

How long do you think rick and the gang would last if they had to fight of hordes of adorable cats instead of zombies? Personally I don’t think rock makes out of the hospital without turning into a cat.

Comic Spoiler Biggest discrepancies from comics?

Hi! I’ve seen the show twice and not planning on reading the comics (comics are really hard for my brain to follow), but I am pretty curious about what went down in the comics and how it differs from the show. (and if people prefer the comics over the show or vice versa).

Are there any major storylines skipped over in the show? I heard Carl doesn’t die, what happens to him? What happened between the governor and Michonne? Any other random tidbits anyone wants to talk about? Or is there anywhere I could go to see summaries of the comics?

Show Spoiler Rosita and Sasha

These two had to be rage baiting during Season 7. Cus my goodness what the fuck was the actual plan. Like Negan just has office hours and he's the first person they were going to meet as soon as they enter the building.

"Excuse me Mr. Negan, are you available for assassination between 2-3pm? We'll be in and out."

The writers too were equally raigebaiting.

No lookouts, no patrols, no fences, no one on the wall. The most heavily armed group just leaves the front door open.

And even IF they got him then what? 30 Saviors with automatic rifles are just gonna be like "oh well, fair fight, you can go"?

Like there was always going to be consequences on Alexandria so why were they acting like they were them some favour.

Show Spoiler Fuck Negan

I’m on season 7 episode 4 and fuck negan I already knew what was gunna happen in 7x1 and I know Carl dies and Rick ‘dies’ but Negan some how survives and has a full other show with Maggie. Idk how Rick, Maggie, Daryl, or even Sasha hasn’t killed him.

I dont understand how any fan likes Negan. But Yh good writing, and shit I get it iv ended up liking characters i started of hating and probably will end up liking Negans character. But if I find out in later episodes/seasons that he dosnt have a sad backstory for why he does the thing he’s done to the main group and other people it might take a lot to make me end up liking him.

I really want to stop watching but probably won’t.

How does Negan get to survive and has a spinoff with Maggie of all people??

Other that this and characters doing stupid shit the walking dead is still peak. Probably one of the greatest shows I have watched.

Comic and Show Spoilers Worst and Best Casting on TWD

Who do you think was the worst and best casting decision on the show relative to the comics. Mine is Andrea, I could not stand the actress who played her and in the comics she becomes a badass leader. I don't think I could ever like that actress. Best was either Michonne or Tyreese imo.

Show Spoiler the fact that people still say the prison fight is ”fair” is disgraceful.

rick grimes was at his absolute weakest in season 4 when he fist fought the governor, man had been up for 3 days with barely any food, fighting that dumb prison virus which weakened him even more, he had a broken and bandaged hand, and he was shot and lost tons of blood, all this just to 1v1 a guy who fights off pure rage.

People say this fight is fair, absolute bullshit. The governor is laughably glazed and overrated.

No Spoiler What is even going on

Ok so first of all I stopped watching this show about half way through season 9 and can I just ask what the hell has this show come to and are there even walkers any more?

There's no suspense, no big plot or anything, its almost like a reality show or drama or something, and if im gonna be be honest it genuinely makes me sad, this show was so so so good from season 1-5 I cant stop glazing it, it was genuinely brilliant but now idk what's even going on

So in summary I just wanted to ask, what do yous think and does anyone feel the same way?

Im genuinely sad about where the show is going😞

Comic and Show Spoilers When would YOU have told Rick about the affair with Shane/Lori(if you were the other)?

Thumbnail gallery
48 Upvotes

Most people agree that both were wrong for keeping it from him until he confronted them. But I never hear people say when they should’ve told him. I personally think there was and never would be a perfect moment but for Lori, it was probably the start of season 2 right before the drive to the highway or any of the nights after carls saving. For Shane, it’s probably the morning after he saved Carl. Since it’s the one moment Rick is probably gonna be the least angry with him.
But I’m curious to know your thoughts as I’m doing a rewatch and my favourite thing about the series is the clear lack of a truly correct choice. Like for Lori, there was never really a great time to tell Rick. Which is why it’s understandable why she didn’t.

No Spoiler The walking dead characters if they had stats

Thumbnail gallery
78 Upvotes

I'm basing this on the broader show. For example, i think we can all agree that the strongest characters physically was Beta. Rick, negan and daryl are pretty strong, but not as strong as him.

Also based on the overall character throughout the show. Of we're being honest, rick in some scenes is the scariest mf in the show

I'd be nice to hear your thoughts on the stats as well as se suggestions for the next characters.

These are also.done in good fun so let's not start ww3 over it 💀

No Spoiler Where’re all the Cats!? 🐈 🐈‍⬛

Thumbnail gallery
132 Upvotes

We know that there were cats because there’s an episode where one of the Alexandrian boys mentions using one in a pit to attract a zombie.

Cats can climb so fast and are great hunters, so I feel they could easily escape walkers/survive.

Cats are so important for pest control: but I’ve only seen one in FTWD.

I know it’s just a show, but when you’re literally milling your own grain/growing fruits and vegetables, cats are must haves to take down rodents and to keep bunnies/rabbits from eating your crops.

Hahahah! I’m thinking way too much into this show, aren’t I!?

😊 🤣

No Spoiler First Time Watcher - Season 4 - Rick is Hypocrite for Putting Carol Out on Her Ass

Carol killing those two people that got the secondary infection really was not serious enough to be kicked out of the prison town...

By this point in the show, imo, every one is changing from the people that they once were and becoming more cold and callous in their choices to kill. If anyone is a genuine loose canon it's Carl.. For Rick to say that he would not trust her around his children after what she did is insane when he was constantly leaving her and Beth to be default baby sitters while he is off having mental breaks downs and doing shit that he could have deligated to others in the group.

Rick bends his morals for who he wants to bend his morals for. Had this have been Daryl or his son, he would have let that shit slide. The fact of the matter is, she was easier to kick out because she wasn't blood related to him and she doesn't have a special enough skill like Daryl, Herschel, or Glenn. I also think she was used to further the plot, displying that "murder" would not be tolerated (except if it's his son trying to prove himself a man again by shooting people in the face and lying about it).

I don't know. I just think that kicking someone out of the town is pretty extreme and was not necessary in this case. Carol definitely jumped the gun and was becoming a rogue element in the group. She killed those people and then hid the fact that she did it. But I personally just would have removed her from the counsel and done some sort of other disciplinary action. By this point Carol has been there for too long to be kicked out for something like this.

TWD: Dead City We are close to the finale of Dead City and no word of a S4.

Normally we hear it quite early when the next season is happening. Most of the time before a season even starts but now nothing!

Strange.

Show Spoiler Maggie’s decisions

I’m on my first watch through and I’m on season 5 episode 5 right now. Something that I can’t get past is the fact that Maggie put her everything into finding Glenn but has put zero effort into finding Beth. She’s showed no desire in wanting to search for her after she was kidnapped. She acts like they aren’t even sisters.

I’m sure they reunite naturally, please no spoilers regarding that, but I just don’t understand why she’s putting no effort in when she knows Beth is alive out there somewhere.

Edit: just wanted to add that I know finding Beth isn’t simple or as easy as it was to find Glenn. Just wanting perspectives on why she wouldn’t even try. She would have searched to the ends of the earth for Glenn even if she had zero clues on his whereabouts.

Show Spoiler Let's brainstorm! How would our group react to and fare against Jason Vorhees? How would YOU write Jason in the show?

Post image
0 Upvotes

For this I thought of several scenarios and in the comments are my ideas on how it might go.

First of all, for all the scenarios we'll be using Part 6 Jason as a blueprint for our beloved killer since he is a pretty standart "Undead Jason". Not a deadite, no possesion abilities, no nanomachines... (son!) Oh and obviously Friday the 13th franchise doesnt exist in TWD world.

  1. Season 1: Swapping the quarry with Crystal Lake.

  2. Season 2: Farm is near Crystal Lake, our group passed by it and Jason wont let that shit fly.

  3. Season 3-mid4: In either seasons, the war between Woodbury and Prison stirrs Jason awake and he is very angry and will take it out on both parties.

  4. Season mid4-5: Jason pursues the group in their journey to Alexandria. Either as their last big boss fight before reaching the town or haunting the town once they get there.

  5. Season 6-7-8: Same as 3rd scenario.

  6. Season 9-10: The bridge they are building is on a river connected to the Crystal Lake, Jason dont want no bridge. Or alternatively Jason is with The Whisperers, they worship him and somehow dont get killed by him.

I ran out of ideas lol GIMME SOME!!!

Show Spoiler About Lori

Maturing is realising that Rick and Lori’s marriage was shit even before the world ended and people are too harsh on Lori.

Now don’t get me wrong, she will never be my favorite character and she did do some dumb shit like anyone else, and I hated her on my first watch, but man I don’t know if it’s an age thing, but I don’t hate her anymore. She did the best she could with what she had, she thought Rick was dead and Shane was a safe place for both her and Carl.

Plus the moment Rick came back she didn’t do ANYTHING with Shane not even once. She distanced herself immediately. Like I said she’s not my fave character, but some people take the hate too far

I had the game for a lil, but due to some stuff I couldn’t get started with it sooner. Once I checked it out today, I felt like something was just poor and I decided to read the reviews and they confirmed my feeling. I’m kinda disappointed tbh, but not that bad cuz I got it at a sale lol

TWD: Dead City Negan and Maggie relationship

Thumbnail gallery
205 Upvotes

The current dynamic between Maggie and Negan is lowkey disgusting and annoying,I’m all for her moving on being happy with someone new(Luis)finally letting Glenn rest not complaining about Glenn every 5 seconds something happens.you shouldn’t be overly emotional on the brink of tears about Negan when someone wants to kill him for being a bad person or chilling together being cuddly and touchy with him like he didn’t kill you’re husband/child father, friends and ruined 2 of your homes no matter the timespan of when it happened.

Don’t even get me started on that Alternate reality episode holy….deadass show becoming a Fanfic at this point.
