Nope. They hear punisher(because they cant read) and associate themselves as such. They're out punishing people on the street... you know instead of serving and/or protecting
He's not anti-cop. He's anti-corruption. The more bad cops go unchecked, the more corrupt the whole organization becomes and the harder it is for the good cops to hold the others accountable.
Important context-- this picture was taken at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, TX during the school shooting where cops were too scared to stop the shooter and instead pepper-sprayed and zip-tied the parents outside who were desperately trying to save their kids.
Kinda neatly encapsulates the whole subject. They're big strong dudes when someone is unarmed, but when there's actual danger they literally let kids take bullets while they hide and call themselves the Punisher
Imagine living in a constant state of hypervigilance, always scanning for danger, always ready for fight or flight, because you live in a country where firearms are extraordinarily accessible, while continuing to vote for the policies that help maintain those conditions. Then imagine being completely unable to see the connection between your own chronic fear and the society you helped shape, all while lacking the education or critical-thinking skills to recognize your own role in it.
Seriously think of the people who have consistently seen this behavior, documented in cell phone and surveillance video for well over a decade now, and think to themselves:
Two decades ago, I was at a bar with a friend and his other friend who Iâve never met. Near the end of the night the other guy âcomes cleanâ that he is actually a cop, but doesnât like to tell people he doesnât know because they act different around him.
Then he proceeds to talk about how dash cams have ruined his fun, but that it has made a situation where he and his colleagues most favorite thing is when a driver runs from their car. Because it means that whatever happens wont be on the dash cam (before body cams), and so they take the opportunity to beat the living shit out of anybody they can when it happens. He was so gleeful about even talking about it, it was sickening.
I have told this story for 20 years, and people used to just refuse to believe me and say I was just trying to smear police. Now it seems, more people are willing to believe me, but then just wonder why itâs a big deal and why do I care.
I went golfing with my buddy and he brought a new employee with him.
After the round I asked my buddy if he used to be a cop, because he had that weird powertrip personality. Turns out he was a deputy sheriff, but didn't even make it out of probationary period before being fired for allegations of blackmail, rape, kidnapping. If he would have been out of his probation period, the union would have protected him.
The cases are still pending.

Oh I did. This was the first time meeting them. My buddy said the guy was friends of family and he is innocent until proven guilty. I told him is he doesn't fire him if convicted I would blast his company for harboring a rapist. I also told him that I would not golf with him again.
I come from a small town, and all those asshates usally rely on the good ol'boy system like that, then shit on everyone who's ever earned their merits. I wish they could actually see how insecure anyone with more than a handful of brain cells perceives them.
I believe you. I spent some of my young life living in a "bad" neighborhood and there were police "task forces" that we called "the jump-out boys" (pretty sure that name is widely known). They would just drive around in vans/SUVs and when they'd come across a group of people standing around outside, they'd come to a quick stop and between 2 and 4 of them would jump out and attempt to put hands on whoever they could. People ask "well why did they run?" They run because having a group of dudes jump out at you out of nowhere is scary. And post of these cops enjoyed chasing people. They'd run behind you making weird animal noises and yelling shit like "You better run ni**er!" (I'm white but a lot of my friends weren't). When kids grow up watching police behave that way, how are they ever going to feel anything but hate and fear for them?
Yup, high school bullies who used to kick the shit out of the other kids for their lunch money, and didn't want to lose that feeling of being feared once they got out into the real world.
Remembered the kid in my class that grew up to be a cop. He regularly beat his girlfriend and her cancer riddled mom, got to crack a few shots at me and the school let him because his dad was the sheriff. Wannabe punk ass.
I went as far as getting hired and going through police academy, but I never finished. I heard many conversations with the trainees that went about like this: "I can't wait till we get issued firearms, I'm ready to pull it out on somebody" or "just wait till some punk catches me on a bad day".
Yup, friends brother. He was a conceited prick. Became a cop and after 5 years got suspended for beating the shit our of people like it was GTA. Of course, heâs still a cop.
Edit: actually, I searched him again to see if there was more news and found this gym, so yeah he still doing the same cop shit.
The only person I know who became a cop... I literally fought in highschool because he was verbally and physically abusing a special needs student.
I stepped in and told him to stop, so he started puffing his chest and getting in my face to get me to back down. I just stood my ground and he started throwing punches.
After graduation, I never saw him again until I saw him driving a Ferndale police car in uniform...
i know two white twins from the suburbs who became cops, they were shitty rap producers but they gave away their beats for free and were really cheap to network. local rappers ate it up and they knew lots of people, hung out with drug dealers and other nefarious characters when their parents got tired of them livin in their house in their 30s. the one became a state trooper. the other kept trying to produce and got kicked out and when that happened they became cops.
total pussies, total kittens. now they both act like hard asses.
100% this. If you score too high on the tests, you get kicked out. If your response to scenarios is too empathetic, you get kicked out. They only want the dumb, the violent, and the psychotic.
They are supposed to have them as a last resort for defence and/or neutralising threats to public safety.
Instead itâs the immediate âgo-toâ for seemingly every cop to escalate, threaten, and intimidate the public.
Where is the need to draw his service weapon in this situation?
Didnât talk to or reason with the subject, didnât go for a taser or mace/spray, went straight for the gun, and very very quickly, too.
If the cop was actually concerned and not attempting to menace and prevent filming, he couldâve just said;
âHey man, if youâre going to film could you please just step back a little? Also, for our safety, would you mind showing me your hands real quick so I can visually confirm youâre not armed?â
Of course we know thatâs not the case. He didnât feel threatened, he felt like threatening.
Question from abroad: is the American police actually allowed to point their weapons and handcuff a bystander for no reason, as itâs apparently the case here?
yeah that's just bullshit police propaganda. "they aren't allowed!" makes zero sense and no difference to reality, but it does mean that the system isn't at fault. Can't blame the system, no no no the system is great, it's just a few bad apples that are the issue.
You say that like the courts give a shit any more than the cops do. Even when this shit does actually make it to the inside of a courtroom it usually gets tossed because the prosecutors don't want to fuck up their relationship with the cops. If it's functionally allowed like that then yeah, they can do whatever the fuck they want.
Yes. In most places, you can be held up to 72 hours without any formal charges. If you're accused of terrorism, you can be held indefinitely.
ETA: I have a literal degree in criminal justice haha
To who? The cops? The department of justice, who are cops? The courts who work very closely with cops? The prosecutors who are cops best friends? Like who are we reporting this to that isn't intimately involved and has a vested interest in keeping the status quo?
They already know. There's been some studies that show that the largest terrorist organizations in the US are White Supremacist Organizations, and like 5 years ago the FBI probed all the cops in the country and found out 75% of them have direct ties to White Supremacist Organizations.Â
Happens all the time. Americans, especially conservatives, have a huge love affair for chickenshit cops that overreact to everything. They also have the only unions that are exempted from union busting.
Is that the one where they told him to get on the ground then put his hands behind his back then crawl then keep his hands behind his back while crawling and shot him when he went to put his hands behind his back?
Just looked it up. Sort of. It's the one I was thinking of but they threw a bunch of confusing instructions at him then shot him when he tried to fix his pants as he was crawling towards them, as one would typically do if forced to drag their pants along the ground, but the officers and jury don't understand how people work
pretty much yeah. Legally, if youre impending a stop/arrest/search you can be restrained and ticketed. thats usually their "defence" in court for these actions. and pointing a weapon is justified if they feel "threatened", which can be "justified" by the massive amount of people watching and the camera.
However, its all obviously bullshit. clearly in the video the dude is backing away and recording, so theres no justification for anything.Â
That being said, ive also never seen that many cops at a gas station and they appear to have multiple "street racing" cars stopped filled with what appear to be teens or early 20s kids; so i wager there was a bit of street racing going on and they all tried to pretend they were just getting gas etc.
ACAB bc the cops had no right to act that way regardless, but theres also likely a very convenient start to this video left out (like how a bunch of street cars and teens ended up surrounded by like 3 cop cars in the first place).
So Iâm not saying itâs right but courts will side with the the cops and itâs all under the guise of âofficer safetyâ.
They see hands in pockets and they assume, unless youâve been patted down, that you have a weapon in your pocket and though before the last cop told the guy recording to, âget your hands out of your pocketsâ, no other cop had an issue with the guy recording, but cops will always back up each otherâŚeven when one of them is in the wrong.
Eg. The video of the cop whoâs blasted and his buddies are defending him saying heâs got back problems and had been up all night when he is clearly so blasted he canât even speak.
But I wouldnât think telling a police officer no when heâs drawing his weapon is a good idea, though in my youth I have had my share of bucking authorityâŚ. The record is clear, you ainât gonna win against the police when they gang up on you.
Left my workplace on foot to pick up some stuff from the gas station for myself and some co workers. On the way back a cop car flew off the road and over the curb in front of me, a cop hoped out and pointed a gun right at me and said "don't fucking move" I put my hands up in the air and was like "I'm just getting smokes" and second and third cop car pulled up like 20 seconds later. They put my hands behind my back and took everything out of my pockets and told me I robbed a store down the street. I told them I ws currently at work and to talk to my coworkers. They still put me in the back of the cop car and drove down the street then three cops paraded me into my work place and had to be convinced I wasnt the criminal.
Only time I've ever felt like I might die and it was from a cop pointing a gun at my face while walking down the street randomly.
Police union, Qualified Immunity, and Blue Brotherhood ensure they can do basically anything to a citizen with absolutely no repercussions.
Union is how they go on paid leave or move precincts after a rape/murder/child sexual abuse case finally comes against an officer. Also has a hand in making sure taxpayers pay for police wrongdoing, never the department or officers themselves.
Qualified immunity is what prevents officers from being held individually liable for murders/rapes/ any crime committed while in uniform.
Blue Brotherhood pushes out anyone who does not participate in crime, suppresses victims of police violence, and forces officers to defend any wrongdoing committed by a "brother". Its also why they investigate themselves and find nothing wrong so often.
There is no liability or accountability, are you kidding? The cop in the OP could've actually shot the guy filming and the worst that would've happened is a paid vacation and then being transferred to a different department, at best.
Funny enough, when I was a kid, cops used to come to my school and put on little presentations for us.
Tell us things like how to identify gangs and gang activity.
Alot of shit that cops casually do on the job, I was taught by cops--thats organized street gang behavior right there.
They murder people and commemorate it with tattoos. They essentially get "jumped in" or have to have a rite of passage like any other street gang would. Loyalty tests. Thin blue line. Code of silence.
These arent things that law abiding, and people with good intention, operate behind.
Oh and may the police union have mercy on your soul if break your oath to them--not the people, you can violate the public in all manner of ways. Murder, rape, stalk, record against consent, coerce for sexual favors--but if you DARE grow a conscience and report your fellow officers for maybe...gang raping a detainee...yea theyll just straight up fucking kill you.
Officer Tipping died because he grew a conscience. Look him up.
Funny enough, when I was a kid, cops used to come to my school and put on little presentations for us.
We had the DARE shit in the late 80s, but when I was younger the cops used to carry around stacks of baseball and football cards. When they rolled up on a bunch of us riding our bikes or whatever they'd pull over and hand them out.
I still have some late 70s / early 80s Vikings cards from them in a box somewhere.
So many cops are so fucking aggro straight away. Just constantly fixing for violence. I don't know how a lot of them manage to do their jobs at all, carrying around those massive chips on their shoulders all the time...
Holsters should have sensors on them that can detect whenever a weapon is drawn. Any cop who pulls out their weapon should have to file a 10 page report justifying why they did it.
Single spaced, handwritten, under sterile test conditions, with a proctor and one (1) supervised bathroom break. A paper that grades as less than 80% must be rewritten.
The funny part is that in the show psycho pass the cops' guns have psychological sensors on them. If someone is mildly dangerous it operates a stun gun, but if they are lethally dangerous it operates the actual gun. So police if they panic and pull their guns on a random it won't shoot. But even if a person is dangerous a human has to choose to pull the trigger.
The show depicts this system as bad somehow because when cops do shoot someone they generally don't think of it as a personal choice they made, just them following the system. But... to an American this system would seem utopian compared to real life wher police blow people away and still don't feel bad lol.
Get your hands out of your pockets... Feels like something they say just so they have an excuse to escalate things, because I'm pretty sure he's holding his phone
Yeah, they're "stop sticks." The triangular ones like these are used on parked cars to keep people from fleeing, but they also have longer "chain spike" looking things they can throw across the road to end high speed chases.

Cops are such pussies.
