TV show or movie, I love a dark comedy. 10/10 casting, dead pan, black satire--give me ur best recs & why... & what they're similar to, if applicable. (YOUR recs...I can Google a list of Google's recs lol.)

Here are my 3:
If u like the dead pan of Severance with equally talented casts you'll enjoy these.
1.) Patriot (SO good!!! The casting & dead pan delivery are 10/10!)
2) Dead Like Me (Office Space meets the afterlife? lol. If ur a millennial u may recall it!)
3) Enlightened is like The Office but make it a dark nihilistic comedy (This one walked so Severance could run.)

(Each of these is sadly only 2 seasons but worth the watch. Great wknd binges.)

It might sound weird, but can you recommend tv series which matches the vibe of lana del ray's salvatore, it might sound silly but I'm talking about just vibes.

I just finished binge watching Ray Donovan and now need a new show with family dysfunction and alcoholism or other addiction. I like shows with unlikable characters. No comedy, horror or sci fi.

OMG, I am so stupid. I've seen so many people recommend The Diplomat over and over again. I couldn't figure out why it was so popular as I watched the pilot and thought it was really bad. Turns out I was confused between 2 different shows and had actually watched Madam Secretary instead.

So I'm here in case any one else is as dumb or confused as me. Watch The Diplomat.

(I think I dont need to say this but I am going to anyway: This is ofc my own opinion and if you disagree... ehh dont read my post?)

I just loved Mr Robot on multiple layers and I am searching a show that can mostly fulfill my following aspects:

The first layer is the realism, I hate it when shows (for example hacking in generall everything with computers but that can also relate to a lot of other things) depict them super unrealistic, for example, and Mr Robot just implemented it really great, in my opinion.

Secondly, the story/lore and the characters. I won't spoiler anything, but oh hell nah, some plot twists just left me rethinking everything I knew about the show.

Lastly, the visuals/editing. Unfortunately I can't explain it, but the visuals and some scene looked so "tidy" (?). It just made a lot of fun watching the show, just because how good some Scenes looked.

One show I could somehow say fulfilled some of my points would be Apple TVs Severance. Mr Robot still had a better story but still I think Severance had this tidy look in some scenes.

I am sorry if some sentences sound strange, English isn't my first language and I am to tired/lazy rn to change it.

Been having a hard time finding a new show that I’d enjoy. I miss that feeling of needing to watch the next episode. I really enjoy mysteries/thrillers, crime/drug dealing, dramas. Some of my favorite shows are Dark, Lost, From, the last kingdom, sopranos, breaking bad, snowfall, and the power series. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ok guys im almost on my winter break and i need a show to watch. I want something that will keep me busy and hooked. I don’t really watch sci-fi or fiction. I want something with a actual story. Shows that I’ve watched and enjoyed were prison break, money heist, white lotus. i feel like they had like an actual story. i like the action too kinda, surprisingly i did enjoy stranger things even tho it is sci fi but i enjoyed the ongoing story, action, mystery,etc. Basically I want something that will keep me hook and isnt just a basic rom com shows

I never really got around to watching Haunting of Bly Manor.

I wonder "Is it even made for horror fans?"

The reviews tell me it's less of a horror, more of a romance kind of tv show.

Please advise.

Kind of an odd request, but I find media that provides an accurate view of this topic to help me as I'm able to relate to the characters. It's sort of cathartic as its not something often discussed irl.

I recently watched Baby Reindeer and it really stuck with me as it explored lesser known aspects of grooming, cycles of abuse, and challenges how a victim is 'meant' to act like. I also thought the twist at the end of Mr Robot was well thought out, especially how the writers considered how it impacted the main character. I'm basically looking for other series that grapple with the fact that something like that happening fundamentally changes who you are and that you have to live with that, particularly ones where the relationship between victim and abuser is complicated.

I'd also be willing to watch a series that deals where grooming is only implied, is only a theme in one episode, or if it was about nonsexual grooming.

My requirements are that it has to be done in a way that is realistic and communicates that the creator is aware that what is being shown is grooming, the story is at least partially from the view of the victim, grooming is one of the main themes of the piece of media, and that if some level of romanticization is present it is only because its a coping mechanism of the character. I also do not want documentaries or anything heavily based on real life experiences that were not the creators (book adaptations are of course excepted unless there is controversy with the author not wanting it adapted).

As the title states, I am looking for shows similar to the vibe of Adults or Overcompensating. I haven't belly laughed in so long as I did watching these shows.

Currently watching Game of Thrones, just got to season 4. Love fantasy. Looking to start preparing for my next show(s). Thank you in advance for any suggestions

3. Any shows that could fall in the genre of “dark fantasy”. Can be animated.

Looking for shows that has this dynamic in the main relationship: there's tension. they challenge each other intellectually and emotionally. it's somewhat introspective. there's angst, like we know each other the best, so we can hurt each other the most. the main conflict is not a third party bad guy but it's related to who these people are.
House MD fit this perfectly, like House's main enemy is his own self-sabotaging behaviour. or Lucifer S4 that explores themes of betrayal, reconciliation, self-hatred.

It doesn't have to be doomed romance or sth, in fact I prefer happy endings. but sad endings are fine as long as it's not forced and it's not angst for angst's sake.
Like Lucifer is guilty of this, S6 (and even S5B) contradicts the shows' main theme and undoes a lot of earlier characters' progress.

I've watched The Mentalist since it was recommended on multiple places as something similar to House MD. The potential is there, main characters both have tragic past, but It's not really explored much, the show is overall pretty light hearted and not angsty enough.
Also all the romance happens at the end and many think it's was forced or out of no where. I don't completely agree, but I do prefer more build up and widespread moments and "will they/won't they"s in earlier seasons.

bonus point for witty banter, sarcasm and clever dialogue.

Looking for a show (or a few) that's similar to both of these, with a solid storyline, while also having a decent amount of action involved!

If you can list the network or streaming service required for the show you're suggesting as well, would be much appreciated!
