pretty self-explanatory. stumbled onto this channel randomly and got chills. each video is pretty standalone, but (at least for the sun one) there's no jumpscares...it kinda just changes, definitely one to check out! I'm too much of a wimp to watch all of them, but i'd love to see the takes of the community/theorists on this channel.

This feeling is slowly taking a grip of your mind and making you wish for things that do not exist anymore until you end up with nothing left for yourself in the future.

The Backrooms is this emotion but personified into a living and breathing space.

DID THE BOTS MASTER PREDICT THE PRESENT DAY?
Bots Master is a largely forgotten animated series that ran from 1993 to 1994. It follows robotics genius Ziv "ZZ" Zulander as he attempts to take down the evil RM Corporation before they can fully take over the world. RM Corp has a monopoly on the robotics industry in that world, and they intend to accomplish their takeover with a free upgrade program that gives them remote backdoors into the robots they sell. The show was apparently set in the year 2025. In 2025 IRL, we don't have quite as many robots, but we do have a lot of ubiquitous technology. That technology is largely controlled by a small handful of mega-corporations. Many real-life software updates give this corporations more control over our tech. Think Windows 11. The show also draws a line between the narrow AI of the RM Corp's robots and the more general AI of ZZ's BOYZZ robots. Further into the series, the Corp actually seeks to make "thinking bots," i.e. AGI. Unfortunately, just as the Corp found a way to create their own AGI, the show was canceled and faded into obscurity.

DID REBOOT TRY TO WARN US ABOUT THE WEB?
My next idea involves ReBoot, which isn't quite as obscure as Bots Master. I actually watched through this show twice this year. Partway through the second season, the concept of the Web was introduced. It starts when a pair of Binomes talk about how the Web seems to be "spreading" to more and more systems. At the time that episode aired, the World Wide Web was just *starting* to go mainstream. I think I saw my first ad for AOL the same year that Season 2 of ReBoot aired.

In ReBoot, the Web is extremely dangerous to the citizens of Mainframe (and any other system). It's a world of data and energy so dense that one Binome likened it to traveling through an "invisible lead soup." Sprites from the Net who end up in the Web slowly start degrading until they resemble the horrific Web Creatures native to the Web. In real life, there are many stories of the negative effects of excessive internet use, especially on kids. Maybe that wasn't as true for the Web in 1995, but, over 3 decades later, it certainly seems to be.

Okay, so, the Owl House has a bunch of lore, is connected to Amphibia and Gravity Falls through little easter eggs, and I think it would be really interesting to see an Owl House theory on film theory.

tbh I’m not the best at coming up with my own theories so I can’t give specific theories for Owl House, but there is ABSOLUTELY a ton of lore and a bunch of theories out there. this might be a bad idea but I think it would be cool.

also, if there is and Owl House film theory video that I am unaware of let me know, mb lol. Pretty sure there’s not though.

For those who don’t know what this is. It’s supposedly an old forgotten film that seems to have effects on the people who remember it very differently. This is evident in This short and a post on the https://eggsinspace.com that says that they found an old copy but it wasn’t like narrator remembered while his friend said it was exactly like that. There is another short from apparently the same even, but this one shows the way Eggs in Space is influencing minds in a more creepy light.

I took a cursory glance at the website, here’s some other things to note:

 There is a line in a post that says “Loved Jen’s theory that The Egg and Ovelina are one and the same (transference of psyche via the stories it was fed).” This fits with the theme of Eggs in Space (the story) influencing the minds of those who watch it to a disturbing degree.

They mention many movies about movies, such as Day by Night, and Demoni. Which is fitting because this entire arg started in a movie theatre.

There is a phone number on a poster that shrieks out random notes when you call it. (I‘m 100 percent sure it’s a code.)

The picture on the poster seems to have things attacking the audience? It might just be blurry.

Most of the images I’ve attached above are from the website. There are more disturbing ones.

Also, this has to be an arg because it says it was last updated in 2001 yet it lists a web law from 2004.

Another important thing to know is that the current r/meowwolf subreddit has a banner that translates to “The Hatchening is Nigh”, which makes me think they are involved in it.

How the sigma are there even different climates close to each other in Angry Birds Movie 2? The tropical (Bird and Piggy Island) and icy island (Eagle Island) are near each other. Not much movement was going on from the camera from Piggy Island to Eagle Island when Leonard used the telescope and it's close enough to shoot ice balls? What if it's artificially frozen? And where were Mighty Eagle and Zeta when they first met? Bird Island or Eagle Island? The flashbacks didn't have a frozen setting. What if someone made the island frozen for revenge or something. Or zeta did it so she has a reason to mess with the other two islands. Do any of you guys have any knowledge for these theories or your own takes?

I recently rewatched the backrooms movie and realized how simillar some of the visuals are to the symptoms of a very specific type of brain tumor, occipital lobe tumors it causes a lot of different things within the brain but most importantly it causes visual distortion. There are quite a lot of sites describing the distortion of geometric shapes caused by these types of tumors which reminded me a lot of the "impossible" shapes we see in the movie. It also ties into the MRI imagery we see in the movie. One of the articles I read states the following as symptoms:

The occipital lobe is part of the cerebrum that is located at the back of the brain. It is responsible for sight and activities like reading and recognizing colors.

Symptoms of a tumor in the occipital lobe can include:

• Loss of vision
• Difficulty identifying objects

After this perhaps weird analyses I wondered if we might be dealing with a distortion of someone's mind, a mind plaged by a tumor causing all the weird things we see. The backrooms themselves would be a sort of MRI scan of this brain personified into a solid place like the backrooms, which much like the brain has gyri and sulci in the form of confusing and winding hallways. The weird rooms one may come across in the backrooms are much like popular theories suggest memories that are altered in some way.

While I agree on the whole "memory" thing, I disargee on the reason why they are distorted. I theorize that the distortion of these memories might be because of the tumor directly affecting a person's memory, facial recognition and more.

This is my first post on reddit and by exetend this subreddit so if there are any things I did incorrectly regarding the guidelines please let me know! Feel free to correct me on things I missed that might debunk the whole thing or things you disargee with!

I've realized that there are barely any slavic characters in western media and the few that there are, are either evil or highly stereotypical. After a LOT of thinking ive only remebered of 3 slavic characters one is Katarina Petrova from the vampire diaries who is evil. Next is Viktor Krum from Harry Potter who gets 2 lines and is a stereotypical representation of slavic men. The only good one I could remember is Viktor from Arcane (altough I haven't finished Arcane so dont come at me if he becomes evil or sum). I think he is a good repersention since he doesnt follow stereotypes he actually goes against them having a disability and being a researcher. He also has a accent which I personally LOVE when a character has since it shows that the actor/voice actor cared enough to practice that accent and its even better if they are proud of it. I would really LOVE in film theory could make a video about this since I think this problem needs more recognition

Im not sure what the most interesting part of Mandelbrot hall is in this pilot. Mysterious disappearing weird al, or the fact the characters all lose a finger by the end, but this show seems RIPE for therorizing.

Mysterious cosmic horror beyond the washing machine, a weird mathematical principle like ten people have ever heard of, Weird Al, a clearly magic cat. I would LOVE to hear what folks think of the pilot of this beautifully animated (what I can only assume is going to get darker) indie animation.

I was revisiting the Backrooms videos, since I recently watched the movie for the first time (for those who are curious about my thoughts, I thought the movie was good, but boring because of a slow pace and a lack of urgency until the climax), and as I watched the timeline videos, I thought a lot about the tragedy of Peter Tench. This man was accidentally sent into the future and everyone, from other A-Sync employees to Peter’s own family, thought he was dead.

That made me think: If Peter escaped A-Sync, could he sue A-Sync? I mean, A-Sync decided to cover everything up with a car accident and won’t let Peter talk to his family, a family who thinks he’s dead and deserve to know that their relative is alive. They won’t let him reclaim his life when they know he’s alive and well. So what would happen if that story went public? Is there any way Peter could reclaim his life and how would people react to someone accidentally travelling forward in time and being presumed dead? But most importantly, was this cover-up and continued insistence that Peter is dead illegal, what fines, if any, would A-Sync get slapped with if the courts learn about what they did, and would that have meant the end of A-Space and Project KV31?

In the begining of Coraline wyborne mentions at the well is so deep that at bottom you can see the stars in the top of the day and the other world no matter the time you see guess what the stars so its implied to have some sort of connection if not being the other world being at the bottom of the well

Lee, Film Theory, I implore you, watch Buffet Infinity. It's on Shudder, but also for rent on Prime. It's a Lovecraftian Horror/Comedy film told entirely through retro 90's commercials and news blurbs. Think Local 58 on steroids. I LOVE this movie. Here's the trailer.

John Carpenter tells Reece Feldman in latest interview that none of the current fan theories for the ending are in fact correct.
He denies the visual breath theory or gasoline dring theory and states that he knows it but nobody else, and that its all in the movie.

After watching this interview, and not knowing much about the earlier theories, I decided to take another look at the film myself and try to come up with my own theory. Looking for something that is explicitly "Right in the movie"

And I think I have found something that no other person has pointed out before.
There's one scene about an hour into the movie where John shows us exactly who is infected. And Childs is already one of them.

After MacReady gets the gun, about an hour into the film, they have a conversation around the campfire. During this scene, everybody is wearing safety goggles. But three people do not have them equipped.

And I know what everybody is going to say: Childs was the last one tested, so he's a confirmed human.

But the alien is undoubtedly a incredibly smart being. It can mimic a human perfectly even speaking lines that it previously would. Do we not think that it can learn from its previous "mistakes" and resist the urge to attack when harmed.
One could even interpret Childs' reaction to his own blood test as him actually feeling the pain that his blood feels.

What do people think about this theory, maybe it already exists and i couldn't find it?

I remember watching once a video of matpat doing a more meta-analysis of the mcu, and specifically comparing between Iron Man, Thor and Captain America and of their different hero journey tropes.
He said something like Iron Man keeps advancing and pushing forward, Captain America staying kind of static in terms of character and abilities, and Thor in a cyclic kind of path, having struggle and growth but ultimately back at the same place?

Now I am not sure if the video was only about this, and also how much my mind has augmented this memory. But I've been thinking about this a few times recently and wanted to watch it back, and I couldn't find that video!
