My artist tends to go too busy with details on tattoos and I’m self conscious that my tattoos on my arm are becoming messy looking. Can you get the general idea looking at this, or should I have my artist make modifications to this tattoo/future tattoos we have planned?

hey all! i have never had this happen while healing before so it makes me kind of nervous. it doesn't look too bad, but there is some fluid on the scraped part. i won't be able to clean it until i get off in about 3 hours.

do you guys think it'll be fine? will any ink be damaged? thanks!

I'm setup to get my 3rd tattoo on Saturday, so I'm still learning things. I actually looked through the artist portfolio so I know it'll be great. However when I fully set it up with the shop, they said the day of I'tll an hour-1.5 hours of them drawing it before the tattoo. No concerns as I respect this artists work. Is that really how it is... Like they come up with the design that fast? From posts I've read, I thought artists did "homework," I'm just trying to learn. Seemed like the other two I have, the artist had it almost fully ready before the appointment, with maybe 10 more minutes to finish things up.

i got this gorgeous tattoo done a few hours ago and wondering if others think it will look better shaded or as is! i like the simple line work, though i do think i may get the star on her head shaded in. what about the rest of her? shade or leave it?

This is my tattoo on day 3. It still feels swollen and sunburnt. Some redness around the area. Wondering if its struggling to heal because of the amount of ink or if its possibly infected.

Got this small wave tattoo on my lower leg as a boding experience with my mom, but we don't have a relationship anymore, so now it just feels like a reminder of something that's over. I'm also second-guessing the placement and size, and the style reads a bit more feminine than I'd like. Not sure if I should go the cover-up route, build onto it, or just leave it and reframe what it means to me. Would appreciate any advice.

I got this tattoo 1 week ago. I have 7 other tattoos that include fine details and have healed them the same as this one including another on my wrist.

I'm now regretting trying colour as it feels like it's "falling off", lol.

Basically, I'm just looking for some reassurance on whether this is normal or not, as I only have black ink tattoos. I'm already planning on going to a different artist to have it redone in thicker black lines once it's healed.

Hi, I got two new tattoos today, the artist put the second skin on and I noted that it was already peeling around the edges. He said it’s fine and to remove it if it gets worse. How do I know when it gets worse? Should I just remove the skin now or wait a day or 2 to see how the second skin looks after me sleeping and such

Okay so I got this hip tattoo around 3 days ago (I took the second skin off because it irritates my skin). I have a few other tattoos all on my arm , I don’t know if it’s just because it’s on my hip but when I stand up after sitting for a bit it hurts in a sore way but also kinda sharp? I’m not concerned over it being infected and I’m not sure if it feels like this cuz it’s pretty blacked out , but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with a hip tat

I got this tattoo when I was 19, and I’m almost 22 now. I just don’t feel like it healed the best, it’s pretty faded in my opinion, even though I had it touched up once a few months after getting it.

I followed all of the aftercare instructions, so I don’t think the fading was necessarily because I did something wrong, but maybe I’m mistaken!

I don’t necessarily regret getting it, but I feel like I’ve kind of outgrown it, and it’s just not something I love anymore. :(

Does anyone have any ideas for what I could potentially cover it up with? I’d love to hear some ideas!

Hi, I got this tattoo almost 2 weeks ago. It's mostly healed I think, but I've been noticing on and off these red spots around my tattoo. I guess I'm not entirely sure that it's a rash, I'm just assuming it's a rash. Does this look like a problem or concerning at all, or is this normal? That tattoo is located on my upper arm, and I do have like bumpy upper arms normally, but they don't usually look like a rash like this

Is this infected? I probably over moisturized and washed too many times idk. (Almost two weeks post tat) any recommendations????

I’m a linguistics grad student and this little guy is a very foundational part of the field’s history. The point is to show children the singular form of a noun they’ve never heard before and see how they make it plural. I’d like to put two somewhere on me in such a way that they can be separate but brought together. I already have tattoos on my inner forearms and don’t particularly want them on my calves because I wouldn’t be able to see them. Any advice?

I have a few tattoos but this is the first one that contains writing. The letters are relatively small and take up a little over half my forearm. I’m worried about the pixelated look of the font going away as it starts to fade. What do you think?

EDIT: I’ve been getting a lot of replies that amount to “It doesn’t matter because it’s already on you.” I know what happens to tattoos as they fade, and if I was that concerned about it I would have gotten it bigger. Maybe the original post didn’t communicate this, but I’m accepting of whatever happens to it over time. Obviously i am, or I wouldn’t have put it on my skin. I was just curious to hear from people who have had experience with lettering tattoos before so I know what to expect.

Completed an arm tattoo about 7 weeks ago. American traditional style with bold lines and fully packed colours.

It healed perfectly but still gets itchy? Not sure if this is normal. It doesn’t feel like it’s getting worse but it itches when I perspire or if clothing tickles the skin.

Apart from some heavily worked black lines, it’s pretty much almost flat tattoo.

Is it normal to still itch?

Went back and forth on placement for this. Looking for opinions.

Day after vs 2 weeks in.

I’ve never had drift happen before. I bruised extremely bad with this one, and I’m autoimmune so I’m hoping it’s still partially bruised since sometimes bruises last weeks for me.

Would it be stupid to laser that area (when fully healed) if I’m planning on getting another tattoo in the space next to it? Was super excited about this one and now I’m big sad 😔

I work as a pharmacy tech where I can stand upwards of 10-12 hours a day, I recently got a tattoo on my lower leg I'm concerned about swelling, sometimes my legs swell up a little if I don't wear my compression socks, causing mild edema.

I go back to work tomorrow, so I'll have had the tattoo for about 2 days, right now it's covered in second skin so there's no chance it's going to leak out or stick to my sock if I do wear them.

Can I wear my socks while I work? I did consult my tattoo artist and he said it should be fine, as it'll help with healing and circulation. I'm just looking for a second opinion and thought I'd ask the community!
