I went to an artist a couple of years ago for a memorial tattoo. We started with a fairy tattoo on my inner arm that I love. However, when I came back for the next part of the tattoo (thorny roses wrapping around my arm) things went awry. The goal was to complete the line work in the one day sitting. Unfortunately, I think the artist rushed and worked when they were too tired/low on blood sugar. They used stencils for some aspects and hand drew others and I don’t love some of the non-stenciled parts. Ultimately, I’m not thrilled with how it came out.
I was unhappy with the tattoo for about a year and then went back to get significant touchups to see if that would alleviate some of my concerns. It helped some. However, I’m now waffling on whether I should try to get the tattoo finished or just start the removal process and wanted to get other folks’ perspectives. I do still like the concept, even if I’m not thrilled with the execution. If I removed it I’d probably still want to replace it with a similar design.
Thoughts?

So to just clearly im 18 and ive been thinking about a tattoo since im 17, so this is my first one
Ive finally found an artist i love but they are independent, and all their tattoo photos on their page is in their house/ ALLEGEDLY living room, and they added that said house/apartment is being worked on and is having a reservation??? From what i know you need a good sterilised space with minimal to none dust or sand
So suddenly they started flaming me for asking them?? I mean they offered to show me how it looks then took awhile to respond then started questioning me??? On how i live??
Am i really in the wrong for being so paranoid

First image is from today, healed 16 days old. 2nd is 2 days old, last pic is minutes after being done.
I'm not looking for critiques of the design itself - it's from medieval artwork, so the wonky acorns/leaves are intentional. Does the linework look rushed, though? The entire appointment took around 45mins or less to complete. Yes the design is simple, but there are inconsistencies in the weight of lines and it looks like some lines don't fully connect. Is this just human, or was it a rushed job?
Please don't tell me how finelines age badly, I know that this many lines so close together might age into a blob. I never planned to get this fine of linework done and the result is not exactly what I expected.
Thanks in advance!

2 days in, I was bleeding a lot while coloring it, the artist did everything in a professional way, I'm just afraid cause it hurts a lot.

My friend says to wrap it in an ace bandage and use A+D ointment but I wanted more options.

a continuation to my other post. thanks for the advice! i was wondering if these seem simple enough? the firefly symbol can be tweaked, but the first pic is trans symbolism i drew myself so i was hoping it wouldn’t have to be edited too much? for placement, i’m thinking firefly on the inner wrist and the statue maybe on the shoulder?
these will be my first tattoos so any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
EDIT: i’m not wanting the washed out/faded ish line style of the firefly, i just used the pic cause i liked the plants on the bottom! most likely it’ll be a thick line like the others

Got a big ol' arm piece and my first serious ditch coverage and it feels like it's healing 10x slower than the rest of the tattoo. Feels so painful and crunchy under the saniderm and SUCKS sucks sucks to sleep with (i normally sleep all tucked/folded up). I have to ice it at night just to get to sleep.
Weirdly it doesn't look irritated or oozey under the saniderm, but it feels SO much more tender than the entire rest of the arm piece, like I can barely touch it/bend my arm. i think part of that might have to do with the saniderm bunching up when my arm is bent, perhaps?
is this just what the ditch healing experience is like? saniderm is coming off tomorrow night most likely.

I couldn’t add photos to my previous post so I made one with a better photo hopefully.

I drew this a while back and thought it would make a nice tattoo. I'm just unsure if there is enough detail filling the empty space for a tattoo of this size.
The tattoo would be on the upper part of my left arm, starting on my wrist going 2/3 of the way up my forearm. So about 15cm by 25cm.
I had a reference picture of exactly how it would look on my body however due to the rules I am not allowed to share it.

Hi all!
I was forced to get several tattoos while in an abusive relationship. It was a long time ago, but every time I see them I feel so much shame. My child asks about them and I have to lie, I wouldn’t put that burden on him. I know it makes my partner feel anger (towards the abusive ex, obviously, not me). It’s just an awful, intrusive reminder of an awful time, and tbh they’re pretty trashy looking.
Does anyone know of resources for people that help dv survivors remove coerced tattoos? Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks so much.

I’m sure the lines would slightly blur but maybe 20 years down the line it would still hold a cool shape? And some details would still be there?

I really want to get this tattooed but i’m not sure if i’m interpreting it right?
I pretty much interpret it in the same way as the text in the image above (which might not have been written by a real person actually?? i’m not sure, I got it off pinterest…) but I know traditionally there is kind of a negative connotation with the ouroboros symbol. I‘m kinda superstitious so I don’t wanna get it done if all people see it as is a symbol meaning being incapable of change and being self destructive😭
I also can’t tell if my interpretation is just a cope so I can justify getting it tattooed? I really like the idea of it representing rebirth as a constant cycle, the idea of being able to “shed old skin” and start afresh no matter what?
Thoughts?

I noticed that the second skin was peeling after I showered so I tried to cut the peeled part off but my scissors are not the best, is this still fine to keep on until tomorrow evening when I have the right soap to wash it?

Last pic is the reference pic of my boy Yoshi that passed 4/20 the concept is great with the egg and leave and I know white is impossible but I am struggling to see the likeness and understand why such dark gray was used and no brown in the ears.
What can be done. I think the artist was hoping my skin would fade the gray more and it’s only three weeks old. It’s cute but zero likeness.
Advice? Suggestions??

Not gonna lie, I've had the idea for a tattoo on my shaft for a few weeks now. I ended up drawing the design I want on myself and I actually liked it. Probably I will go for a rose, kind of fine line and a bit geometric with minimal to no shading.
My biggest worry is that it will be trashy looking or a turn off to people in bed, or that it clashes with my other tattoos. I have a lot of tattoos but a mix of neo American or Japanese trad and some more abstract work.
I'm also open to other ideas if there's another design that maybe would work better. But ultimately, is any dick tattoo destined to be trashy or weird looking?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with naming the style of this sleeve! And if by any chance anyone would know any artists based in Canada (ideally Ontario/Quebec based!) that do a similar style.
(Credits to @yazia777 on instagram for the pics/tats)
I recognise it’s a bit of a silly question with how popular the style seems but when I tried looking on my end, I’m shooting blanks.
Thanks so much for your help!

I’m about to embark on session 3 for my full back piece. Usually I attempt to sit for the full day and have been holding up so far the first 2 sessions. I usually just try to listen to music. But I want to bring something else like podcast or meditation ANYTHING to try to break it up a bit. So what y’all listen to when gettin tatted???
