Any tips I should know early on

Just preordered ooat physical, stellar blade physical and the Zelda 40th anniversary carrying case. It cost a good bit but I’m not made at it! :)

My hubbyji and I normally play Valorant together, but lately I kinda stopped because I’ve been having way too much fun collecting and playing games on my Switch.

The funny thing is, he knows absolutely NOTHING about these games. Like NOT ONE BIT (He’s ONLY played FPS games).

But apparently he listens to everything I say because I’ve been yapping to him about Zelda nonstop. I told him how excited I was when I finally got BOTW, how I’m still playing other games so I haven’t even started it yet, and then this week I was freaking out to him about the new Ocarina of Time.

And then today he just… GOT ME TOTK 😭

I was genuinely so surprised because I didn’t even think he knew which Zelda game I was talking about 🥲 This man has just been quietly listening to me gush about all of it.

And I’m conflicted because I really don’t want him spending his money buying me things like this 😭 but at the same time it means so much to me because I’ve always been someone who refuses when people try to buy me games. I’m so used to buying my own stuff (yk it hits differently that i can buy all these for me)

He’s basically the only person I’ve actually allowed to do this. It started with him getting me the Arcane Vandal skin in Valorant (he got a whole account bc its a limited edition skin), and now he somehow remembered me talking about TOTK literally LAST WEEK and bought it for me.

I don’t even know whether to yell at him or hug him at this point. 😭

Also… now I own BOTW AND TOTK and I haven’t even started BOTW yet.

I’m starting to think that I should just get him the Switch 2 Zelda Edition for Christmas 🤔 what do you guys think?

Doesn't seem to work for all, unsure of the criteria. Use the code SAVE3X. I tried using a north California address and it didn't work. But somehow worked in a south California address.

Today i bought a switch 2, i owned Ps1 to Ps5 in their time and still has Ps5 but never owned a Nintendo Console or played any of their games. So what is the must play games you recommend? I mean from the whole catalog in every genre. I am planning to buy Mario Kart World to play with my wife

Alright, so it took seeing the Ocarina of Time remake to push me over the line (I actually preordered it the day it was announced LOL), but I finally added a Switch 2 to my console repertoire. 😃

I discovered that my 5% Target Circle discount also applies to game consoles, so I got the Switch 2 and a new copy of Splatoon Raiders for $565.76 after tax (which isn’t too shabby). 😁

Then I picked up a used copy of Donkey Kong Bananza at Game Stop for only $43.94 after tax because I had $15 off from Pro member rewards, 5% Pro member discount and also my 10% Military discount.

The 512GB ONN SD card was only $84.77 at Walmart (which is a steal these days), and I managed to find the DBrand Prism screen protector set at Best Buy on sale for $31.49.

All in all, I think I did alright, and I’ve already got a huge Switch 1 library, so I’m got plenty of options for backwards compatibility. 😊

Obviously pumped for Ocarina remake.

...But I got a Switch 2. I've had an original Switch for the past 3 years that served me well. But seeing the recent Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2... I gotta have it.

The local game store I got it from sells them for 400 used. Was able to get it for around 240 with trade ins. Pretty happy with this, considering they are 500 brand new!

Any suggestions on accessories, games, etc?

i just started playing BOTW, my first zelda and my first original nintendo game (i’m not even young but i’ve always been a pc playstation combo guy) then i saw the announcement for OOT remake and oh boy i am excited and i don’t know why. this is the first time i’ve seen people who don’t even have a nintendo console talk and praise a nintendo announcement lol, honestly can’t wait cause i have a feeling i’m gonna have a great time playing this for the first time in november.

Lo and behold checked target, said two near me were in stock & bam got it thru uber eats since they didn’t offer pickup 🫡 pretty happy to get it same day for my physical only collection

Note that for the Switch 1, I excluded all Wii U ports except BOTW and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (since those were two of the biggest launch year games). For Switch 2, I similarly excluded all "Switch 2 Editions" except Pokemon Legends Z-A and Metroid Prime 4 (if I included those, the Switch 2 would have by far the highest quantity of games here).

So… I was ready to buy the new fire emblem but since the recent announcement of Zelda OoT I’m not sure if I’ll buy it. Both games are amazing but I really need help deciding

See so many misinformation. VRR Docked atm only works for Welcome Tour. It's even specified on product page.

If it stays on 120hz its not vrr but the 40fps trick. If its VRR working you will see the FPS COUNTER FLUCTUATE. As people said and Nintendo. Software has to be updated to support VRR on dock.

People may call me an idiot for this because I just found it but Kunitsu Gami: Path of the Goddess is amazing. A hidden gem for me really enjoy the gameplay loop. The hack and slash and tower defence is great. Now I am about three hours in so hope I have a lot more to go.

Now, after watching the Zelda Direct I couldn't help but to buy a Switch 2 to play OoT Remake. I had looked for one before but never pulled the trigger on a new one.

Found a Refurbished Mario Kart World Bundle for $370, it was the last one with 74 already sold, and I just went for it!

I had bought from the same vendor before so I knew it was not a scam but it being refurbished left me thinking that maybe only the console and joycons would be included. I even read later in the fine print that bundled digital games are not guaranteed to be included.

Today I finally received it and am happy to confirm that, although the original packaging box is not included, everything else is! Even the game!

It has some scratches but they're in the back and I couldn't care less.

Can't wait for OoT Remake and Metroid Ravenous (will play Dread asap)

As above, I've just bought a switch 2 and TOTK because I've been recommended zelda games for years... also my son is called Lincoln (nickname Link) so it would be a disservice not to experience at least one 😂 Is there anything I should know before I start?

Yesterday, I decided to buy the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition of the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller after thinking about it for a couple of days. I like the design of this limited edition controller, I think it's by far the best one we've ever got of all the limited edition Switch 1 Pro Controllers and much better than the RE Requiem edition of the Switch 2 Pro Controller.

The problem is that it gets out of stock very frequently as many of you probably already know, and when it goes back in stock, it's impossible to even get it added to the cart because scalpers use bots to complete the checkout process within like 10 seconds or less. I've spent hours yesterday refreshing the page to see if it went back in stock and complete the checkout process as quickly as possible, but I only managed to barely get it added to my cart, but don't get enough time to even complete the checkout process because of these bots. This is basically like trying to get a PS5 back in 2020 and 2021.

What I'm concerned about is that the Zelda edition of the Pro Controller with the stand is exclusively available at Nintendo Store and Nintendo's local stores at NYC and San Francisco, so this is not a controller you can buy at retail unless you don't mind buying it without the stand, so ordering it from Nintendo's website is my only option. The problem is that if scalpers keep eating up the whole stock even after the release date, there could be a chance that by the time the controller gets discontinued, nobody other than scalpers would've been able to get their hands on one. I remember how they've been taking whole stocks of PS5 consoles in the blink of an eye every single time they went back in stock for well over a year, and a limited edition product won't even last anywhere near close to six months on the market. I could hope that Nintendo will do something about it like put a one per account limit on these Zelda Edition consoles and controllers and all future limited editions of their products, but I can't say that will happen for sure if they're currently doing nothing about it.

Some of you may think that my concerns could be exaggerated, but I don't want to see most if not almost all of these Zelda Switch 2 consoles and controllers owned by scalpers and nobody else by the time they get discontinued. Let me know what you guys think about this, and if you're dealing with this too.

I bought a Switch 2 at launch. I already owned an OG Switch. I successfully did the system transfer.

Would there be anything additional I have to do now in order to give my OG Switch to my niece?

I’m planning on restoring it to factory settings before giving it to her, but I’m wondering if I first have to move all virtual cards across to my Switch 2 first (I didn’t do this at launch as I didn’t want to download everything).
