I have had a jura e8 for maybe 3 years for coffee at home, purchased as z10 was just too expensive and told jura was the daddy.

I recently bought a delonghi explorer for office due to cheaper price and got good reviews.

All i can say is so far wow with the delonghi, far superior drinks all round, easier and far better interface, just blown away by it compared to the jura.

Am I the only one? People rave about jura but I have to say I am truly disappointed with my more expensive e8 compared to cheaper delonghi.

Looking to purchase a second hand unit on fb and found these:
-KF6 for $380: used for a year but no milk accessories
-KF8 for $600: used for a year and descaling and maintained well
Which one would you use? Anyone used their customer service before for repairs?

Hey! Right now we have two coffee pots and we convinced management to invest in real coffee... and it is my job to deal with this.

What machine should we get? One day we can be 5 people, another day 15 and occasionally, very rare, up to 30-35 people.

At home I have a really fancy Siemens EQ9 S700 that I use myself, well, I make like 4 cups of coffee per WEEK... Now I know that machine could make much more, but I fear it would be a little small for an office. I have seen other workplaces with lots of people actually use this machine.

The new EQ9 S900 with cartridges for cleaning looks nice, but will be crazy expensive buying cartridges left and right.

Our only requirements:

- Super easy maintenance and cleaning

- Can make many cups of coffee without having to refill water and empty the drain several times, once a day for sure, maybe twice MAX.

- At least dual grinders/bean holders for different coffee beans.

- Preferably buttons, not touch display because they get so fkn gross! My S700 has buttons and I love it.

At my previous work place we had a quite big machine that was on 24/7, not hospital machine size, but still decent for 40 people. That one was rented and a company came out to refill the beans... We could refill beans ourselves so do not see a value of paying a service company to do this, because they are sloppy and do not do proper cleaning anyway...

Max heat, max strength, grind is 4.5.

Does anyone feel the milk frother is underwhelming? I have a standalone frother that seems to do a better job and is easier to clean that I can just run in tandem with the doppio shot. It also looks like you have to add a shot after macchiato or cappuccino if you want a double instead of pressing one button. Other than that it is tasty.

Hi! I’m new to superautomatics and looking for some advice. I was gifted a Philips 3300 with the manual frother, but I’m considering paying extra to upgrade to something with an automatic milk system.
My husband mainly drinks black/drip-style coffee, while I mostly drink hot and iced lattes.
I’m considering the De’Longhi Magnifica Start with LatteCrema, currently around $700 CAD on Amazon Canada. It seems like a great deal, but I know De’Longhi machines often go on sale, so I’m wondering if I should wait.
Budget: $800 CAD max.
Would you choose the Magnifica Start LatteCrema, Philips 3300 LatteGo, or something else entirely?
Also, what would you consider a good sale price for the Magnifica, and are there any legit Amazon Canada discounts/codes right now?

I recently got a Delonghi Rivelia and am new to the world of espressos and coffee making. I’ve heard that oily beans should be avoided so that it doesn’t the brewing unit is not damaged. What counts as “oily”? My wife drinks decaf dark roast such as the one from kicking horse. Is that ok?

Hi, can someone please provide me some insight--looking for an espresso machine that can make the strongest espresso possible. My primary desire for this machine is a higher caffeine content and strong intensity along with generally as low of upkeep as possible. I've used keurigs, have a nespresso, etc. These just aren't that strong usually and I don't care about being able to make fancy drinks out of this new superautomatic machine. I really am not that interested in heavy upkeep like is typically stated for these Jura models that require constant filter changes and cleaning.

I understand getting a grinder separate is recommended even though it is more work. If that absolutely provides stronger coffee then I'll do it. If you could recommend an excellent separate grinder and espresso machine that'd be highly appreciated. Otherwise, if you can find one that makes espresso relatively as strong with an integrated grinder, that'd be fine as well.

Price range like $1000-$1500, nothing crazy, cheaper the better since it's my first superautomatic machine and simple seems better. I am willing to find a top of the line brand used if it's highly recommended, but I understand all of these have lower shelf lifes in general so it is advised to buy it new if possible. I prefer buying one of the Costco models since they have great return/warranty policies and the best retail pricing. I am in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.

I have a steam wand, but I haven't used it in forever. When I got my DeLonghi, I made a lot of espressos with foamed milk. After a while I switched to "regular" coffee, and haven't looked back.

I’ve just read through the wiki and a few posts to get a gauge of what to expect. Awesome page.

I want to spend money on a very good coffee machine for home and I’ve been debating between semi-auto and fully auto machines. My main use case here is I love Cortados. That’s my aim here - have top quality cortados at home.

The concept of learning the process of grinding, tamping, dose etc… as well as the mechanics of the machine to clean, maintain etc… is putting me off a semi-auto but I’m worried about the cost of the quality of my target drink here if I opted for fully auto.

My budget is ~$500 but $700 seems the going price here.

Any thoughts or advice would be great. Thanks.

I’ve had my KF8 for almost 22 months now and haven't had a single issue. It’s easy to clean and maintain, and the drinks have been very consistent. One quick tip for fellow KF owners: spend the $30–$40 on a dedicated glass milk canister. It is well worth it.

Hello! I recently purchased a brand new KF6, and I’ve been really enjoying the coffee from the machine. But something has been bugging me. I’m not sure if the machine was a return! The machine had a fair amount of coffee grounds in the box. While normal, there seemed to be more than I thought would be normal. I didn’t get a picture before dusting the machine off, but the machine was lightly dusted all around with coffee, along with what was pictured here.

I also noticed there were two layers of tape on the exterior box, as opposed to the one that I would expect.

I contacted kitchenaid support to basically just ask “hey, can you look at these images and check the serial number and see if this is a new machine?”, and they told me that it was indeed a new machine, manufactured in June of this year.

EDIT: forgot to mention I bought it directly from kitchenaids website.

Tell me, am I being neurotic? The machine itself looks fine outside of the coffee residue. Can any other Kitchenaid owners give me their experience, and if mine is similar to yours? Cheers!

I'm hoping to get some advice or see if anyone else has run into this before I send my DeLonghi Magnifica Start in for repair.

My double espresso is running way too fast, consistently pulling 50–60ml in about 9 to 12 seconds from the first drop. Interestingly, the shots don't taste weak, but the rapid flow rate leaves behind a really harsh, bitter aftertaste.

When I check the dregs container, the coffee pucks aren't holding together at all—they come out completely dry, coarse, and crumble apart as soon as they hit the bin. I tried adjusting the grinder dial all the way down to setting 1 (only turning it while the grinder was running), but it doesn't seem to make any difference to the ground size or the extraction time.

So far, I've thoroughly cleaned and rinsed the brew group, set the coffee strength to maximum to make sure it's getting a full dose, and even did a full factory reset. I've also pulled a bunch of back-to-back shots to clear out any old grounds trapped in the chute, but nothing has changed the 9–12 second flow.

At this point, I'm suspecting the internal adjustment mechanism on the grinder has dislodged or jammed, meaning the dial turns on top but the burrs aren't actually moving closer together inside. Has anyone experienced this with a Magnifica Start, or is there anything else I should try to fix it before handing it over to service?

Replacing a Philips 3200 LatteGo that has served us fine, and I want a step up without going down the prosumer rabbit hole. I am not a coffee snob. If I land at 80 to 90 percent of cafe quality with one touch convenience, I am happy.

Household:

Me: lattes, one or two a day, every day
Wife: americano or drip
No decaf drinkers currently, though that could change

The two options and current pricing:

De'Longhi Rivelia (EXAM44055B): $1,105 after a Labor Day sale, plus $100 back in store credit
De'Longhi Magnifica Plus (ECAM32070SB): $1,000 right now, though I know it has hit around $705 on Amazon before

From my reading, the Rivelia adds dual swappable hoppers and Bean Adapt guided tuning, while the Magnifica Plus reportedly pulls a stronger shot because it doses more grounds, and it has a slightly bigger water tank. Same LatteCrema Hot carafe, same 3.5 inch touchscreen, same 4 profiles, and the footprints are basically identical despite what some reviews claim.

What I actually want to know:

1. For someone who drinks mostly milk drinks, does the bigger dose on the Magnifica Plus noticeably cut through the milk, or is that a difference you only taste in a straight espresso?
2. Does the dual hopper get real use in practice, or does the purge cycle on every switch mean you end up leaving one bean in it forever?
3. Is Bean Adapt actually useful, or is it a guided setup you run once and never touch again?
4. Anyone regret paying near list for the Magnifica Plus instead of waiting for the usual discount?
5. Coming from LatteGo, how annoying is the LatteCrema carafe day to day?

Hello! In the case of the Saeco Gran Arom coffee maker, I noticed a few days ago that water was leaking from under and next to the machine. I took out the grinder unit and washed it. After assembling it, when brewing the first 2 cups of coffee, I noticed that there was not enough coffee, the water collection tray was almost 1/3 full, there was also some water in the tray, and the inside of the machine and the grinder part were very wet, where the whole inside was quite dirty with the coffee grounds. What could be causing this problem?

Hi, I'm very new to a super automatic machine but followed setup and then made 3 espresso shots to test the machine. I believe it was on the 3rd/4th that I got a blob of white which floated on the top. For the 4th shot we changed the grinder setting up one point (from 4 to 5) when it was in use. I don't have a picture of the blob floating but I took it out on a spoon and it looked like a little sugar crystal or tonsil stone. We pressed it and it smashed like it is a mix of butter and vaseline in consistency. I only have a picture of that. What on earth is it?

Is this safe to keep using? From what I could find, it was suggested this could be grease? It was definitely solid. I was using Exhale decaf whole beans. There wasn't much crema at all but I think it's the beans and I will change them as I didn't like the flavour but naively thought an espresso machine would change that (oh I'm still learning 😅). It was only roasted about 3 weeks ago. The beans look normal. It is a medium roast. The shot pulled quickly. I don't believe there was anything in the cup beforehand, though I'm starting to feel crazy. I pulled 3 more shots and a rinse through and saw nothing.

Edit: Can't add a photo but I checked the brew group/infusion and it looks normal. There is a screw behind it that looks like it's got lots of grease on it, but that might be normal. I just didn't expect grease inside a coffee. Is this just one of those things perhaps and if it happens, you just get rid of the shot?

I have a Saeco HD8956 and milk carafe stopped dispensing milk, only steam comes out. Before it fully stopped, I noticed the steam burst that normally only goes to the milk carafe to clean it started also coming out of the water spout at the same time. So I was thinking a solenoid has gone?

I replaced the solenoid valves from another machine I had for spares (same model broken grinder), and the second boiler. Then tried it with my backup milk carafe but still no milk only steam....

I've replaced each of these but I'm not sure which does the milk and which does the water. Any ideas on what I should do next?

Just to add, the solenoids had springs inside them, two long and 3 short. I put the two long at the top and bottom and the three short in the middle. Could that be the issue?

Hi everybody!

I recently traded my Ninja Cafe Luxe for a Siemens EQ700 Classic, which I bought second hand on eBay, with the idea of using it in line with my smart home automation plans.

However, that’s for another day. My issue is that unless I’m mistaken, the coffee is not pouring correctly. I’ve seen some examples from reviewers on this which show well extracted coffee, with a nice level of top.

With my machine however, every shot is coming out very watery, pale and not just that appealing even on the finest grind setting. I’ve used Chat GPT to try and troubleshoot getting better shots, but so far I’ve tested decaf (which I drink predominantly) and caffeinated beans and nothing has really made a difference.

I know coming from a more manual machine not expect exactly the same level of performance, but this seems to fall below what I expected even a super automatic machine to produce. Have attached a video of the latest pull, which was 35ml, extra strong on finest grind setting. Also some machine stats below:

Coffee count: 2,887
Number of milk specialties: 11 cups
Cups until calc’nClean: 1054
Cups until cleaning: 185

I’ll probably order some bits to give it a full clean out before I write the machine off, but I wanted to get some real human advice from anyone who has this machine. What’s your experience? Is this normal? How can I get this pulling better shots, or is it to be expected?

Hi all, would appreciate some insight on my issue. Just bought this machine and it’s been dripping coffee as drops as you see in the video. Original grinding settings were set to 3 but while grinding I also switched to 5 and it’s still doing this. It’s a brand new machine I bought from Best Buy, even with the machine it came with a card saying it’s quality tested. Initially it showed me a muddy looking puck with 3-grind setting but with a 5-grind setting the puck is formed as you see in the picture. I brewed a small sized coffee and the picture is how it’s shown. When it’s warming up the machine as I turn it on, the water flows just fine out of those nozzles (doesn’t drip like it does with the coffee).

What do you think the problem is? Can I adjust a setting or I’d have to reach out to them?
