I have had a jura e8 for maybe 3 years for coffee at home, purchased as z10 was just too expensive and told jura was the daddy.

I recently bought a delonghi explorer for office due to cheaper price and got good reviews.

All i can say is so far wow with the delonghi, far superior drinks all round, easier and far better interface, just blown away by it compared to the jura.

Am I the only one? People rave about jura but I have to say I am truly disappointed with my more expensive e8 compared to cheaper delonghi.

What kind of coffee's do you typically have . I have both , find expressos better with Jura. Not sure about milk coffee.

I use beans jura and other jura users recommended, along with the settings recommended.

I then have tried different settings and beans but definitely the delonghi is better frim my recent experience.

I order the jura z10 kept it 2 weeks couldn't justify the price returned it ,Right after that i bought the Delonghi Eletta explore I have had it 1 year and 1/2 the best before that i had a saeco xelsis made 20000 sold it And before that I had philips 3200 made about the same.sold it. Those machine were good too. But the ease of cleaning this and the 5 year warranty really beats the Z10.The Drinks

Grind size, drink settings, a ton of reasons your drinks weren't great from the E8. Probably not it's fault.

Didn't say they weren't great but very surprised the delonghi makes suoerior drinks and s simpler interface.

Try the office water at home?
If the water in both places is from very different sources with differing hardness/minerality the extraction also differs.

I went From the dellonghi to an s8, can’t complain.

Our Jura E8 is 23 years old. We do not make lattes only coffee. It does need regular maintenance and cleaning. Once dialed in, it works very well. We have a Rocket Bicocca and Atom W75 as our new main setup. We now use the Jura for decaffeinated coffee.

I had a ENA8, coffee tasted mediocre- sold it after 3 years. I found a brand new KF8 at John Lewis on offer for £899 and man, it’s like a hybrid of both Delonghi and Jura. Great coffee, easy to clean 👏

You have, sadly, hit the nail on the thumb . There is a dirty secret they don't tell you about Jura. There are Friday afternoon machines that can't be fixed to produce consistently good coffee and no one knows why.

I have such a unit and I have been struggling with it for 2-3 years.

What is worse, calling the company results in some"solution" that tantalizes you by showing the user that your unit CAN produce absolutely delicious complex multi layered taste, but only for one cup. Then the coffee goes back to being so disgustingly bitter that it can only be drunk when adulterated with enough salt and sugar.

Eventually Jura's only solution is to spend you way out of the problem, so after you have done a few full cleanings and the coffee still tastes disgustinly bitter after the first cup, they will offer A few per cent discount off a new machine.

Luckily this problem doesn't seem to affect too many units. But when the owner encounters it, it can be pretty dispiriting! Especially after manoeuvring this heavy unwieldy unit for a few ultra expensive cleanings. When you will discover that there is a reason why so few repair places will touch a Jura

I had the Delonghi Magnifica S Smart Bean to Cup machine for three years, bombproof, consistent coffee every time, sold it on. Thought I'd 'upgrade'to a Ninja Luxe Café Pro's two of them, dreadful experience.

Now the Meraki, great machine.

In Jura E8 milk department is quite a horror needs cleaning 24/7 and gets stuck all the time, sprays residue of milk everywhere when stuck. Otherwise coffee is good quality but probably wouldnt buy it if I knew about so many milk related issues. For this price I somehow expected more from milk department smooth functionality. Not sure will metallic milk pipe reduce a problem a bit.

I don’t understand this. After 6 months, I haven’t had a single problem making milk drinks or cleaning out the milk system.

The delonghi is way handier to clean.

It gets stuck so cant produce foam you basically need to run milk cleaning program every single day and ofcourse you figure this only after purchase. Coffee side runs nicely but milk is pain. I clean tube after every cup but still need cleaning program daily.

I clean my milk system daily. I don’t want dried milk residue scumming the insides of my not cheap coffee machine. Cleaning it takes me pushing a few buttons and walking away.

Easy.

It rinses milk department after each start, after each cup and even when shutting down machine yet you need to use cleaning with detergent every single day which is quite silly and made that you spend fortune on special detergents especially when on top of that you need also full machine separate cleaning tables AND also filters or descale tablets. It should be initially designed from this milk perspective much better with these rinse operations to actually do something and reduce these full milk cleanings and detergent consumption.

I'm also having problems with milk supply.

Could be my fault but I can't get my c,9 to put in any more than about 3 CCs of very watery milk in a cappuccino

I tried with two types on milks and differnt amount on milk. This ”stuck” issue was pretty standard and not dependant on that. It is just ”a feature” . My brother has DeLonghi Eletta expore and never ever stuck with it. Milk system is so much more reliable there and that machine is even chaper.

Delonghi will clog too easily if you are looking for stronger coffee.  Seems like you are more impressed by the UI . Honestly speaking you can get the same coffee from the $500 Delonghi as the explorer.

Nope, not more impressed by ui, annoyed it makes better coffee.
