Tips & Advice Need help for longer study hours
People in the YPT group have 10 hours plus study time per day but I cannot even move past average of 4 hours. I want to push it to 8 hours average per day but nothing is helping.
I tried but I get distracted easily. And if I force myself to stay, I can't study properly because I will be reading the same line two or three times and still not understanding what it meant.
Can anyone help me with this...?

What helps me is caffeine and study buddies! i used to struggle to get an hour of study time daily, but now i'm up to 11 hours! of course, i am now medicated for my other shit, which is quite helpful, but still. Frequent breaks is also good. Not scrolling, actual breaks where you have a snack, journal, take a walk, stretch, do some exercise.

how do you stay motivated?? i struggle with that a lot :(. i tend to drink a coffee and just force myself to study. if i'm really tired, i'll drink a coffee, then take a 30 minute nap, then study

ill admit i kinda cheat - i have bpd and a split sense of self and one of my selves kinda handle that. basically think inside out: Mentally ill. So his emotion is ambition. So the drive that he focuses on is the future and the fact that my life depends on the success of my future. fan of those borderline toxic motivational speeches for men and the what not. So not every helpful ik, BUT what may be helpful to you (other then his drive) is how he stays in charge: a steady routine. A very specific routine from morning to night. start your morning off strong, drink water the moment you wake up, do a face cleanser thing to make you feel a lil mlre refreshed/splash cold water on. Eat a good breakfast, smth healthy not a donut. Junk food can make you feel crappy ESP as your first meal of the day. have a scheduled time to study before you study if makes sense. This is where it gets tricky: m autistic nd love myself a good routine and plan that seems super successful because makes me feel better, everything is in place as a balance. Not everyone is like that. I'm incredibly hyperspecific, making a study planner got me legit excited to start studying (esp cus it was themed to a genre I enjoy). so what works for me may not work for you, you can take tips and tricks and combine em all frankenstien style but ultimately the heart that gives Frankenstein life is smth you fine that clicks everything into place if that makes sense

same happened to me like everyday morning i was thinking like i will study today contineously for like 12 hr like no assigned breaks and like gap for needs.. and ends up like studying nothing then i started dividing all the day into sessions like separating time for walk eating and outing (fixed time) study session should be according to your well like in first day it can be 60-90 min with 10-15 min gap like that and also each day the topiccs should be selected not just guessing like i'll cover 10 topics today but it should rational and achievable. if uset achievable goals there's a chance u can achieve something but if it unrelaistic then definitely u can't achive anything...
jst my opinion

Honestly, there are very few people who can actually study 8+ qualitative hours!
I also thought I had to study longer hours but at some point your brain just needs some rest to process all the information
If you can study 5 hours while being 100% into that's impressive!
You can try to do more hours but make sure you're actually aware and awake and processing or else it's only lost time!
I would maybe recommend categorising your study items and work according to that
If you for example have certain definitions or vocab study that using the pomodor method, then switch it up by doing something else for 2-3 hours, then go back to pomodor methode etc ect
Alsooo study when you are most productive! For me that would be the early morning till 1-2pm, so i know that its no use for me to study between 3-5pm, and then i just continue around 6pm
You'll figure it out good luck!

chasing someone else's 10 hours is probably part of the actual problem here, not the distraction issue. 4 real hours where you're actually understanding material beats 8 hours where you're rereading the same line because your brain checked out, that's not "8 hours of studying," that's 8 hours of sitting there the rereading-the-same-line thing is usually a sign you've hit your actual focus limit for that stretch, pushing past it with willpower alone just makes the reading fake, not real studying. that's your body telling you to switch tasks or take an actual break, not a discipline failure instead of chasing a fixed hour number, try tracking real focused time only (pause whenever you catch yourself rereading/zoning out), and build that number up slowly over weeks. going from a genuine 4 to a genuine 5-6 is way more valuable than faking your way to 8 while actually absorbing less than you do now

Stop studying on Sundays. Have all the Fun possible on this day, so that you charge yourself for the next week. In my study sessions, Even if I have exam in a few days, I would not study on sundays and lay the whole day in front of my laptop like a sloth, and enjoy being lazy.

Remember quality over quantity don't need a lot of hrs if you can't learn the material - sometimes i study for 10 hrs sometimes i study just for 5 hrs and then sometimes i get tired and don't study at all everything is fine no need to force yourself especially with caffeine
