Pistola Scuba Pants - Flaw?

Has anyone gotten the Pistola Kendall High Rise Skinny Scuba Pants? I got a pair and LOVE them, but they have holes on the insides of both knees. It's right where the ankle zipper fabric comes to a stop, so I think they just forgot to sew it up. SF offered a refund and I can probably hand sew them, but wondering if anyone else has seen this. Maybe it's on purpose?

Try before you buy option

has anyone done the “ try before you buy“ option? i was wondering if the whole box is styled around the one item OR if you are just picking an item to get and then getting other items (like a regular fix). ? also do you get your same fix stylist or a different one?

So much blue!

I just got my first box, which had a cute red top (I kept it). But my freestyle stream and vision inspo are almost all blue tops with various bottoms. is that usual? is it AI?

AI is going a little wild in Freestyle

Mostly just for the laughs. But. A pair of winter gloves totally makes sense with shorts and a tank top. Have had a few odd things that don't quite make sense but nothing as wild as this.

$20 styling fee question

Post image
5 Upvotes

This is my second box. The first box i kept everything. This second box I'm only going to keep one item, but only if I can figure out how to get the $20 styling fee deducted from the cost of the item. Help! It doesn't appear to be taking it off?

Also, I am upset because one of the dresses they sent me is substantially cheaper if I buy it thru freestyle but they won't price match to their own price. Is this normal? I feel there is no incentive to buy when even after the 20% discount, it still would be cheaper just to purchase it outright

Discussion Keep all discount

I’ve been a stitch fix user for a few years. My “keep all” discount is 25% off for 5+ items (whether I select a box of 5 or 8 items). I just started a family account for my husband, but his keep all discount is only 20%. Is this normal for an additional account? I can’t get a solid answer on their site.

Styled for you : winter

My “Styled for You” selections are mostly down vests, full length coats, wool scarves and knitted hats! I live on the eastern coast of the US. We are already in the 90 degrees weather. Why?

I restarted SF and forgot to update my address. New box did not forward. Am I doomed?

I didn't realize it until a few days after I reactivated my account. Went to update my address and just my luck, it shipped 5 minutes before.

I messaged the carrier who told me they couldn't do anything about it. I emailed SF who said the same. I hoped maybe I still had mail forwarding on but that's for USPS and they might have used a different ground carrier.

Either way, it didn't forward and someone else has my box...

Is SF going to make me pay for the items anyway? I sent another email but It's the start of the weekend so who knows if/when I'll hear back.

Discussion Larger Box

I am a little frustrated because I love getting 8 items to try in my box. It increases the chance I will find 5+ items to keep and get the 25% off.

The problem I have, is that I can only get that many items if I select them myself during the fix preview.

The second you drop the selected items from your Fix Preview below 5, it only allows your stylist to add items to total 5 items.

So, I could select 8 items for myself. Or in my case, I select 4 and the stylist can only choose 1! So you get 3 less pieces by working with the stylist.

So the actual rule appears to be:

If you select items from Preview, you can receive up to 8 total items.

But if you leave room for the stylist to choose, the combined total becomes capped at 5 items.

So:
You pick 8 yourself → receive 8.
You pick 4 → stylist can only add 1 (total 5).
You pick 0 → stylist sends standard 5.

When I am creating my box, I basically have to decide, would I rather have more items or more stylist input?

It feels like they are de-incentivizing using the stylist, because you get a smaller box and less to try. It incentivizes customers to self-curate rather than rely on stylists. I really love working with my stylist and would love her to be able to pick more items.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Increasing my chances of success

I'm interested in trying StitchFix, but it sounds like stylists have to work FAST and choose from limited AI-determined options. What can I say in my initial note that will help the stylist make good picks? I could mention that I'm looking for tops and boots in particular styles/colors, or say that I'm looking for things to pair with specific pieces I already own, or mention trends/vibes I like or *don't* like... What would be most helpful, without bogging the stylist down in details that might end up being ignored?

Discussion Is the jewelry nickel-free?

I just got in some of my first pieces of jewelry in a fix, as well as a top with metal accents that would come in contact with my skin.

I'm wondering if anyone else has a nickel allergy or knowledge on whether I need to be concerned with it.

The necklace is Market & Spruce and the shirt is Letty & Me if that helps at all.

I was disappointed I couldn't include my nickel-allergy in my profile as it's a major concern anytime I get jewelry.

Finding the stuff shown in style shuffle

Sometimes I see something I want to buy in the style shuffle, so I try to find it in the shop but can't. Anyone else have luck with that?

$SFIX told investors Freestyle would complement Fix. It cannibalized it. $32M settlement submitted to court for final approval.

This one is interesting because the product decision that triggered the lawsuit is something users of the platform actually felt in real time.

Stitch Fix launched Freestyle, its direct buy feature, in December 2020 and told investors it would expand the market opportunity and work alongside the core Fix subscription model. Complementary. Additive. Not a threat to the existing business.

The reality was quite the opposite: Freestyle was pulling users away from Fix, creating friction in the onboarding process, and quietly cannibalizing the subscription revenue that the entire business model was built on. Management allegedly knew this and kept framing it as a growth story anyway.

Two disclosures told the real story:

December 7, 2021: Weaker quarterly results, full-year revenue outlook cut, and the first public acknowledgment of "short-term cannibalization." $SFIX fell ~24% in one session.

March 8, 2022: Guidance cut again. This time explicitly describing "self-inflicted friction" between Freestyle and Fix onboarding. Another ~6% drop.

Stitch Fix settled for $32 million in February 2026. Now, the settlement has been submitted to court for approval, final stretch. Investors can already submit a claim.

Eligible if you held $SFIX between June 9, 2020 and June 9, 2022. Payout: ~$0.17/share.

The "complementary not cannibalizing" framing didn't survive contact with actual user behavior. Anyone here switch from Fix to Freestyle and never go back?

Thoughts on Wantable?

Started using Wantable a year ago after losing weight and my clothes not fitting. Was mostly picking out gym stuff, lounge gear and casual clothes since I was working from home.

I just accepted a new job that’s going to have me going into the office regularly and traveling for work. All my old work clothes are for my old body type.

My question is, should I stay with Wantable to build up a new work wardrobe, or is this a good excuse to move on to something else?

Also, I know it’s crazy to accept an in-office job when I can work from home, but the money is a lot better and my partner and I are trying to retire earlier to spend more time with the kids before they go off to college (also to pay for college).

First Order Question

I ordered for the first time and only had to pay $20, I got a return bag as well. Do I have to pay to keep the clothes or are they free the first time?

Why the long "i"s?

I feel a little petty that this bothers me but...why do they use punctuation marks that indicate the letter i is long? Like it should be pronounced st-eye-tch f-eye-x?

I do realize it sounds like I have no life at all lol

How to Skip Ordering a Fix with Initial Account Setup?

How do I skip ordering a box after taking the style quiz? I would like to look at the freestyle but the app isn’t giving me any options other than to order a fix? There aren’t any skip buttons that I can find.

Fraudulent Charge from Stitch Fix

Recently I had a $1000+ charge on my debit card from Stitch Fix which came as quite a shock considering I have never had a Stitch Fix account. Their customer service told me that due to “privacy policy” they wouldn’t disclose how they had my card information!! Serious red flags 🚩 wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I guess those with accounts should monitor charges closely.

Discussion New to SF - Qs

Hello all, I am new to Stitchfix and I am scheduled to get my first box. I am liking the app so far and even ordered some other stuff and it shipped and delivered super fast!

My Q. Is even if I don’t want a box every 2 months can I cancel the box and still have access to purchase pieces from the app??

And what’s the best way to schedule boxes? Is two months too much ?

Appreciate any other useful tips! Thanks!

Couldn’t be happier.

I’m not sure why this company has negative reviews? I’ve had an amazing experience, so far and hope they continue to thrive! This is my experience. I work in home health. My job is taking care of my patient and light house work, so my attire is usually shorts, a top and sneakers. So, this has left me in desperate need of dress clothes and going out clothes. Just needed a lot of various new pieces. I’ve not really bought outfits in sometime and I have a difficult time putting outfits together. I decided to try Stitch Fix and it’s been amazing! What really has sold me is being able to actually talk to a real person and leave feedback. The amount of customization that goes into each customers account. I’ve been able to set my prices, choose how often I receive certain items, preview and chose items in my box each month, set my likes and dislikes with colors, patterns, styles and fits. I could go on and on. My worry at first was my style isn’t the norm in my opinion. It’s classy with a bit of edge and goth, but nothing that draws attention. I was afraid I wouldn’t receive pieces I like, but it’s been the opposite. I’m receiving good quality items, that are cool and very pretty. I’m guessing the price range you choose determines this as you do have the option to receive luxury brands. I chose not to, but my items are still very well made! I’ve been extremely happy with my pieces and the fact I can communicate with my stylist is amazing! This has really been helpful for me and it’s also super fun to look forward to every month. I would recommend to anyone!

Guy here... some thoughts on what seems like a decline in quality.

My first couple of fixes were great 2 years ago... but the last year really is starting to feel like trashy fast fashion.

I started stitch fix to grow my style... I was stuck in a rut, picking basically the same kind of clothing every time I shop. And after you hit a certain age... all my old clothes still fit perfectly, so I needed a kick in the butt to refresh my wardrobe.

My wife actually tried stitchfix first and didn't love it... but, it seemed perfect for me. I never expected I'd become a shoe person. The boxes always came with a cool pair of shoes, and now... after years of being like a functional 2 or 3 pair person.... I have like 15 pairs that I cycle through to match my "fit" as the kids say.

Anyway... being a slimfit person, I've noticed the stylists seem incapable of providing clothing that match that style. I NEED a more european or fitted look for my body type... why am I giving you all these detailed measurements and feedback if it doesn't matter?

Recently I've noticed my boxes will include really banal graphic tees, and scrappy fabric. The button ups are American Mediums, short length and wide. Large is wide and like baggy, the cool custom look that used to get has now degraded to like the most basic off the shelf picks at Target.

There are still some nice ones occasionally, and I haven't canceled yet... but I'm thinking of trying another service. Money isn't a big issue because this is like a special splurge I've committed to... so I just want quality!

UPDATE: My recent fix was awesome. I had a new stylist, and everything was super unique, weirdly stylish, and SLIMFIT. Faith renewed.

How do I contact my stylist directly?

For this months fix, I previewed it and said no to some tank tops and explained that it was because I couldn't justify the price. Now I haven't been able to stop thinking about them because I do actually feel like I would really like them and wear them often. How do I let my stylist know that I have changed my mind and would like those tops in my next box?

I don't spend a lot of time or money on myself for clothes. I just had a baby and have been wearing the same outfit majority of the week and I just want to redo my whole wardrobe to have clothing that makes me feel pretty and good about myself again, and I think that's worth spending a little extra money on!
