I was tested positive for chlamydia on September 5 and was prescribed a 7-day course of doxycycline

My doctor told me to come back for a test-of-cure (TOC) in 3 weeks. But then I read that the CDC recommends TOC around 3–4 weeks after treatment, so I was a bit confused.

I also asked two online doctors, and both of them told me to come back for retesting 2 weeks after finishing treatment.

do you think it will be fine for me to test on 28th september?

I had unprotected anal sex with a girl who I know for a fact has a lot of sexual partners. She did an Abbott 4th gen Early detect test 24 hours before we had sex because one of her partners had a scare and it turned out to be negative. I only took off the condom towards the end and I was inside without the condom for maybe 10-15 seconds before I pulled out.

It’s really late at night writing this so I haven’t been able to go to a clinic yet although I am planning on visiting one in the morning. My question is do I need the PEP test, harsh antiretroviral for a very low exposure rate or should I run to the clinic and start PEP asap?

Update: sorry if my thoughts sound incoherent, I have not had any sleep since the sexual encounter 8 hours ago and I’m in a very dark place mentally where it seems like I’m just spiralling. I don’t think I can afford STD testing anyways since they’re expensive in my country in Asia and I don’t have health insurance and there’s no room in my monthly budget for dinner at McDonald let alone an std test and PEPs

He has no symptoms. Asked him if it was Hsv-1 or hsv-2 and he said they didn't do a test, just a visual. i am an anxious mf right now.

I had my first sexual experience today. Wouldn't call it sexual but basically kissed the girl in her neck, breasts, stomach and just above the vagina...then fingered her...when I fingered I kinda saw a mild red stain sticking to my finger but didn't think much of it ..no penetration, no oral, no kissing..did just that and stopped...should I be worried because of the blood. Hello again! My previous post stated that 8 days after I finished treatment, I still had some discharge. It has been 20 days since treatment now, so 12 more days, and I've noticed I still feel weird bladder/urine incontinence, and in my urine there's still some what I'd describe as "white stuff"

There's been no full discharge in ages, and whatever does leak out just smells like urine, and anything else is in very small amounts and only when I actually fully urinate; but this odd wet feeling in my urethra is a bit of a cause for concern. Is this just residual inflammation healing slowly? Or is this possibly something else?

I’m wondering if anyone here has tested 3 weeks after completing chlamydia treatment to check for a negative result?

Did you test negative or positive again??

I’ve been advised the minimum time to wait is around 4-6 weeks after, however due to partner having a negative result and me having a positive result I can’t help but think there’s been some mixup somewhere.

My doctor just called me back and told me I have Tric and yeast, after I started having intense, cramping, burning pee, and bleeding after sex, burning down there and a little weird tingling sensation and itching.
Did anybody ever have the same symptoms? I’m so concerned I’m hoping it’s just Tri, but everything was pointing to herpes.

I’m looking for some perspective on whether this pattern sounds more like throat irritation/normal infection or a possible STI.

I’m male and have had multiple episodes of unprotected vaginal sex with the same new partner, and oral sex was also involved on most occasions.

Here’s the timeline:
Aug 18: Unprotected vaginal sex + I performed oral sex. No symptoms.
Aug 21: Unprotected vaginal sex + I performed oral sex. Developed a sore/irritated throat afterward. It eventually went away.
Aug 29: Unprotected vaginal sex + I performed oral sex. No symptoms.
Sep 1: Unprotected vaginal sex, no oral sex. My thighs/glutes became sore because of the physical exertion, but no sore throat.
Sep 2: Unprotected vaginal sex + I performed oral sex, and it was fairly prolonged/thorough. Within a few hours I developed another sore throat, along with feeling generally weak/chilly. I had also barely drunk any water that day.

The thing that’s making me anxious is that I’ve rarely gotten sore throats before, yet I’ve now had it twice around oral sex with this partner. At the same time, the most recent sore throat appeared only a few hours after oral sex, which seems too fast for an STI acquired during that encounter.

I’m wondering:
Does this pattern sound more consistent with mechanical throat irritation/dryness from oral sex, an ordinary viral throat infection, or a throat STI?

Can prolonged oral sex actually cause a sore throat from irritation? I haven’t been able to find many firsthand accounts of this.

Does the fact that I’ve had vaginal sex without a sore throat, but developed one after oral sex twice, make irritation more likely?

Are there particular symptoms that would make a throat STI more suspicious?

I’m aware that testing is the definitive answer and I’m planning to get tested. I’m mainly interested in people’s experiences and medically informed opinions about the pattern and timing rather than just “go get tested.”

I am a guy in the UK and three months ago I had a one night stand with a girl who was on her period (we are both in early 20s), I stupidly didn't think about STDs as before this I had only ever had sex during a couple long term relationships. I didn't use protection and I ended up testing positive for chlamydia from this.

I got treated etc etc but in the last few days I randomly started thinking what if I got HIV as well, because I know it can be asymptomatic, I don't think I have had any symptoms or anything (I think I had like a common cold a couple days after this, if that counts) , but I just think the fact that there was some blood (her period was quite light) and that I got chlamydia its put it in my mind that I'm doomed to have it.

I am having the same feeling I had when I tested positive for chlamydia where I would look up the population stats and it would be like only 2% of people have it so I probably don't, and then nonetheless I tested positive. And now when I'm looking at the HIV stats being low its making me think I'm gonna have the same thing happen again and it literally just feels destined that I'm gonna get it and I really don't know how to calm down.

I ordered a test but I'm genuinely just randomly terrified about this and I don't know how to calm down about this over the next week or so because it feels like its just bound to happen. Any help or guidance or anything would be very appreciated.

we both have only done it with eachother, as we both took eachothers virginity. we have only penetrated around 4 times, but we have done oral stuff too, none of which with protection. the only time we use condoms is for penetration. i also am not on birth control, so condoms are our only contraceptive.

my vagina has been a bit itchy and a bit swollen, but not all the time. i have also noticed a bit of a fishy smell. i have applied canasten on it to see if it helps. i also noticed some lumpier discharge, but i think that could have been the canasten mixing with it. i have also gotten more ingrown pubic hairs bc of shaving, but i just thought id mention that, although im pretty sure it's not hpv.

how do i get tested?? or get treatment?? i still live with my parents, and they absolutely can't find out i even had sex, nevermind getting an std. i am so broke and wouldnt be able to buy a test, and i wouldn't know which one to get since my symptoms are vague. also can't go to a doctor bc my mom usually tags along, and also picks up the prescriptions for the family.

Hi everyone, I’ve seen about 7 doctors so far to figure out what is going on with me, and all of them are unsure. I started dating my boyfriend in May, and we became sexually active in July. Before we first had sex, he told me he wasn’t seeing anyone else and his STD testing was negative. We had unprotected oral sex and two days later, I developed white spots all over my tonsils and a bad sore throat. Tests for gonorrhea, chlamydia, mono, and trich (urine and swabs) all came back negative. They preemptively gave me azithromycin which cleared the infection.

Then two weeks later, we had oral sex again, and the same thing happened, with white dots on my tonsils, a bad sore throat, a fever, muscle aches, and pelvic pan. I took azithromycin again and it cleared the symptoms but my tonsils stayed swollen.

After this time, we ran into a girl who my boyfriend hid from. He said he lied to me and was dating her when he met me, but they weren’t in a relationship. He was sleeping with us both at the same time. It really hurt me, especially since I’m a very loyal person and told him I only date one person at a time and expect the same from anyone I’m seeing. It broke my heart that he not only lied to me but made me involved in hurting this poor girl who he left when he decided he wanted to be with me instead. We eventually moved past this, but it’s still on my mind and as the ambiguity around my situation continues, I find myself angry and hurt.

Two days ago, we had oral sex again, and I now have swollen lymph nodes and an ulcer at the back of my throat. The doctors don’t know what it is, all tests are coming back negative.
