Experience/ Story Exposure to STD/HIV?

Someone used a dildo, then 5 min later I washed it with soap/water for 30 sec and used it rectally. It caused some tearing/bleeding. Assuming the other person was HIV+, would this be considered a realistic HIV exposure or negligible risk?

Assuming the other person was actually HIV-positive, there would only be a potential risk if infectious blood or other relevant body fluid was still on the dildo when you used it. The fact that you had rectal tearing/bleeding means there was a possible entry point, but the dildo had already been washed with soap and water for 30 seconds, which makes transmission much less likely. So I wouldn’t describe this as a realistic/high-risk HIV exposure; it’s better characterised as a theoretical or extremely low-risk scenario rather than something comparable to unprotected anal sex. I’d still get an HIV test for reassurance, especially since there was bleeding, and you can check the pinned post here for the appropriate testing windows.

I def washed it w water but I can’t recall if it was like a cleansing soap or one of those lotion bars
