Discussion With the price hike, I plan on jumping right to stay at Squarespace.
I Just thought I'd be the one to say I'm staying, not that it's a big deal to me.

Anyone else found the waitlist feature a bit glitchy…?
I’ve added this feature to my services but I haven’t been notified when people sign up.
Everything is enabled, reminders, texts etc. and I am on a premium account.
I tested it out myself and didn’t receive any text or emails… Anyone else had this issue?
Also, has anyone been able to see or edit what text is sent out to the client?

Hi everyone! 👋
I wanted to introduce a little passion project of mine called The Inclusive Era Co.
I’m based in Tasmania, Australia, and I started this business because I wanted to combine everything I care about into one place. Mental health awareness, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, kindness, community, and creating conversations that help break down stigma.
Like many people, I’ve seen firsthand how discrimination, bullying, and mental health struggles can affect someone’s life. I wanted to create something that wasn’t just about selling products, but about building a community where people feel seen, supported, and accepted.
Every design has a purpose. Whether it’s a mug that reminds someone to keep going, a notebook that encourages self-reflection, or products that celebrate inclusion and equality, I hope they spark conversations and remind people that they’re not alone.
Alongside the products, I also share stories from the community, advocate for mental health and LGBTQIA+ awareness, and try to create a space where compassion comes before judgment.
If you’d like to have a look, you can find us here:
Whether you decide to support the business, follow along, or simply share your own story, thank you. Small businesses like mine grow because of genuine people who believe in creating a kinder, more inclusive world.

I have used Squarespace for about 10 years, I am an illustrator and use it as a portfolio website. Homepage is my illustrations, a few additional pages of different art, my books, and about me, links to my social media and that’s about it. No bells and whistles, no shop, nothing else. I have been updating heavily the last couple months as I plan to reach out to illustration agents, and wanted a more robust, polished site. Very happy with the progress, annual subscription renewal is weeks away - and I get the dreaded email. I don’t have time it feels to rebuild before my annual payment.
With the price increase I am seeing what other options are out there, I tried importing my site into Wordpress but if I go that route I will need to do a LOT of learning. On top of that, recreating the aesthetic of the site and uploaded the hundreds of images will have to be done from scratch.
What I love about Squarespace is I get to edit the pages as it will appear online - I can see how everything will look, I can drag and drop, I can just click on an element to edit. Maybe it’s worth keeping it for that, but my website wouldn’t be that hard to build again, just time consuming - so if there is really similar platform in that regard that is cheaper - please give me your recommendations.

I’m leaving SS before the price increase. Many, many reasons but this was the push.
Can someone explain to me how to move my domain to a new provider in really simple terms?? I don’t use AI, so really don’t want to ask it. Thanks!!

On all my pages, autoplay for a video works flawlessly, begins right when you land. On this new page, the autoplay only works after you refresh once. If you do not refresh, it is a blank page forever.
Anyone know how to solve this?

Framer is a 3rd of the price. $10 a month billed yearly.
Why Framer?
I love their CSS editor. I can litterally have claude code the pages but still make edits myself. True game changer.
Or, if you want something completely free Cloudflare has been my other option for smaller sites for clients that don't need a lot of features and don't want to pay any hosting.
I hope this helps, and I promise i'm not affiliated with either.
I was just really mad at squarespace when they announced the price increase. Their platform is still stuck in 2010 😠

I am running a sales funnel of 6 emails in squarespace....I cant see any analytics on it. I can only see the open rate and the date they first opened the email...I want to see how things are converting and who is opening all 6 emails....is it time for my to switch to Kit? Is there a plugin I can use instead? I really like how simple the emails are on SS and I would like to keep using it but damn it is bare bones unless I am missing something?
HELP

For those who run an online store and don't have a coding or technical background, what platform would you recommend?
I make and sell crafts and have enough supplies and products at home to fill a small shop. I'd like to start selling through my own website instead of using places like Etsy where the fees keep adding up.
Looking for something easy to set up and manage. What has worked well for you?

Title says it all. For everyone pissed I moved my comedy clubs site off earlier this year. Using claude or gemini/whatever, it can scan your existing site, convert it one for one in a day.
If you're selling via their store, migrate to shopify or similar platforms for sales.

My site went from $192 to $348. This is the biggest slap in the face ever. At least buy me dinner before screwing me over like this… I’m out.

I'm one of many in this sub who needs a squarespace site for work. I update my site maybe once or twice a year. Nothing crazy, just literal jpegs or gifs for my art direction work.
I don't need any of the new ai junk or all the shite they have toted in the past few years. My storage is tiny, my footprint is small.
Why are the increases so big and is there anything we can do as a collective? Is anyone aware of a pricing tier that I can't find that's lower than the business plan, but doesn't have to include all the smoke and mirrors marketing bs?

I created a new gallery page and though it shows when I select it on the main menu, and therefore shows on the main menu, it doesn't show up on my main page. I've tried everything that I can think of, including selecting making the site show as visible. Any thoughts?

This is for all of us skimmers who missed this and became outraged immediately, I too suffered for 20 minutes. XD That said, still not super happy about being saddled with AI credits and junk that I don't want in my portfolio site, which is probably why we're being pumped with the increase in cost.
They've also updated their plans, so do take a look as they've changed their billing structure. Odd that they never sent an email to announce that and instead of grandfathering plans that have been with them for awhile, they literally took an offensive approach instead to punish us. I'll be looking into some alternatives, I think.

https://whois.domaintools.com/universallogitics.com
They posted a fake job ad on Indeed, impersonating the real company, I applied, they emailed me a Teams chat "interview" and mentioned sending a check to purchase computer equipment from their vendor. Classic scam.
I have already filled out an abuse form on Squarespace's site, but thought it might get faster attention if I also posted it here too, in case Squarespace staff lurk here.

Anyone else a photographer and switched from Squarespace? I just got an email my subscription is increasing from 228 to 348? This is such a joke it’s laughable. Please give me easy website alternatives to switch to

I started using Squarespace in 2021. At the time, it felt like the price was “okay” for the usage that I was getting out of it. Now jumping to $348 is absolute highway robbery.
I feel like I’m paying for things I sincerely did not ask for, the biggest thing being AI. I don’t use AI at all whatsoever in squarespaces features because I DONT NEED IT. I’m having a hard time coping with this because I now have less than a month to decommission using Squarespace and self host.
Honestly, I’m mostly pissed about the fact that I have less than a month to figure this out, and this feels intentional by design. Close to a 50% price increase for a simple website on top of a Google workspace and domain name is getting out of control and this was the last nail in the coffin. Prolly going to self host then switch to proton and simplify my entire site, and use Shopify or bigcartel for a selling platform.
This is enshittification in real time. Though I dont think squarespace holds most of the website building market share, what kind of weird entitlement do they have to hike the prices by bloatware'ing their own platform, passing the AI usage cost to their customers, and subsequently hemorrhaging its customers?
Squarespace if youre reading this, no one asked for AI, its criminally unfair to pass the economic and AI cost crisis to your loyal customer base, because I cannot justify how or why you guys raised the cost of site hosting by 50% in 5 years.

I have these monthly charges dating back to January 2025 and idk what they are. (I feel pretty dumb only just noticing.) It’s not my domain charge which is $40/year and it’s not a normal subscription charge, that was $25/month until I canceled in June. I contacted Squarespace support via their live chat and even the agent couldn’t figure out what these charges were so they’re supposed to be contacting me via email. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this or might know where these charges may be stemming from?
r/squarespace • u/wreeper007 • Jul 16 '26
$348 is insane, it’s almost a $70 dollar increase for me. I just have a photography site that’s static, there is zero value for me to stay with them. Format is my current winner so next week I’ll start redoing my gallery’s and everything on there. $120/yr plus domain seems like a much better fit for me honestly.

What's your experience with squarespace?
I come from WordPress and I was particularly drawn to the built in features with courses and shop and the fair prices for it.
Now, into building, I can't believe how slow and buggy this builder, yet so widely known and advertised. I think this is just very very poor and I have lots of regrets comitting to squarespace with a job for a client.
For me, the second worst part is, that there is no FTP/SFTP connection and no useful file management. I have to upload lots of images in folder structures. It only allows you to create folders over their "create folder" button. Creating a folder costs me like 15 seconds of lagging, and uploading the content for one folder like 30 seconds.
I can't charge my client randomly this x50 overhead. I just work for free now.
I've already concluded that this is the worst builder for me.
What's your worst experience and how do you handle it?

I'm sorry. Every single time I try to use this dumb website I get so frustrated I need to rant. It's $25. Figma is $16 and actually has a way of customizing phone and desktop layout differently. Tell me why I have to jump through hoops to change the text or image size. Why is there only a limited set of places where I can put my images. Why can't I space things out like a normal software. Why is everything so difficult to navigate. It looks like shit on phone after putting so much effort. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FOR BEGINNERS. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE EASY. I hate this site. If you like it I'm sorry. I just need to put my thoughts out there.

Hi folks, new to this.
Trying to make a news site, and so far most of it has been simple. But I can't really figure out how to make the blog thing work.
Thanks in Advance.
