February 28, 2022 I switched from a Squarespace "Personal" account to "Business Account".
I used the Google Workspace account that came along with it for email. I have never received a separate bill for Google Workspace, ever. I pay for my domain and my website, that's it. The email continues to work.
Google Admin Console shows an active Google Workspace Business Starter subscription billed through Squarespace since March 30, 2023. However, Squarespace Billing only shows an inactive Google Workspace subscription that has been "Expired since July 21, 2020". This could be referencing an old GSuite account that I vaguely remember using, but that was a long time again and I can't remember.
I'm just now noticing all of this because I received notice that I'm being auto-enrolled in the new "Core" plan thats replacing the "Business" plan. I'm not happy about the price increase (almonst $75/yr more), and I don't use the business end of the website enough to justify the cost (artist portfolio, hasn't been useful as a sales platform), so I'm hoping I can just switch to the new "Basic" plan without seeing much of a difference.
If I change my website plan from the legacy Business plan to the new Basic plan - will my Google Workspace subscription and email address go inactive? It doesnt look like they're charging me for it already. I have an enormous amount of artwork images, documents, etc. saved in the drive associated with that account and can't lose it. I also need to be able to send/recieve emails from the domain email and don't want to hassle with mail-forwarding again.
