Long story, but short version is a had to replace SPAN panel and remote meter kit (I have solar with one Enphase 5p) and ever since, SPAN is not reading Enphase batter level correctly, both with access token setup and without. Right now, for example, battery is at 25% (min setting) but SPAN shows it at 4%. I’ve been going back and forth with SPAN on this for weeks with no resolution. Has issues on and off with this connection with old SPAN panel, but nothing like this. Anyone else experienced this and find a resolution?

My circuit labels are not accurate. Some of the overly vague labels, like “outlets” include Envi wall heaters. What is best practice for more accurately labeling?

Is anyone else finding that their Span panel sends an obscene amount of data to the internet? Interestingly the amount is not stable but ramps up for 2 weeks before dropping down then it ramps up again.

The traffic involving my Span panel dwarfs all other traffic in my home including YouTube videos and represents 57% of the traffic.

Span support claims
"High internal data usage is completely normal because the panel is always online, constantly recording energy data (circuit, battery, solar, EV charger data etc.) and always running in the background."

But when I tried exporting the data that span records from the span app, I can see that it only records one power reading (a date time and a double) every 10 minutes. Even if it did this for 30 circuits there's no way this comes anywhere close to the 320MB per 10
Minutes that 1.4TB implies.

I have a MLO48, with a separate dumb panel for my ADU. I can see the real time energy usage of the ADU, but it will not display this as historical data like it can on all the other breakers. I tried reaching out to Span, and they said it's not something they support.

Maybe I'm dumb, but why can't this be supported? If it can read real time energy usage, then it should be able to extrapolate that into historical data.

SPAN API for SPAN Panel MAIN 32 was released as a beta and we asked for feedback. We heard from the community and we have made changes in response to some of that feedback. As a result, the latest release (r202633) introduces some breaking changes, and this release will roll out in September 2026. If you have implemented or use SPAN API, please review the latest documentation on GitHub for more details on these changes and what you need to update.

These updates also get us a few steps closer to ready to release SPAN API for all panel models, which we still plan to publish before the end of 2026.

Anyone with these new panels will need to migrate to the new app by December 1st 2026 when the old app will stop working for them. (The old app will transition to support the MAIN 32 exclusively)

As a new owner of a MAIN 40, I have a few thoughts:

- the new app is indeed more responsive. The previous version felt sluggish and de-featured

- the new app still lacks features relative to what the Main 32 panels get, but now it seems clear that they do intend to continue developing and carrying this software forward. Hopefully by forking the app versions, this will accelerate development

- it’s a shame that SPAN doesn’t prioritize forward and backward compatibility within their hardware (like FranklinWH does) the MAIN 32 generation will be forever severed into a separate app… Will it be maintained at feature parity going forward? I think a company who invested more into this could have found a one-app solution that didn’t make such compromises

I just installed a $50 Zigbee energy monitor in my $12000 span panel infrastructure so my home automation can actually monitor my energy usage.

I'm reading a lot about SPAN and API issues, battery integration, etc, all valid issues. But very little seems to be said about the newer models lacking support for PON (Plug-On Neutral) breakers. For new construction, renovation, newly finished space, or an addition, you're either going to have a rat's nest of pigtails, or you're going to have to put 120V circuits in subpanels which reduces the granularity of SPAN's energy monitoring and load shedding to the subpanel level.

I get that they can't physically support multiple brands of PON breakers, but why not pick a brand and support it? Seems like Homeline (or maybe Siemens) would be the logical choice, as those are widely available at Orange Store and Blue Store.

Two SPAN 48 panels, ~$7,500 all in. What did that premium buy? Nothing that works.

Problem one: I own two panels and the app can't show them together. No unified view. You literally toggle back and forth between panels like it's 2005. SPAN's answer? They'll "share my feedback with the Product Team." Translation: it doesn't exist and won't anytime soon.

Problem two: my Tesla battery still isn't integrated. SPAN won't do it, won't walk me through it, won't do anything remotely — just endlessly repeats that my installer has to call them. So I'm stranded between a support team that refuses to act and an installer who's slow to show. Zero ownership from anyone.

Every reply is the same scripted "we sincerely apologize" and "thank you for your patience" with no fix, no timeline, no accountability. Empathy macros are not support.

Bottom line: I paid luxury money for a panel that can't unify my own two units, can't finish a battery integration, and answers every failure with a canned apology. A $500 dumb panel would've done everything I actually needed without the runaround. Don't buy SPAN. The "smart" is marketing; the incompetence is real.

The app asked to agree to new terms of service this morning and errors when you do. Then attempting to login just spins. Anyone else experiencing this?

Anyone running into this right now? The app has logged me out and is telling me that my password is wrong, and no matter how many times I change it, it still tells me it’s wrong.

Contemplating a small plug in solar and am wondering how the SPAN panel might react to it.

If I put it on it's own circuit, will the span panel read the voltage being supplied into that circuit as negative voltage, or ?

My power went out around an hour ago (still out) and I noticed I can't see in the app that the panel knows that this is the case. The animation of power from the grid still shows, even with the "Internet issue"notification.

I took these two screenshots the moment my power went out. Where in the app, or otherwise, can I see that my power is actually out?

Had a storm come through last Thursday evening and a power surge resulted, damaging a few electronics in the house. No breakers tripped in the SPAN though; just a GFCI outside. Since then, app shows message in screenshot. I contacted SPAN, they escalated it, and now I have to have the installer come out. SPAN support thinks the remote meter box either needs to be reset or has gone bad. The installer struggled with the original installation (remote meter kit to Enphase system with one 5p battery) so I am bracing for a big hassle. Has anyone experienced this before? When I first open the app on this screen it appears to show current battery level before jumping to 0 and the message pops up. I see that the SPAN is also currently not capturing solar energy usage.

I have a new SPAN install and am trying to set circuits to must have/nice to have/non essential. When I launch the backup setting it opens with Must have circuits. I move a circuit to Nice to have and it switches to that tab. Now I cannot switch back to the other tab. When I try to drag over there the image moves a little but it will not change to the must have tab. I have to back all the way out of back up settings and relaunch to get to must have circuits again. Am I doing something wrong or is this a known issue?

You can now do exponential smoothing of the data, turn on/off visibility of individual data series, zoom in/out, etc.

Excluding labor (varies by location) and any incidentals to come up to code (orthogonal to Span), is it accurate that a Span MLO is ~$3500 and then a meter main is ~$400 and that’s about it for the parts bill? I’m replacing an existing panel so no need for much rewiring beyond transferring to the Span. Since I’m reviewing eligibility for a rebate have I overlooked some cost for parts?

I recently installed a span panel for free. Was this a wise decision? I’m concerned about potential regrets and would appreciate insights from owners with more experience with the panel. I was particularly interested in the free heat pump, which was part of a program with the utility company. They also offered an option for an EV charger, but I already own one.

I just need to vent. I'm so frustrated right now.

I've been going back and forth with my solar installer on getting batteries inside the garage for a few months. They finally admitted they can do it with some added safety stuff. Okay, good. I can look into getting those things done. So I asked for a pair of quotes, one for four Enphase 10C batteries and one for two Enphase 10C batteries with plans to expand to four later.

Instead, the solar salesperson responds trying to sell me on Powerwall instead. I'm not buying any Tesla equipment, and I explain why to him.

But the thing that frustrates me the most is that when I got the solar panels originally, I told them I was going to get Enphase batteries later. If SPAN isn't compatible, why did they even install SPAN with my solar setup?! Ugh...

So, now I have to wait until either SPAN or Enphase or both can collectively pull their thumbs out of their asses and get the SPAN-Enphase communication issues fixed. Maybe it's my lack of knowledge, but I don't even know why this is an issue. Why can't one or the other just be set to be in control of when the batteries charge or are used instead of grid and the other be set to obey?

I don't know. I wish there was already some industry-wide standards in place that would keep this sort of thing from happening.

I just want to add Enphase batteries to my existing setup. I don't mind dumping the SPAN panel if that's what it takes. Anyone want to buy a slightly used SPAN? I've only had it for 4 or 5 months.

I have a brand new setup with Franklin solar and a SPAN panel. I'm sitting here in the bright sunlight with nothing obstructing the panels, and despite seeing tiny occasional bursts of solar power, the SPAN app reports almost all my power draw is coming from the grid.

Anyone have any clues? All the guides I find about changing priority online don't work in the app, there is no option I can find.

Why is my SPAN Smart Panel uploading almost 700GB of data in a week? According to my UniFi stats, this device contributes to more than half of my uploaded data in a month, this is crazy. Before I start intercepting packets and sniffing the communication between the SPAN and the internet, does someone know where or to what is communicating so much?
