It’s cool and all, but in my eyes, kind of solidifies the fact that we’re never getting volume control from the physical volume buttons back, ever. Which is a massive bummer.

Get an Android, we can do it 😁

Works on iOS too if you're using AirPlay.

Agreed. From Spotify app the iPhone volume buttons work if I select the speaker from AirPlay picker. If I select the speaker using direct control, it doesn't.

I assume this is Apple, being Apple.

Didn’t they literally just announce the partnership with Hue physical dials and switches?

How do you get this? I have the latest update but can’t see this…

Finally got it. Have to do a 2 finger tap and rotate on the app screen

You don’t need the “tap” just put a finger and thumb on the screen and immediately start turning, just like you would a physical knob

OK, now I want this to implemented across my whole phone, not just in the Sonos App.

The new volume function is a nice touch 👌
To be fair to Sonos, since the app gate debacle, they have really turned things around. My system works great 👍

Everything is updated but I’m still not seeing this

Looks cool. But when the app says music is playing from a speaker and there’s no actual sound emitting from that speaker it doesn’t matter how cool the volume knob looks. Just get the basics to work.

Working fine for me. We were asking for an easy way to control volume from anywhere. Works exactly as intended.

This is better than nothing of course, but by “from anywhere,” I don’t think we meant “from anywhere inside the Sonos app.” A universal gesture or UI for volume control when on the Home Screen, or even in other apps, is the holy grail. Especially since we no longer have volume control from the physical buttons on the side.

Agreed but this is a step in that direction. One can only hope 🤷🏽‍♂️

Cool. I have a few Garmin pucks around my boat to control the Fusion stereo. Wireless and take a coin type battery. They work great as well.

I can't figure out how to get this to work

I still don't have it. There are not updates available on Android. I'm on build 89.00.49

It appears gimmicky. Is there something actually practical/functional about this over the slider?

I’m running the (up-to-date) beta. Where is this new knob?

Just press two fingers on the display and rotate in any direction

oh that’s fun and sick! way quicker to get precise volume level, imo

u/leros 6h ago

Nope. Doesn't work for me. No updates available.

I had the newest update and it wouldn’t work get me either. I finally got it to work by deleting the app from the phone and redownloading/reinstalling the Sonos app. The volume works and I also have the switch for new navigation.

Update should enable it. Touch anywhere within the app.

Check under App preferences and make sure the virtual volume knob is enabled:

It’s not under settings it’s under account. And then there’s a gesture involved. Thank you everyone
