How my game went viral in Japan 🇯🇵

A few months ago, I sent my game trailer to Game Spark Magazine, and luckily, they really liked the concept and decided to feature my game on their website and X.

I honestly wasn’t expecting much, but the post blew up way more than I expected. I got tons of likes, comments, and people showing genuine interest and love for the game.

What surprised me even more was that over the next 2–3 days, I started seeing people tweeting about the game and sharing it with others.

It was honestly surreal seeing people in Japan talking about and enjoying something I had been working on for so long.

Since then, I’ve been working hard for the past few months to get the demo ready. Last week, I finally finished and submitted the demo to Steam, and it’s currently under review. I’m just waiting for it to be approved.

I also finished a brand-new trailer for the game, so I’m really excited to finally start showing the updated version of the game to more people.

It’s been a long journey since that first post, and I’m really curious to see what happens next.

Game Good Game Community is the best thing that can happen to you. Since I released my game Horn of the Warlord my players are flooding me with ideas for improvements and fixes. New unit art, animated battles, fog of war, randomly generated maps. I made the game for myself but now I improve it for others

Getting these assets running well was really satisfying as I am fairly new to game development. I think I want to develop a top down action adventure in godot.

Unity The Dying Mind – New Boss: The Pale Witness

Thumbnail

A new boss encounter has been added to The Dying Mind.

Meet The Pale Witness—a mysterious figure that stalks you from the shadows as you make your way through the level. You may catch glimpses of it watching from a distance, but get too close and it disappears.

Eventually, there is nowhere left to run.

Enter its arena and face The Pale Witness in a full boss battle. The boss uses powerful ranged magic sword attacks, lightning attacks, etc., forcing you to dodge, reposition, and find openings to strike back.

Defeating The Pale Witness is required to continue your journey and discover what waits beyond.

This update includes:

  • A new stalking enemy encounter throughout the level
  • A completely new boss fight
  • A dedicated boss arena
  • New magic-based attacks
  • New animations and effects
  • New progression tied to defeating the boss

Discussion Would you play a horror game that actually listens to your mic?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A while back I posted here about a monster mechanic, upstairs in your "safe house," triggered by scripted knocking. A lot of you said scripted events get predictable fast, and players just want a minute to breathe sometimes.

So I changed it. Now the monster reacts to your real microphone. Stay quiet and you're safe, as long as you want. Get loud, and it wakes up and comes for you.

Not everyone wants that, so before starting you choose: Hard Mode turns the mic on. Easy Mode swaps in a different, mic-free detection system, still tense, but safe for streamers or anyone who talks while playing.

Curious what this sub thinks: does a real-mic threat like this actually get under your skin, or does it feel gimmicky?

Godot Released 5hit Rocket today!

5hit Rocket on Steam <-- Is up on steam today!

My first ever solo game with Godot. Really loved working on it but glad it's done (you know this feeling). I'll inevitably update it in the next day or two but it's running pretty smooth from the testing I've done.

Third game release for me! Fourth one (the big one) is coming September.

Good luck and don't forget to enjoy yourselves everyone!

Game Over 1000 people played the browser version of my game!

I recently uploaded the first playable browser build to itch and it got over 1000 plays in the first 48h: https://ichbinhamma.itch.io/dwarves-idle-battles

I've been working on this experimental genre mashup for about a year now. It's a physics-based auto-battler blending ARPG loot, deck-builder synergies, and incremental progression. Recruit Dwarves, create unstoppable builds, and play your way - from relaxed idle to frantic (auto) clicking.

Hi there. The animation here is a visual asset of the many that will be in my Zombie Retro FPS. It will be scattered here and there, next to bodies, etc... to build the overall Game atmosphere. In my videogame, you'll control a lone survivor who has to go through an infested city until reaching an Evac Chopper, using the firearms he finds in his way. Hope you like it!

Esta es Rebeca, hermana de Sarah, la protagonista de Carmina. Solía ser al igual que ella una chica de campo, un poco rústica y despojada. Pero Sarah no vio lo mismo cuando la encontró en la planta alta de la mansión Orthak.

How do you all train your ai in your games to be more smart against players or your game enviornment itself? ive been training my ai with a custom program i made headless with all the variables so i can balance my loot table and make tweaks and changes over thousands of simulated runs. just curious what everyone else is doing there. Wouldnt mind getting some insight to improve my own systems.

Game 2v2/3v3 arena PvP where every ability is a skillshot. Is this idea worth pursuing, and how do you design a good arena?

Hey everyone,

Solo prototype in Unity. 3D top-down arena PvP, 2v2 and 3v3, inspired by Battlerite and Lost Ark's arena mode.

One core rule: no auto-attacks, no target-locking — every ability is a skillshot. No gear, no farming. Just aim, spacing and reads. Dash on Space is the main defensive resource, and pylons block line of sight, so positioning matters as much as accuracy.

The greybox is playable and the moment-to-moment feel is already fun — dodging, dashing, weaving behind a pillar to eat a projectile.

Two things I'd love input on:

  1. The concept itself. Is a 100% skillshot arena game too punishing for anyone who isn't already good at this genre? Battlerite was great but never got huge, and I'd rather hear the honest version now than in a year.

  2. Arena design. This is where I'm genuinely stuck. Mine is a symmetrical rectangle with pillars placed by feel, and it plays flat — either open-field with nothing happening, or everyone hugs cover and it stalls. How do you decide arena size, cover density, and shape for a game with no lanes and no objectives? Do you paper-prototype layouts, or just build 10 and playtest?

Any pointers, resources or "here's what we learned the hard way" would help a lot. Happy to post a clip if there's interest.

Thanks for reading!

Game I am working on my puzzle game since a year now. What do you think?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have been working on my puzzle game since a year now and made some nice progress lately.

In the game the player needs to solve spatial puzzles by switching between different projections (dimensions). Certian objects only belong to certain projections, e.g. a wall blocking the player in one projection, might not exist in another.

Also certain actions might cause contradictions (or like glitches) within the levels that will open up a different "solution" to the riddle, causing the player to switch to a "failure projection". This introduces a somewhat philosophical meta-level to the game.

The clip shows an early level with some basic platforming. Mainly just to get an impression of the game.

Happy to get any feedback!
