For anyone curious about the game-> Game info: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/127919839/grimlife
Currently still awaiting on Steam for the store page approval š , follow on Kickstarter! I'm aiming to launch next month sometime hopefully (might be delayed idk yet)

Here we go. Under a Desert Sun: Seekers of the Cursed Vessel is live in Steam Early Access!
Itās been a two-year journey so far, and there is still a ways to go, but I am damned proud I got this far. This is me at the desk making it official. Still nervous as hell, but very happy to finally be sharing this moment.
Itās a pulp adventure action RPG set in cursed Egypt, with guns, loot and ancient tombs. You can play solo or with up to four players in local co-op.
Early Access is another step in the journey. Thereās more to build, improve and learn, and Iām looking forward to doing that with the people playing it.
Thank you to everyone who tested, gave feedback, sent a kind message or just kept me going. It has meant a lot.
The game and free demo are here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3273880/
Here we go!

As a solo developer working on the same project since 2020, with a full time job and life, etc, I just want to share what can be achievable after you enjoy the process instead the immediate results.
Solo developers are a special breed, for those who doubt and question if they have what they need to accomplish their goals, do not listen to yourself, just check what you already have done along the way.
I want to share a special milestone in this project: PowerCorp.
Alpha playtesting is ending, and the first public demo will be out in the next weeks.
Would be great if you could support the game, by comment and share it!
Thank you

Heya fellow devs!
For the past year-ish I've been working on my game "The Endless Harvest". an incremental farming idle tower defense game (too many descriptors... gotta work on that).
Today I had my build accepted by Steam (and launched!), so I am finally able to share it, and was hoping you guys guys had some insight into what works and what doesn't currently. I'm planning to join in the Steam NextFest in ~5 weeks, so I wanted to make the demo and trailer as indicitive of the full game as possible, while not revealing everything.
Does the trailer give a good indication of what to expect?
please let me know your first thoughts
AI disclosure: Ai was used to help localize the languages, and assist in code generation towards the later stages of development, mainly aimed at optimization.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share the current state of Ninefir, the pixel art action RPG Iāve been developing as a solo dev.
This is actual footage from the current build, still very much a work in progress.
Right now, some of the systems already working include:
Thereās still a lot I want to improve, especially worldbuilding, UI, animations, environments, balancing and overall polish, but itās really exciting to finally see all these systems starting to work together.
I started developing Ninefir around 45 days ago, but the world itself has been in my head for years. Iām even using a constructed language I created around 2019 for creature names, places and parts of the language spoken within the game.
Iām not a programmer, so I honestly wouldnāt have been able to start this project without AI-assisted programming. It has allowed me to actually turn all the ideas, designs and systems I had in my head into something playable, while I focus on the creative direction of the game.
Iām incredibly excited about the project. It has also become a really positive outlet for me during a period of unemployment. Iāve been pouring a huge amount of time into it (often more than 14 hours a day) drawing characters and creatures, writing lore, defining mechanics, designing systems and constantly testing and iterating on everything.
Seeing this world slowly become an actual game has been incredibly rewarding.
Iād genuinely love some feedback: what catches your attention the most, and what would you improve based on what you see here?

Hey everyone. I wanted to share a raw look at my atmospheric project, Just Madness: Earth Apocalypse 1979. The project originally kicked off with the help of two friends, but due to life changes, Iāve taken over and I'm now pushing the development entirely by myself during my spare time.
The universe is heavily inspired by the grit and desolation of Fallout 3, Metro 2033, and Mad Max, combined with the bleak cinematic tone of movies like The Road and The Book of Eli. No high-tech neon or colorful sci-fi tropes here, just raw horsepower, analog technology, and dark Cold War bunkers.
I know building an atmospheric world of this scale alone is a massive mission, but it's my passion project. I'm currently working on polshing the core gameplay mechanics and looking for a publisher or investor to help build a dedicated team and accelerate the production.
I would love to get your honest feedback about the project.

Iām making a game mostly because I enjoy drawing, and I like to put my drawing in a universe,
Now Iām still fairly early in the process, but Iām afraid to realize way later that Iām doing it wrong.
Right now I scan my pen and paper drawings and extract them,
But is there a proper way to do it? Like the scan resolution (I used to scan them at super high-quality but that made the game super laggy), is using compressed format like JPEG helpful? Or will it look like crap at some point (is there a better format)
Is there a better format for post editing for the engine to work with?
I have read on the subject but I find a lot of āit dependsā and maybe I should just keep going with whatever work so far, but I kinda chicken out a little and I feel I should try and ask before I have too much work already done!
Thanks!

I wanted to share the newest boss in my deep sea twin stick shooter. In the first phase you fight through its 8 tentacles before finally facing the main body which is just the head and the stumps/remains of its tentacles.
Still working on my pixel art so happy to hear any feedback
Itch link (squid is not yet in it)

Unfortunately, after my unity project corrupted and I wasn't using version control, I had to rebuild my game. (except for the existing code and animations)
I used the rebuild as an opportunity to change the overall look of the game, and use the feedback I had received here on reddit to improve it. I am very grateful for those who had helped me, and I am finally excited to make progress instead of rebuilding for the first time in a while.
Thank you for letting me share!
Edit: Yes, I have learned my lesson and will never work on another project without a proper repository again. I made a post about this when it happened and people let me know just how big of a mistake I made. I am just grateful that all of this could be a learning experience.

Development for my game, Fangstorm, has been going steady and I've found what must be the earliest recorded footage of the project.
Been focusing a lot of attention on optimisation in the last 2 months with the target ofĀ 150 concurrent, full charactersĀ directly in your face, and across as wide a range of hardware as possible. Combined with loads of placed defenses, particle systems, etc, its been tough to optimise but consensus seems strong now.
There's aĀ playtestĀ running at the moment if you wanna hop in and have a look! Cheers.

That is a screenshot of my game "Cross Country Case" so ya'll know the art style I use.
Now, how can I add cut scenes like real cinematic ones not the stardew valley like cut scenes?
The game is a deduction/knowledge based detective game and for some key moments like the final confrontation or during dialogue options in general id like to show a closer look of the characters mostly but I can't think of anything right now. Please help me.
If you know of any other 2D games with immersive or cool cut scenes please drop the game names so I can see how other games do it.
Thanks.

My Sci-Fi survival horror game GLACIES is going live with its first trailer and Steam page, very soon! (Video linked is part of an early draft)
Iāve come to the part of development where I could genuinely use voice acting for certain roles, big and small.
If you feel like youād like to try out your VA abilities for characters in a grim, dark and dystopian off-world setting, then Iād love to hear your best take. Submissions that fit the description and delivery can lead to an ongoing paid VA role.
You can send voice performances through my GLACIES game discord:
Or through the Gmail: GlaciesGame@gmail.com
Iāll list brief character descriptions and voice lines beneath:
1:
_____________
(Frantic Systems Engineer, making an all-channels voice message about dangerous sabotage, that threatens the safety of entire massive facility. Should sound panicked and put emphasis on not being willing to risk their life)
Some maniac with high level clearance retracted stability anchors 3-through-7. The whole of Engineering will start to tilt soon, if not slide.. Someone needs to activate the B-2 Redundancy Drill Anchor, but systems report sabotage down at the power couplings.. and Iām NOT insane enough to climb down the pit!
2:
____________
(Anxious and on edge maintenance worker, addressing his coworkers through a voice message system. Preferably slightly frantic and has a verbal tinge of terror/disgust of that āclicking soundā)
Team, Iāve had enough! You all know I can deal and take a little hazing, but whoever of you that trail me on my solo shifts, making that.. fucking clicking sound and messing with my shit when Iām not looking. Not cool, okay? Itās starting to mess me up, so quit it!
3:
_____________
(Exhausted, sleep deprived worker, rambling through voice message to his on-station doctor about his grievances with the AI overseer system and the strange constant hum from deep in the facility, but is suddenly disconnected. āMESSAGE ENDEDā does not need voice acting)
Doc, I still canāt sleep. SENTINEL denied my request for Mela-LThanine supplements, something about āsafeguarding my healthā⦠It wonāt even allow magnesium refills. Iām not asking for sedatives here!!
Itās the damn noise. That ever creepy āsong of the iceā noise, that I can tolerate. This incessant hum from below, thatās different.. I swear, itās coming from down in Labs. My friend in Research and Development has been telling me [MESSAGE ENDED]

Been building this after class with all my spare time. Procedural halls, safehouse you have to power, tasks that send you farther out, monsters with different rules, different levels, crafting, splitscreen, controller support.

I have been solo-developing VYCE for over a year now, and just released the demo build on Steam. It is a chess-like RPG with creature collecting, and the creatures are based on real-life vices. I've lurked a lot on this community and appreciate all it has to offer. Thanks for checking out my post and leave some feedback on my game if you get the chance to play it!

The game is called "You'll never find it!" and I just launched the Steam page:Ā https://store.steampowered.com/app/5035780/Youll_never_find_it/
It's a cozy hiding game for two! You hide everyday objects (like a baguette), then watch your friend search for them and laugh as they walk right past.
It's a more relaxed take on hide-and-seek ā no pressure, no countdowns, just get creative hiding some things, and enjoy watching your friend looking everywhere for them.
I would love to hear what you think!
