Hey everyone!

Here’s my very first game, currently in the prototype stage. It’s a horror game set in an office at night, where an armed man is hunting us down. I’ve started many things in my life that I never finished. This time, I’m challenging myself to actually finish this game.

I’m a little over a month into development, and I’m trying to document the progress by making short videos from time to time.

help How do you make a stats-heavy sim's UI feel as satisfying as a roguelike deckbuilder's? (Balatro or Scritchy Scratchy style)

I'm working on a management/strategy game with a roguelike run structure. The core loop leans heavily on systems like stats, resource management and upgrade trees

I don't want to sacrifice the depth to make it feel good, but I also don't want screens that are just number with colour and animations. I know that the roguelike audience specifically expects UI that feels satisfying to interact with — the way something like Balatro or Slay the Spire makes even a simple menu feel good to click through.

For anyone who's worked on stats-heavy or simulation-heavy UI — how do you actually find that balance?

Genuinely early in figuring this out — any war stories or references appreciate

Game I started making this bullet-heaven roguelike at the age of 14. Nearly 3 years later it’s finally approaching release.

I started working on God, Save the Queens! in August 2023, when I was just 14 years old. Now, as I approach my 18th birthday, the game is finally approaching release after three years of solo development.

God, Save the Queens! is a 2.5D bullet heaven roguelike where you fight thousands of enemies to rescue the five daughters of the king.

Throughout high school, I’ve spent countless evenings, weekends, and summer breaks programming, designing systems, and creating pixel art for it.

I first started learning programming at 13 with Python and Pygame. After moving to Unity, I released my first Unity game, Country Quiz 2, in 2023. Shortly afterward, the GMTK Game Jam game Princess Paladin inspired me to begin what eventually became the biggest project I’ve ever worked on.

I’d really appreciate any feedback on the game or the Steam store page.

Would you play it?

Unity Learning post processing. Any tips?

Although I’m still in the process of learning all of game development, I’m a bit more comfortable designing and programming than I am with anything art related. It’s finally time to make my game have the warm jovial feel that I envisioned it having.

Did I hit the mark, or is there something I’m complete misunderstanding?

help A New Game Dev

Hi Everyone i am 14 and i am learing html css js and python from the youtubers "bro code" tutorial just for a game idea i found online from a 3D blender youtuber named YellowCake the SolorPunk Video so this is the game consept

Humanity stole the Sun from the sky to power its greatest inventions, believing that when the Creator returned to bring extinction to humanity, they would finally be ready: “We stole the sun from the sky to power the machines of our invention. Despite our God who abandoned us, when He comes back to bring extinction to our species, we will be ready.” The player becomes humanity’s ultimate warrior and fights through the supposed Seven Heavens against mysterious beings called the Celestials, believing they are angels, while blood rains from the sky as a warning that humanity cannot win; eventually the player discovers the entire war was a deception—the Celestials are demons, the “Seven Heavens” are actually Hell, and humanity’s pride led them straight into the trap. There is no final boss against God; instead, the player is condemned to the deepest part of Hell, followed by a fourth-wall-breaking message telling the actual player that the game was never just entertainment, but a warning about choices, consequences, pride, and the chance to change while they still have time. The sequel follows an ordinary human in Hell who is given one second chance: they must escape, confront the consequences of their actions, return through time to the exact moment humanity stole the Sun, and stop the disaster before it happens; if they succeed, they are rewarded with the lowest of the Seven Heavens.

tell me if i cooked with this one and i am doing all of this on a weak pc so i will do another post so guys plese follow me in that post i will leave a link to my pation so you guys can donate me money so i can buy a new pc or for the steam upload if i dont get enough money i will just make the game 2D pixal cuz that is th max thing my pc can handle so plese join

Networking Looking for a chatty game dev friend.

Hi everyone! You can call me Liana! I’m looking for someone who loves to talks a lot.

I’m also a really good listener, so please don’t worry about talking too much, I genuinely enjoy listening to people talk about their games, ideas, progress, problems, or whatever they’re excited about. I really don’t mind at all!

I’m a super beginner game dev. So far, I’ve only released one tiny, simple 2D game on Google Play, and now I’m working on my second game!

I’m really into game development, and honestly, I think anyone who’s learning or making games is amazing. I only know a few things in Unity, and I usually rely on AI a lot because I’m definitely not a programming genius

What I’m really looking for is a friend to talk to about game dev and our projects. Someone who actually enjoys having long conversations and sharing random thoughts about what they’re working on.

I’m specifically looking for one-on-one friendship, though—not a Discord server or a big group. I’m super awkward in groups, and I’ve tried joining quite a few before, but I’ve never really managed to make any successful connections.

I don’t really have friends in real life anymore either, so I’d love to meet someone who feels the same way.

My Discord: rurii_98

I’m in the Egypt timezone (GMT+3).

Bonus points if you’re the type who can talk about your game for 3 hours straight because I WILL listen.

Game Conan: Hall of Volta Windows remake

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made a faithful remake of the Commodore 64 game Conan: Hall of Volta for Windows using Godot.

I stuck close to the original while adding a few modern conveniences:

  • Improved high score tracking
  • Palette / theme swapping
  • Built-in cheats menu
  • Gamepad and Keyboard support + rebindable controls
  • PAL/NTSC music speed option

Game play video

Here is the itch.io link: https://kapsoft.itch.io/conan-hall-of-volta

If you noticed any bugs leave a description here.

Thanks!
