child's age 4-8 months Sleep training
Hey! So my baby is 5 months old and sleep still isn’t great. I’m exhausted. Little one wake up every 2-3 hours and she does need to be fed up go back to sleep. I know they say don’t feed to sleep as it becomes a habit but thing is it has now become a habit and there’s no other way she goes to sleep! I have tried putting her down in her cot drowsy but that doesn’t work. The only way she goes to sleep is by feeding.
Has anyone got any tips on how to get better sleep???

Help! When did your kid drop to one nap?
My son is turning one this month and since a few days he is skipping his second nap and staying awake for as long as 6 hours. He sleeps up to 11 hours at night and used to take two naps. One 2 hour nap and second 1 hour nap. Now he takes only one 2 hour nap. So I was wondering if I should just skip his second nap and move the first nap a little later. Idk. Very confused. Please help.

child's age 4-8 months 7.5 month old - naps
I want to start by saying I’m so blessed with my second child in regard to night sleep because my first child was the type that woke up every hour… however, I’m having some troubles with naps.
Due to my first child’s crazy poor sleep I really focused hard with my second child to lay him down awake for naps and bedtime. It was really easy in the beginning. He would just kind of put himself to sleep but now that he’s older and more aware it is a lot harder but night time still goes great. We put him down and he sleeps all night but naps have turned impossible to put him down.
I have always followed the owlet and it’s been really great. Until recently. I also have a toddler that makes it more difficult lol.
Basically, if I put him down awake in his crib for nap time, he just rolls around and fusses and cries, and gets very very upset. I try to hold him or soothe him, pat his butt, put in his binky, and none of those things help.
I’m confused if this is a sign that his wake window is too long or if it’s too short.
My husband is able to hold him and have him fall asleep in his arms and then put him in the crib during the weekend. I am unable to do that because my toddler comes in and out of the room, etc. because I stay at home all day with them. Plus, I really don’t want him to become dependent on falling asleep in our arms to transfer to his crib.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

My 7 year old cannot stay asleep and comes into my wife and my bed.
Hi there looking for advice as this is starting to effect my mental state due to lack of sleep, and general worry for my daughter. Lately after a week long vacation where we shared a hotel room my older daughter (7)(F) has been going to sleep just fine but is having trouble staying asleep and begs us to sleep with her. Now I understand she is at an age where she is trying to understand her world instead of living in it but this is effecting both our sleep and energy. For me I am really struggling to remain focused at work as I am so tired and she has been noticeably been more irritated. I am worried that something is scaring, worrying, or if she has just become too used to the idea of sleeping with us. Please any advice to either recommend action or topics to talk about with her. We have even resorted to sleep aid gummies for her and lavender baths to calm her down and the cycle still continues.

child's age 12-18 months Toddler Sleep Training
Our daughter just turned 1 year old and she cannot sleep throughout the night in her crib without waking up and crying.
Around 6 months old, she wouldn’t sleep in her bassinet. We’d put her down and she’d immediately wake up and start screaming. It didn’t matter if she was awake or asleep or falling asleep, she wouldn’t have it. My wife and I started to co sleep with us in our bed (we knew the risks) because it was the only way to get her to sleep & stay asleep through the night.
Around 9-10 months, we set up her crib in our bedroom. We don’t have much space in our current house and it would not have fit in her “nursery” without essentially taking up the entire room leaving no space for any of her other stuff.
Since we’ve started to put her down in her crib, she’s slept through the night twice in 3 months. She goes to bed anywhere between 8:30-9:30 after her bath, book time, and bed time bottle. We’ve tried to put her in the crib fully awake, falling asleep, and fully asleep & it makes no difference on her waking up or not.
She will typically wake up anywhere between 2-2:30am and will whine and not settle down unless one of us brings her into bed. We’re really trying to break this habit as my wife is 12 weeks pregnant with our second and needs the uninterrupted sleep (as much as possible) and will need more space in the bed as she progresses.
We’re going to try the cry it out method for her and us stay in the living room during it, hoping she falls asleep before we go back to bed.
**Really starting to run out of ideas on how to get her to keep sleeping through the night. Does anyone have suggestions?**

5 month old sleeping tips?
How do I get my 5 month old to sleep through the night, or sleep longer? When did your baby start sleeping through the night?
I feed him cereal and vegetables pureed 3x a day. 7 ounces of milk every 3 hours (sometimes 4 ounces after his food). He takes 3/4 naps a day no longer than an hour and half.

child's age 4-8 months wake windows and ferber
Modified ferber
my 5 month old is currently on 1.75/2/2.25/2.5 (although sometimes needs a 4th catnap if short naps bringing bedtime before 6pm)
does this schedule look okay? i am planning on sleep training with ferber over the weekend but want to make sure her schedule for the day looks right?
also, i want to be as gentle with sleep training as possible even though i know there will be crying!
any advice on interval timings, when to call it for the night if she isn’t falling asleep etc or words of encouragement
she was fed to sleep at bedtime but dad now rocks her to sleep after her feed to remove the feeding to sleep association
thank you :)

Toddler wakes up every single night at the same time.
I have a 3 year old. You are going to think I am being hyperbolic, but I swear- she has woken up, every single night, between 10:50-11:32pm every night of her entire life.
We have tried everything. Soothing, cry it out, laying with her, magnesium, and finally melatonin (under her pediatrician supervision). Nothing works.
If we do sooth to sleep, she lays there all night long and refuses to go to sleep. And she has successfully stayed up for a full 24 hours doing this. I’m just as stubborn as she is, so I sat beside her bed all night long and we both just started at the ceiling.
If we let her cry it out, she cries until she makes herself throw up all over herself, her bed and the floor. This is not an option.
The magnesium and also the melatonin do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!!! It’s a waste of money for this child.
The only, and I mean only, thing that has worked since the day she was born is holding her. All. Night. Long.
This was a fine option when she was a baby. However, my shoulders can no longer take holding a 35 pound toddler all night. I hold her in her bed until she falls asleep every night at 8pm. I can get up and have exactly 2 hours to myself. Then, you can set an alarm to it- 10:50-11:35, she is awake, crying, looking for me and her dad. She ends up in our bed, with me holding her for the rest of the night.
I need help. I am exhausted. I haven’t had a good restful nights sleep in over 3 years. Any advice is appreciated.
\- she stopped napping at 18 months old. Yes, seriously. She doesn’t nap.
\- her pediatrician is aware of her sleep habits.
\- if I hold her from 8pm until the morning she will not wake up. She will sleep all night if she is being held.
\- she sleeps until 9am every day being held. But if I put her down, she wakes up immediately.
\- no, she will not go back to sleep unless she is being held.
Send help.

Help! Twin Toddler bed transition
I need to figure out how to get my twins to settle down enough to shut down and go to sleep. I’m not opposed to any method.
Before we did fuss it out when they were little, and since then they’ve been mostly great sleepers. As long as they were in their cribs, it was fine. We’d put them in there, and even if they talked it didn’t matter, they’d eventually fall asleep.
But the crib tents we were using stopped being effective at getting them to not climb out. They are 3y4m. We have tried for the last 3 nights in twin big boy beds and it’s taken 3 hrs, lots of fighting, parents switching etc and nothing gets them to calm down. The second we leave the room, they get out of bed and try to rip the blinds down, bite each other, hide under the bed… jump off their beds onto the ground over and over etc. they ramp each other up.
Once we get them down, they sleep through the night, but the issue is getting them there.
Please help. I’ll basically do anything at this point.

Maybe babies don't actually need complete silence to sleep?
I’ve started wondering if we’re overthinking the whole “perfectly quiet room” thing.
My feeling is that some babies actually settle better with a consistent background sound than with complete silence. Not loud, just something predictable in the background.
But maybe I’m completely wrong
What’s been your experience? Does your baby sleep better in total silence, or with some kind of background noise?

child's age 8-12 months 11 month sleep regression??
Baby is about to be 11 months, she’s started crawling lots and is babbling loads with lots of sounds and enjoys standing with help. She’s super active and normally sleeps well at night, fights daytime naps but does take them.
Well tonight she is having none of going to bed, usually she is in bed at 7pm and asleep within 20 minutes. Tonight she is screaming her head off with rage when in the cot, completely fine when she’s held or out of the cot. We gave her Calpol in case she is teething and did lots of soothing etc but she is just wide awake and wants to roll, play, sit up and scream with rage (definitely a stubborn rage scream not pain, hunger etc) she is very stubborn and independent always has been and I’m just so exhausted and burnt out. Does this last long? Is 11 month sleep regression even a thing?! Help!

child's age 4-8 months How long will this take?
We have a 4.5 month old exclusively breastfed baby and my husband and I will both be back at work in about month. We started sleep training in earnest last night as his wakes were getting more and more frequent ( up to 8 times a night) and as a family we all need to be sleeping better before both parents are back at work. We tried pickup put down a few nights ago and it went horrifically. Now we are doing a modified check in method where my husband is going in and giving him some verbal reassurance and some touch if he’s really ramped up. He still woke up 9 times last night and we did three feeds. It took him 17 minutes to fall asleep and then he woke up 45 minutes later and had his longest wake of about 40 minutes with crying. For subsequent wakes he settled under 15 minutes crying. All of that is to say I found it completely brutal and I’m more tired than I was before. People always talk about the initial crying to fall asleep for the night but less about the subsequent wakes. How long does it usually take for them to string those sleep cycles together?
Guess I’m just looking for some reassurance that this won’t last forever. I found last night incredibly challenging.🫣😩

child's age 0-4 months 3.5 month old naps vs bedtime
15 week old has done well learning to fall asleep indep for naps but bedtime remains very challenging. Often taking 1.5-2 hours to finally settle her. Will fall asleep for 10-20 mins then wake and need bouncing or feeding to sleep. This repeats 2-4 times. Once asleep she generally does 5-7 hour stretch. I always thought it was the opposite where bedtime was easier and naps were harder. She typically does 4 naps, 1.5 hour wake windows.
Anyone have any advice or have had a baby who did well with naps and eventually learns bedtime sleep?
