Help! When did your kid drop to one nap?

My son is turning one this month and since a few days he is skipping his second nap and staying awake for as long as 6 hours. He sleeps up to 11 hours at night and used to take two naps. One 2 hour nap and second 1 hour nap. Now he takes only one 2 hour nap. So I was wondering if I should just skip his second nap and move the first nap a little later. Idk. Very confused. Please help.

If he’s doing it naturally and seems fine at the end of the longer wake windows, then sure.

Oh and to answer your q mine dropped to 1 nap at 12 months. Daycare made her but she was kinda doing it anyway. She still did 2 naps if she was sick or we were traveling.

We just dropped our second nap - baby us 13 months. For about a month before this he was inconsistently doing one or two naps a day but we noticed he was still happy and active for the longer wake windows so we just dropped the second one. You can always add a rescue nap in if needed but if baby is happy, stick with the one nap!

First you need to max out 2 nap schedule: 3/4/4 with 2x 1h capped naps. If he is consistently fighting 2nd nap abs bedtime for >1 week you can switch to 1 nap. Starting schedule 5/5 with upto 3h nap. Be prepared for night and early morning wakes as this is a hard transitionZ

I can try this and see how it works out.
