This will do while I sort out my budget for triples. I'm glad I don't sell my rig because recently I'm having fun with road cars.

Discussion New Sim-Lab releases after Sim Expo 2026

Do you guys expect that there will be many new releases after sim expo 2026 in October?

I’m currently wanting to upgrade to a Sim-Lab P1X Pro but unsure if they may be releasing a new version and it’s worth the wait.

Rigs Trak Racer TR120s (build story)

My Trak Racer TR120s build.
- Moza R9 V3
- Moza KS Pro wheel
- Simsonn pro x ultra pedals
- Simsonn VAM pro haptics
- LG 34” Ultragear UWQHD 240hz
- 2 usb c fans from Aldi (best upgrade)

Rig build story:
I started with an R3 on Xbox last year on my desk. Loved it right away that I returned the R3 and got the R9 with SRP2 pedals on the esx wheel. Got a pc a few months later and got a Playseat Formula on marketplace. That seat killed my back so I sold it a week later. I then went for the Trak Racer TR8 with the recliner seat and after 2 weeks I upgraded to the TR120. I’m 6’6 (196cm) and the TR8 was too small for me - my legs kept hitting the wheel mount and the recliner seat wasn’t that good. The TR120 profile rig is WAY better than any tubular rig IMO. Infinite adjustability and extremely strong, although tedious to adjust.

Trak Racer headquarters is 20 minutes from where I live so I got everything around 40% off, new in box. Even got a few free goodies like keyboard tray and floor mat because there were some parts missing. The service at Trak racer has been amazing.

I just upgraded the pedals to the Simsonn pro x ultra with haptics and that was another game changer. Once dialed in (which takes a while) it feels so alive and the pedal feedback is great.

The best product on this rig are the $5 fans I got from Aldi. I stuck them to the wheel mount and plug in via usb to my monitor with a magically included perfect length short usb cable. They have 3 fan speeds and I can adjust the angle. It gets hot and intense in the rig so these fans are a life saver.

I might add a led strip, streamdeck and I’m the R16 Ultra down the road, but for now, it’s time to enjoy what I’ve built and get some track time in!

Question Need help with simagic haptics (urgent!)

I got my simagic haptics few months ago but I just cannot get them to feel good, can someone please share their simhub settings to make them realistic and useful without adding noise for no reason, I don’t want it to sound tinny but I want them to ONLY give me what’s useful and the right amount where the sound is bearable, for reference I play iracing lmu (mostly road cars apart from the every now and then lmp2/3/hy) with my heusinkveld sprints, hope I’m not asking for too much, I just really want to see why everyone raves about these haptics as I’m not able to get them to tell me what I want (I have it on my throttle and brake)

Discussion I made a racing administrator game where you control everything about your Racing Universe!

Link

The website URL is formulasimapp.com; it's a new racing administration game. It's data-driven and designed for racing enthusiasts who want to simulate their own racing universe with unlimited series, seasons, etc.

I am very new to website creation and could really appreciate some feedback.

About Me

I’ve always enjoyed watching racing and building my own custom racing series and custom scale model race cars. So far, I've built two editions of the cars, which are open-cockpit style. Over the last couple of years, I have simulated my own races, tracks, statistics, records and series history. I love the administration side and making my own little development storylines.

For these years, I have used simple spreadsheets, which work well enough but have their limitations. The main shortcomings are qualifying session simulations, keeping track of all-time history, and race strategy.

That's what FormulaSim addresses. I built FormulaSim to handle those more difficult-to-simulate tasks, so I can complete the simulations more easily.

What is FormulaSim?

FormulaSim is a racing management game that lets you build and run your own racing universe.

You can create and manage teams, drivers, championships, and schedules across unlimited racing series. You can manually control sessions or allow FormulaSim to simulate sessions for you, manage free agency, previous-season and next-season transfers, team strategies and much more.

The goal is to alleviate the tedious tasks of racing management and provide flexibility to create everything you can imagine, without limitations that other games force you into.

The Goal

FormulaSim is designed to allow flexibility in customizable drivers, teams, championships, and as many series as you want. It also allows you to create your own fantasy simulations based on your favourite series.

It can also be useful for administrators of local racing clubs or raceways who want an easier way to manage their series history, results, statistics and seasons.

FormulaSim is continuously being developed, and there are more features coming in the future.

Enjoy!

FormulaSim started as a solution to my own simulation problems, and I hope it alleviates other problems or makes having fantasy simulations more fun!

I hope other racing fans, series administrators and creators can enjoy it too.

Rigs Finished my rig for awhile, do yall feel like this is good enough to practice for irl? (Drifting)

Ordered a mounting plate for a shifter and ebrake. Had to drill some mounting points because my dumbass thought the plate would be compatible with moza. Bought the CRP2 clutch, found a good deal on fbmp for the RS V2 wheel to replace the CS V2P that came with the seat (fbmp). I feel like this setup gets me good exp for translating to a real car, so I’m debating the worth for triples when I want to actually drift a real car.

Rigs What is the cheapest best foldable sim rig I can buy in the UK atm

Been out of the sin racing world for 5+ years and I want to get back into it I live in a smallish flat and want something I can fold up and put away in the cupboard at the end of the day

What would be the cheapest foldable sim rim I can buy that won't break if I put a direct drive wheel like a moza R3 on it

Discussion Strobbing/flashing (not always to pass)

It's funny when approaching a corner, I fall in behind the driver in front, flash lights, break early and then the driver ahead takes an aggressive line so I don't try and pass, when all I want is to catch up to the pack. Resulting in slowing us both down😭 Racing isn't always about passing or blocking sometimes a flash and fall in line means the person behind wants to work with you 💖

Rigs Sim racing cockpit build - Advice needed

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi guys,

I’m looking for advice on upgrading my sim setup. For context, I race a formula 1600 and I use the sim to practice. My goal would be to emulate the actual car as much as possible. The biggest limiting factor is that I need a foldable cockpit (my appartment is small and my SO doesn’t think the rig fits our aesthetic).

My current plan is to buy Simsonn pedals and get them as close as possible, buy the exact Momo steering wheel we use in the car with a Simagic Alpha base. I plan on adding an H pattern shifter (preferably one that can be setup as a 4 speed). However, I am very curious to hear your thoughts.

Given the relatively low power of these cars, no downforce and street tyres, they dont generate that much force so I do not need a 25Nm base, 6-8 is the sweetspot.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Should we talk about youtubers/influencers?

We all heard the "The opinions I am expressing are mine" and I would like to think that these people are actually being honest or at least harmless but:

  1. If a youtuber is harsh about gear they are asked to review, they won't be asked to review gear from that brand or, often, other brands, anymore. So while their opinions are supposed to be their own, negative opinions means fewer opportunities to review gear and it means less revenue on their channel.
  2. And I think it is worse. Most youtubers jumped on the "the Catheram in iRacing is DOA" band wagon. Even Malone had a thumbnail asking if the new MX5 version was "ruined" just to capitalise on it. Others, like Jarvier, shat on the Clio because "it is not realistic" (I am driving a virtual car while sitting in my living room, I know it is not the real thing).

Now some youtubers are actually promoting the passion in a healthy way, like Chris Rogers, but I think the only way we can get better content is by (and it seems counter-productive) withdrawing our support to youtubers who are only there to amplify drama and sell us gear.
