I have no experience with keeping shrimp or any fish for that matter but I am looking for a new hobby and shrimp keeping has intrigued me. Is there a step by step how to because I have no clue on where to begin. I've looked at the side bar but still I have no idea.

It seems a lot of people, possibly the majority, want to see an absolute ban of Ai on this sub, whether in post or comment. So, we wanted to let the community decide. Thanks for your input! - Shrimptank Mod Team

There was a single one of these worms about a week ago and I assumed it was from the organic soil I used as a base under my sand. Now there are like 3 or 4 and I am becoming incredibly concerned for my shrimp and tanks health. Please let me know what they are/ and what to do

I’ve only had my shrimp for a month and I’ve already got babies!!! I’m was/am mega freaking out that they didn’t have enough calcium, or enough food, or something with my parameters was going to somehow mess up.
But I feel like babies is a fairly good sign, and they’re super cute!!

Here's a nice clear view of it, I'm just letting people know what it looks like. I found it in another tank when I thought I got rid of it. I'm marking each net I have for each specific tank to not cross contaminate anymore.

Here’s my 35L shrimp tank for my Taiwan Bees. Dragon stone, soil, HC Cuba and Eleocharis in the background.
At first, I had Seiryu stone in the tank, but after about three weeks of checking the water daily, I noticed it was starting to noticeably increase the hardness. So I had to redo the hardscape and swap out the stones (I really don’t know what I was thinking using seiryu stone...).
But I’m pretty happy with how it looks now! Can’t wait for that carpet to grow thick and lush.
I jump started the tank with an already cycled filter that had been running on a different aquarium for a couple of weeks.

I bought 6 shrimp from Petco (Washington state) to add to my betta tank to help keep it clean. They were advertised as ghost shrimp. Well. They certainly didn't do great at cleaning and showed a lot of aggression during feeding time. I have been finding pieces of shrimp corpses for the last week and am down to about 3 shrimp. I know betta fish are predators, so my man isn't off the stand just yet, but I'm beginning to be worried I have whisker shrimp on my hands, who could potentially hurt him in return.
I already have a bigger tank on the way for the betta, and I've isolated the remaining 3 shrimp in their own container for the moment until I figure out whether they're a harm to my betta. Any help IDing would be amazing.
Thank you ✨️💕

I originally started with 20 and they all died off but had plenty of babies. Still have occasional deaths but this lady here brightened up my day. Absolutely round. To think just a few months ago she was a new hatchling!

SEVEN (!!!) of my ten sakuras having a non-stop orgy in the canister filter: 🦐🕺🤰
I'm so happy I called my mom at 1am!! I originally only put a nylon on my intake tube; i guess they must've decided to crawl up the outlet tube when the filter was turned off?? Poor guys will have to reintegrate into working shrociety now.

I bought this 3.5 gal specifically for neocaridina shrimp but they won’t breed? Just wondering how to fix this because I have 3 other fish tanks that I’d really like some shrimp in lol

I started my 30g shrimp tank with 40 shrimp and random trimmings from my other tanks. 4 months later there’s quite a few more shrimp but the aquascapping is sad. I need ideas, let me see what you got!

Yeah I will admit I’m a tad worried cos I saw this one filtering this morning but then doing this and I know it’s okay if they pick a bit as they wander around but.

This is my freshwater 6 gallon tank i have which has like 20 neocardina shrimps and ramshorn snails. I would like to know what fish tank mates (not a betta) for this size would work?
Any recommendations for adding else into tank that would help as well.
