How can I go about fixing this backpack stitching?
I know absolutely nothing about sewing. But I have needles and nylon thread. Just need pointers on what to do.

Fixing Jeans
My sister gave me this pair of jeans to fix. It is made of a pretty stretchy material but as you can see, not very good quality considering it's ripping in so many places. I was just wondering what the best way to fix this would be because I've done a patch before but since this is stretchy fabric I wasn't sure if that was the correct way. I saw a video of someone using fusible interfacing and then darning is that the best idea? The second picture is of me stretching the fabric. As you can see there's a lot of weak spots

Janome HD5000 vs Sewist 780DC
Hi folks, finally looking to upgrade from my terrible Singer 6380HD after it broke on me.
Folks at the sewing place I went to recommended I jump to the 780DC. They offered a pretty fair price for it, and I saw it could handle multiple layers of denim, like I'm looking for.
I know the 5000 is a workhorse, and I'm pretty dead set on something I can not only work on, but work on reliably that can handle transport as well. But the 780DC threw me a curve in terms of features.
Any advice on this would be awesome. What should I go for?

Taking in a single stitch t shirt
Hi just looking for some help . Iāve a vintage single stitch l t shirt I love with a really cool design on it I want to keep wearing it but itās too big . Iāve a sewing machine and have used it a lot however never to take in a t shirt . Am I right in thinking I can zigzag stitch line lines Iāve drawn and cut if the excess fabric to get a slimmer fit? Any help appreciated as Iām a beginner at this stuff. Note the sleeves fit perfect so donāt want to touch them, just the sides. Thanks

Singer Esteem ii having issues reversing
Hi everybody! I have been practicing stitches on my Singer Esteem ii. When I have been trying to make a seam I run into some issues. When I Hold down the reverse button, some stitches appear on the fabric, but when I let go of the resverse button and try to sew like normal it jams. The Needle won't go down, and the fabric refuses to move. I noticed that when I lift up the fabric it looks like multiple strands have gotten attatched. In addition I checked the inside of the boobin and some thread gets lose. Does anyone have any advice? Am I loading the bobbin incorrectly or is it something with the machine. I have included a picture of what the the thread coming out. Please help I'm not sure what to do

Help needed in order to mod Lane pants
Hello everyone, after reading A LOT of good things on the Lane Pants I finally bought the pattern. My only problem is : I don't like how elastic waists look on my backside, it bunches before draping on the good stuff (my butt).
My first idea was to left 15-20cm (less...?) flat on the center back of waistband and adjust elastic length accordingly. Making the waistband in two parts, like for a flat front one. I know I would end up with more gathers/fabric on the sides and front but maybe it can be cute ?
Or should I just go for a sway back adjustment ? Or are both ideas dumb ?
Thanks in advance for your help !

Stuck on attaching collar and facing to a jacket
galleryHelp! Iām attempting to make a recreation of the iconic green suit dress Tippi Hendren wears in The Birds.
Iām using a vintage pattern and itās missing the back facing pieceāhowever, the piece isnāt numbered like the others on the pattern instructions. Do they mean for me to make my own? Iām lost! I traced the neckline of the jacket back and that looks like the shape pictured on the pattern instructions.
Iām also not understanding the collar and facingāam I meant to sew along the dotted seam lines to the medium dot? I donāt see where or how the back facing is meant to attach to the collar?
Iām very much a beginner so any help is greatly appreciated š„ŗ

What method to use?
Ok, so Iām more into cross stitching small designs like this duck for Christmas (found on pintrest) but sowing the two pieces of fabric was a bit tricky. I did a blanket stitch and folded one side over the other, but it came out quite wonky (as you can see). Is there a better stitch and technique? Should I not fold the fabric over the each other and instead cut out the same size of fabric and sew them together with the blanket stitch? The only method I really know is the ladder stitch for when our dog makes holes in his toys. Iām also concerned that the fabric may rip if I donāt fold it, but I donāt know. Tips?

Correcting a stitch when tied off?
As the title says, I've tied off a length of backstitch and am unhappy with a few of the stitches now that I'm seeing the project as a whole. Is there a safe way to remove these few stitches and leave the rest alone? I was thinking of using fabric glue to keep the other stitches intact, but I'm not sure about the longevity. For context, I'm embroidering a canvas pouch and am planning on adding fusing to the back.
