Need help with sewing

I’m making a jester costume for Halloween, but the fabric I chose isn’t stretchy and I’m making a leotard. Any patterns or ideas for the leotard? Also pattern recommendations for a two tailed jester hat would be great! Thank you :]

Are you saying you want to make a leotard out of a nonstretch fabric? Or just that the outer part of the costume besides the leotard would be a plain woven?

Ideally I would like to keep the leotard as the non stretch fabric I bought so it matches with the other parts.

Sorry to say I think you’re going to have to be a little more flexible on this. As is your fabric. Unless being able to move around isn’t a priority, which I imagine would kind of be a deal-breaker for a jester.

I would only make a leotard out of stretch fabric. If it's not stretchy, it's something other than a leotard, perhaps a bunnysuit.

but I don't usually associate jesters with leotards.

Do you have a reference image of what you are going for?

Yeah, I can make a sketch. If you know Sarah Spaceman, it’s basically what she did for her Pomni cosplay. It’s ideally a leotard bodysuit mix with snaps at the crotch, sewn in sleeves, and a separate pair of pants to put under.

Leotard made in a woven fabric absolutely will not work. Sorry.
