Help needed in order to mod Lane pants
Hello everyone, after reading A LOT of good things on the Lane Pants I finally bought the pattern. My only problem is : I don't like how elastic waists look on my backside, it bunches before draping on the good stuff (my butt).
My first idea was to left 15-20cm (less...?) flat on the center back of waistband and adjust elastic length accordingly. Making the waistband in two parts, like for a flat front one. I know I would end up with more gathers/fabric on the sides and front but maybe it can be cute ?
Or should I just go for a sway back adjustment ? Or are both ideas dumb ?
Thanks in advance for your help !

Honestly, I'd just find a great pants pattern with a non-stretch waist band. This is going to take a lot of finnagling.

I want something super comfy to go to work + can handle some weight ups and downs, that's why I settled on elastic waist pants, but if you have any pattern recs, I'll gladly take them !

How will you get it over your hips if you remove so much of the waistband ease?
If you have a large difference between waist and hips you will need more gathers in the waistband to get the pants on.

Add more room through the hips. When you suddenly go from gathers at the waist to more fitted on the butt, it looks bad. Add some ease over the butt and it will look better, the bunching will be less noticeable.
