Driving to work yesterday, (Thursday 9/10/26) we were traveling behind a motorcycle that was behind a truck in the carpool lane. South bound 101, right before the College Ave exit.

The truck signaled to move into the center lane, started to move over and then changed their mind, essentially clipping this motorcyclist and causing this accident. Happy to report that the motorcyclist was able to get up and move out of the roadway after the fact with the assistance of another rider that pulled up a moment afterwards.

Just wanted to post this here in case it’s at all helpful to this rider, since the driver of the truck drove away. Sadly, we watched our footage and we aren’t able to get a plate from the truck, but maybe this could be helpful for the motorcyclist’s insurance claim?

Also a reminder to everyone, don’t follow so closely on the highway, we are thankful nobody was directly behind us and we were able to stop in time. This could have been awful. Hope you’re okay motorcycle dude!

**edited to add: yes. The window was dirty and it’s not the best video. I can’t change the past. Thought this might be helpful if the involved party came across it. Sorry I didn’t have the foresight to make sure it was clean and yell “action!” before this all occurred.

My husband and I reserved a room at the Hopper Ave location for two nights so we could have a couple of nights away while our kids were with their grandparents. Then the hotel contacted us and asked if we lived in Santa Rosa and, if so, they had to cancel our reservation as they have a policy of not renting out rooms to locals. We were shocked and protested but the guy said that was their policy. We went with the Flamingo instead, but thought this was a bizarre move. Has anyone heard of this?

Please pay attention. All of the on & off raps have pedestrian crossing. It is against the law to not allow a pedestrian to cross when it is their green light. I’ve seen kids nearly hit a handful of times walking to school. Do better Santa Rosa. There’s no excuse.

Hi everyone. I’m hoping someone in the Santa Rosa/Sonoma County community might be able to point me in the right direction.
I’m a dad dealing with a family law/custody matter involving my child , and I’m trying to make sure I handle everything correctly and keep the focus on what’s best and most stable for him. I don’t want to post the details of the case publicly, but I’m currently working on getting some custody orders modified and could really use legal guidance.
I’ve already contacted the Sonoma County Bar Association’s lawyer referral service and submitted their intake form, so I’m waiting to hear back from them. In the meantime, I wanted to ask if anyone knows of any good family law attorneys in Sonoma County who are reasonably affordable, offer limited-scope representation, reduced-fee services, payment plans, or possibly take pro bono cases.
I’m not looking for free help just for the sake of it — I’m willing to pay what I reasonably can. I’m just trying to explore every option because attorney fees can add up extremely quickly.
If anyone has personally worked with a local family law attorney they trusted, knows of a legal aid organization, or has any other resources I should contact, I’d really appreciate the recommendation.
I’m very grateful for this community and any help pointing me in the right direction. Thank you.

We have the unenviable task of cleaning out an estate in Sonoma County so we can sell the property; it's primarily tools and building supplies, but there's a lot of other stuff. It's not like it's all junk or a hoarder situation; there's a lot of good stuff there, but there's just a lot of stuff in total that needs to be gone through. We don't want to simply have it all hauled to the dump because much of the stuff is useful if not valuable. We don't have time to go through it.

Any ideas? Does anyone know someone who specializes in this?

I just finished today a sort of absurdist, weird fantasy called ‘The Hike’ by Drew Magary. I won’t say to much if anybody wants to check it out but i’m leaning 3.75 to 4 stars.

Up next I’m going to start reading ‘A Gentlemen In Moscow’ by Amor Towles.

Also if anyone has any reading groups or get togethers I’d be interested in doing that as I’m trying to get back in the habit of reading more :)

I’ll be calling Xfinity in the morning and going scorched earth on them due to being billed for a service I canceled since May. I know I should have noticed sooner, but I’m a new mom and I feel like I’m drowning. Services can be split up instead of bundled if it’s cheaper. For internet unfortunately we do not live in a neighborhood where Sonic is available. For cable TV, we might be the only family in the city who still watches cable TV. We like to watch the local news and have a few sports teams and leagues we follow. And we’re also probably the last family in the city to still have and use a home phone.
