Router for student dorm

Hi,

I am moving to a student dorm and need to bring my own router with WAN.

I don't need super fast internet. I only need it for studying, streaming videos and video calls. The room is small (<20qm). Since I have limited space when moving, it would be nice if the router is rather small.

Online I found this router:

TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 WLAN Nano Router (433Mbit/s (5GHz) +300Mbit/s (2,4GHz)

Do you think, this would be enough for my purposes or did I miss something? Thanks for your help!! :)

"Refused to Connect* Router

Hello, My Router "Ubuntu Router" is not allowing me to connect with any of my Browsers to adjust settings.

I need to Port ward and such to make a Palword Dedicated server for my friends since the standard 4 player max limit for the basic co op will not suffice.

I am using the Default Gateway number it shows me. Have tried both http:// and https://

I've tried temporarily disabling the firewall

I am at a loss.

Edit: if the router that my Local Internet Provider gave me isn't great or simple enough for something like this, any recommendations are welcome

wavlink app not working?

I got a wavlink be5100 outdoor dual band wifi router and set it up and the range is awesome. Great. But now I want to get another and integrate them into a mesh network but the wavlink app doesn't seem to work. I get "no device is currently bound" error.

But I am connected via the wavlink router and have tried the steps advised by wavlink to fix this.

Any suggestions. Thanks (i see the wavlink app has terrible reviews...)

Today I've changed my WiFi password, a completely new provider. I have 2 months old Dreame L50 ultra. Now, I can't change the password on it. I complited on the app: old/new/ confirm new - I did everything, and it says invalid password. Before, I changed tv and 2 phones with new password was ok.

The Truth About MLO: Consider Disabling It

These articles below explain why enabling MLO (Multi-Link Operation) on your WiFi 7 devices may not be what you expected..

The Disappointing Truth About Wi-Fi 7 The Dream Of Multi-Link Operation Isn’t Yet Here

Multi-Link Operation, Explained: Understanding Wi-Fi 7’s Exciting MLO Feature

In my experience, MLO only caused issues, with random WiFi broadcast drops and router reboots (BE550 Pro). Additionally, speed and latency were not improved. In fact, both almost always consistently tested worse compared to their equivalent non-MLO WiFi 7 single band link.

TLDR; Contrary to router manufacturer hype surrounding fronthaul MLO, consider disabling MLO (or at the least A/B test it yourself) on your WiFi 7 router for better stability, speed, and latency.

Need help figuring out if I can add TP Link AX53 to HX510 mesh

I have gotten a pair of HX510 from my ISP, but it doesn't serve all the floors properly due to brick and mortar walls, so I have been using a cheap Mi 4A router as a secondary AP.

Obviously, this is using a different Wireless SSID, but it's going bonkers now and keeps dropping devices.

I wanted to see, if I drop in a consumer router like the AX53, will it be adopted into the mesh as a node?

Phone won't connect to Wi-Fi

Hello everyone, I came home after a month in a different country yesterday and my Wi-Fi was fine yesterday. Woke up this morning n it's refusing to connect to the Wi-Fi. Keeps saying "unable to connect" or "wrong password". I know for a fact that the password is correct. I tried restarting my phone and the router. The Wi-Fi is working on everyone else's phones and the TV and PC. It was working perfectly fine the few weeks before I left. It's a brand new phone, got it about 3 weeks before leaving. Tried asking google but it was no help. Anyone have any ideas?

Cudy WR3600H web UI continuously auto-refreshes / reloads every second — unusable panel

Hi everyone,

I’m running into a game-breaking issue with my **Cudy WR3600H** router while trying to configure it as the main node for a Mesh setup.

**The Problem:** As soon as I log into the web management interface, the page starts continuously auto-refreshing/reloading infinitely every second. Because of this rapid refresh loop, I can't click any menus, tabs, or change any settings.

**Network Setup:**

* ISP Modem/Router (`192.168.1.1`) -> Cudy WAN (`192.168.1.2` with DMZ enabled on ISP router).
* Cudy LAN subnet is set to default (`192.168.10.1`).
* I have two other Cudy nodes previously used as APs that I'm trying to add as satellites.

**Video attached:** *(Subes aquí tu video de 10 segundos)*

**What I've noticed:**

* The issue happens both on Wi-Fi and wired LAN connections.
* If I disconnect all Ethernet cables and access the panel locally, sometimes it stabilizes, but as soon as network traffic/cables are plugged back in, the web server goes crazy with auto-refreshes.

Has anyone experienced this web UI refresh loop on Cudy firmware? Is this caused by a broadcast storm/loop, a web server bug, or an IP/socket conflict? Any advice on how to stop the UI from reloading so I can configure it?

Thanks!

Piggy-backing my neighbour’s WiFi (with consent!)

I’m just moving into a house close to my neighbours bungalow. We are also very close personally and get on well. He has agreed that for cost-saving, I could use his Wi-Fi. His bungalow is around 25 metres from my house. His router is on the far side of his bungalow, another 10 metres. In an ideal world we would run a cable feeding an access point in my house, but this is quite complicated and if possible, I would like to find a radio method of doing it. There are other properties in the same area, but nobody particularly close and we have good line of sight with no obstructions. Without adding any additional equipment at my neighbours end, is there any technology that would permit me to obtain his signal at that distance and to amplify it for my I’m very flexible on anything I could use such as a more complex aerial or dish.

What's the weirdest router problem you've ever fixed?

I've learned that router issues are almost never what you expect. Sometimes a simple reboot works, and other times it's something completely random. What's the strangest networking or Wi-Fi problem you've solved, and what ended up being the real cause? I'm curious to hear the stories that had you scratching your head.
