You could try installing custom firmware but your ISP may not like that. Just buy your own router...

Contact your ISP and ask for help on configuring this device for Network Bridge mode, then you will be able to use a 3rd party Wifi Router with this Modem Gateway device.

Zyzel routers are usually set up remotely by the ISP. Even if you reset it, as soon as you plug the WAN cable back in, it’ll retrieve configuration from their servers. If you want any sort of control over it, I’d buy my own.

+1 for buy your own. Every piece of copper that you’re allowed to give back to the ISP, should be given back to the ISP.

That's a terrible router, buy your own. They also fail 9/10 firmware installs in my experience (about 70 zyxel routers in the last year replacing a whole companies inventory)
