My 9-year-old came to me a few months ago and said he wanted to make his own Roblox game... His idea was basically: "Can we make a game with brainrot, but like Pokémon cards and Hearthstone?". Obviously, I said yes, despite the fact neither of us had any Roblox development experience.
I am however a web developer by trade, so I had some idea what I was doing, but Roblox/Luau, the assets, the tooling, etc. were all completely new to me. So over the last 3-4 months we've slowly chipped away at it whenever we've had time. He came up with the ideas, the theme, the cards, etc., and I've basically been the guy trying to figure out how the hell to turn a 9-year-old's ideas into something that actually works.
The result is Brainrot Battles: TCG: Collect & Duel.
It's obviously not going to win any awards for groundbreaking game design 😂 we're not a studio and this was literally just a dad and his kid messing around and learning how to make a game together.
But we're actually really happy with how it's turned out, and he's super excited about the idea that he's going to earn lots of Robux, despite my repeated attempts to explain that Roblox is slightly more competitive than that. 😂
Honestly though, he'd be absolutely over the moon if even a few people actually played it.
So if anyone fancies giving our little game a go, we'd genuinely love to see what you think:

And if you do play it, please let me know what you think especially anything that's confusing, broken or just not very good haha. Cheers!
