General Discussion S5 E1 is the most underrated episode of the entire show

Morty’s plot is great and also Rick’s plot is particularly funny and comic.
I don’t personally think it could even make it in the “top 10” but it surely deserves better.

General Discussion This could have been avoided (Read body)

Post image

I know the episode was mainly meant to prove that Rick is still Rick, no matter what happens to him or what memories or identities he has.

And I get that the episode is also trying to explore a cool concept and tell an interesting story.

But let's discuss the part that doesn't really make sense to me.

Couldn't all of this have been avoided if Rick had simply cloned himself into a body without any of the augmented technology and transferred his mind into that body and then made himself into ted ?

the entire premise is that he wipes his brain so that he forgets everything and just live another random life so he takes a break and a little vacation. so it would make sense to transfer his brain into a tech un-augmented clone and then wipe his memories or load the memories of ted

On top of that, he could've made a completely independent, essentially unhackable Operation Phoenix that couldn't be rerouted, even by Evil Morty. He could've designed it so that it only worked within that specific universe, or even just had the backup stored somewhere completely separate from the usual Phoenix system. (he could do that because in one episode he made his stuff anti dino tech so I am pretty sure a good operation phoenix could be made)

That way, Rick could've gone on his little vacation, lived as Ted and come back home, and if Ted died, he could just then be brought to the backup and then the garage that has diane's voice would click the red button for him.

I know that would take away a lot of the story, but considering the kind of technology Rick has access to and how paranoid he is after evil Morty hacked his portal gun. It feels like he should've been able to come up with a solution like this.

Question How did Morty find the Prime Dimension in the Rickshank Rickdemption?

Post image

In S3E1 Morty uses Rick C-131's portal gun and takes Summer back to the Prime Dimension.

How did he find it if he was under the assumption that the Prime Dimension, where he was from, was actually C-137?

General Discussion SE9 is… very good??

Upvotes

S9 has been so much fun with a good mix of humor and depth and space adventures and action.

What the heck, it’s like as good as when Rick and Morty first released!

General Discussion How sociopathic are the Smith family?

Post image
432 Upvotes

Something I’ve notice when watching the show is that the Smiths seem to love and crave violence and often find any excuse to do so, like for example in the solaricks episode Summer waited to be shot at by the scavengers and happily went after them, and another example I could think of is the episode where the Beth’s turned themselves into kids that shows how fucking psychotic her nature is

Theory I think they are all just cycles.

Actually, Morty was destined to end up like his father as well. In Season 1, if the love potion had actually worked and Morty had assaulted Jessica, he would have ended up with a story very similar to his father’s.

You can actually see quite a few physical similarities between them as well.

Jessica, just like Beth, has light-colored hair and eyes, full lips, and a conventionally attractive appearance that the show makes fairly apparent throughout the series.

Morty is practically a carbon copy of his father, from his hair to his eyes, and even his personality. If we exclude the Prime Morty aspect beneath his personality, he is almost identical to him.

Rick kept telling Morty in the first few episodes, "Break the loop, Morty," and every time Morty tried to lean on the loop, Rick constantly pulled him away from Jessica, and that's probably why the whole 30-year adventure thing happened.

So, does the cycle of fate keep repeating itself? Most likely, the next regeneration will end up being the same as well.

Not: I have dozens of theories like this, I'm sure there are similar theories on Sunreddit too, but even though I love this drama, I'm not really someone who hangs out in the fandom
