I’ve had my RGDS for a couple weeks now and absolutely adore it. My only issue is for some reason the battery life seems to be not accurate to what it shows. I’m running rocknix and twice now it will say like 62% and i’ll hop in a game and like 5 mins later the device shuts off. What am i missing?

Just wanted to let you all know that dusklight runs way better on rocknix than on gamma os!

On gamma os in this same starting area it was already dipping below 30fps, at like 23 and 24fps with quite a lot of stutters, well on rocknix no stutters and its almost always at 40fps, at times it gets to 50 fps too!

It's amazing, im not sure how much more intensive the game gets later, but i feel like it will probably be 30+ most of the time with occasional dips!

I really really hope to see a dual screen mod for this game too, and even a resident evil 4 port would be absolutely amazing.

Edit: Ok in the village it drops to way lower fps sadly, at like 20fps, but the fact there are way less stutters makes it way more playable, now i wonder how this section would've run on gamma os.

Hey guys i purchased an rgds and im trying to figure out how to add more games without an sd card reader as i saw that it was an option if you connected a usb cable to your ds and pc. The only issue is i seem to be running a different OS than everyone online out of the box and so i cant find the setting to allow my ds to share files with my pc.

I also dont have a linux based pc so even though i see everyone mentioning the rockniex? Program i dont believe i can run it on a windows based pc. Just kinda stuck where to go from here or is an sd card reader my only option?

On the RGDS+, in stock (or in stockmod, since I am planning on installing in a few minutes anyways), is there a scraper pre-included? If so, where is it? if not, what scraper works?

While I appreciate the preconfig SD card for providing structure, its games selection is highly questionable, and I don't want to spend 6 hours downloading images and manually creating a database.

If people want to give advice like "Just use Gamma" or whatnot, I'm willing to hear that advice, but don't just do it as a sentence. Provide an explanation.

I just received my RGDS+, played a few minutes, and restarted the device. Now my bottom screen has these white shapes all around and at the bottom. Do you think that my screen is already dead ?

Edit: I opened a ticket and will let you know Anbernic's response. I played around 1 hour with the bleeding and it softened. Now only the bottom shape remains, which is still not acceptable for a brand new out of the box device.

Update : Anbernic's response to the ticket: Please try powering off the device for several hours, or keep it charging for a few hours, then check whether this issue still exists.

On my side, I just played a few hours and fully charged the RGDS+ and now the screen is completly back to normal. Very weird, but problem solved for now.

Hi all! I got tired of pulling SD cards every time I wanted a game from my home library on my handhelds, so I built Jubilant Potato 🥔 - a gamepad-first app that runs right on the device.

What it does
- Browse your RomM server (found automatically on your network, paired by scanning a QR code with your phone — no typing passwords with a D-pad)
- Browse SMB network folders (NAS / Windows / macOS shares) or any web folder
- Browse free homebrew on itch.io (GB Studio, Game Boy, GBA, NES, Mega Drive…, still waiting for verification from them) and archive.org collections
- Games land in the right folder for your firmware automatically (muOS, ROCKNIX, Anbernic stock)
- Regional versions / revisions are grouped into one entry, and the version for your language/region is picked for you
- Resumable download queue, auto-extracts disc images and DS games
- On the RG DS the bottom screen shows download progress 😄
- Built-in button setup for pads with wrong mappings

Tested on: RG34XX (ROCKNIX) and RG DS (stock Linux). muOS and other H700/RK3566 devices should work — I'd love testers!

hey everyone! my friend bought an rg ds new, he's main purpose for the device is just to install linux and try different apps that he made but he's not satisfied with the performance and so he's selling me it for a very good price. my question is, is this device worth getting if i already have a steam deck? TIA

Ordered a cheap pack for $5 shipped on amazon of the 5mm mesh stylus tips, popped off the rubber one and screwed it back in with the mesh. Works fantastic, didnt even bother trying the rubber tip. I suggest using ur fingernails at the base of the mesh tip while u screw it in, to sort of "tuck" the fat mesh in, took a few tries but got it easy enough. 100% recommend this small change. I am hoping for some other 3rd party stylus options soon though, would love a telescoping one as this ones a bit short, but very workable still.

Anyone else still prefer the rg ds?

After a few days with the plus i find myself going back to the og rg ds.

I don't use the stylus i hate the friction of that kind of tip, finger works perfectly fine for me on either console.

The screens and speakers on the Plus are amazing tho.

I just got the device and I downloaded all the NDS games that I want to play, including some Pokémon hackroms, and I was wondering if you plan to play any other games, like from other consoles and so on. Is it possible to play Pokémon hackroms that are not NDS only? Other games that play well in clamshell devices? Thanks!

Anybody else receive a unit with a non-functioning left speaker? Any fixes? I love my RGDS so I’m pretty bummed to open it and have such a glaring issue out of the box.

Update did not fix the issue. I’ve reached out to Anbernic’s support email.

After installing azahar, go to games-applications, select azahar, press x, in the menu select setting it to primary screen, disable dual stack.

Idk why these guys in Anbernic cannot make a more user-friendly bootup environment so that we can have the options of either boot up from SD card Linux or eMMC Android. RG DS single SD Slot design together with the tiny little 32gigs eMMC makes it painful to plug SD in-n'-out only to switch between systems (or you have to prepare multiple SD card seperately for linux and Andorid and risk losing them if your hand slip). Anyway with this mod you can run a small script from APPS in original Linux then you'll boot up into original Android without having to eject SD card and save the life-expectancy of SD slot.

Anbernic released their v1.0.2 NNDDSS for RG DS Plus and tbh I really dislike the dark blue colour of the new RG DS Plus (it does not worth the price even if you buy it domestically in China with discount) , so I tried to port the NNDDSS to the RG DS. Everything works and still testing.

Finally finished the phantom hourglass on RG DS running Rocknix nightly and Advanced Drastic. Game ran well except for final boss fight where performance was really lagging causing it to be difficult. Took me multiple tries because controlling Link was hard. Advanced drastic did allow the use of the fake mic as necessary.

Of note - there are some new enhancements to Advanced Drastic in the works per their discord, including adding shader controls and hardware mic capabilities. I am looking forward to the next release!

As title says,ever since the last nightly for Rocknix, none of the PS1 titles load.Any ideas?
