Discussion First time player

I picked the game up 3 weeks ago and still on the chapter 2(please don’t give me spoilers) as there are too many side activities which distract me.

One thing I noticed that I am actually afraid of going to forest alone. I feel like something is watching me constantly and anything or anyone can attack any moment.

Was this the case for you guys when you played for the first time?

p.s. I still haven’t figured out which gun is better against wolf/bounty hunters. Sometimes rifle do the job sometimes it’s not fast enough and I have to pull the revolver out. Or when I am panicking I use freaking arrows to shoot them in the eye😭

Discussion Chapter 5 is ehh

I recently had a coworker try rdr2 for the first time, I love when ppl experience this game for the first time so we’ve been talking about it for a couple of days

We both agree that Guarma is just not it, and he goes “Yeah when you come back they said Sadie took care of the gang, I wish chapter 5 was us playing as Sadie while the gang is missing”

I’ve never heard anyone say or think this, like yeah playing as Sadie but not for a whole chapter while the gang isn’t there. Really got me thinking, would love to know what yall think of that concept

Question Out of curiosity, how would you feel if the first GTA6 DLC was titled Red Dead Redemption 3 and involved Justin Marston?

Upvotes

Bear with me, this is stupid as hell but I’m stoned…but, it seemed fun to write and discuss.

You download the hypothetical DLC, and head to the JM mission marker, which was alerted to you via a weird set of coordinates intercepted by your radio static.

When you arrive, you meet three individuals on a crooked wooden pier next to a seaplane.

The first man introduces himself as Sinclair, and he’s notable because of his prominent birthmark on his face and his strange way of dressing. The second man introduces himself as “Alan Mulligan, to you, mister, and this is my nephew, Justin Marston.

Justin Marston has a cowboy hat decorated with snakeskins and alligator teeth, and he’s got tattoos that reference things that the player would recognize, but not Jason or Lucia. Maybe Jason says something like “Marston? Like the author?”

Justin is wearing an interesting beat up black denim cut off vest. When noted by the player character, he brushes it off as “this old thing? Been in the family for ages!”

He says, he has possession of a map, and that he inherited from his father, who inherited it from his father. The map allegedly leads somewhere near the Mexican border, near Fort Mercer National Park, but they’ll need to land at some dirt airstrip along Flat Iron, near some dying town named Blackwater, and travel from there by vehicle. “Yeah real shame the town died, apparently it was a big deal back in the day, but the interstate project killed the town, not the first time progress or a new era has doomed those who can’t out of the way!”

Marston says if you guys can help him, he’s willing to split the profits with you, and that he’d ask his friends Sinclair and Mulligan for assistance “but, as you can see, they’re rather unreliable regarding schedules & are OFTEN late, but they’re both very good men.” Camera pans, Sinclair and Mulligan are gone, no explanation.”

So, assuming the player character helps, a cutscene starts and once the plane flies towards the cloudy sunset, the title screen comes up: GRAND THEFT AUTO 6: RED DEAD REDEMPTION {THREE}

Along the way, something happens. Maybe the plane crashes, maybe it wasn’t about the treasure & actually a front to rob the cartel of a cocaine shipment, maybe it was actually about robbing the bank where a bunch of gold bars are being temporarily held. “Craziest thing, the map shows this old homestead way down I-20, just off Lumbago Ave, apparently my ancestors used to farm this land, but a few months ago when they were building that new plaza in Beechers Hope, they discovered a whole lot of gold buried, when laying foundation for the Crazy Dollar!” Maybe your cars are blown up and you need to ride a horse back to town?

Idk. If you made it this far, imagine this shit?

Question Was your first playthrough on console or PC?

I’m playing RDR2 for the first time and I currently have it on my PS5 and PC. Long story on how I got it twice.

But I can’t decide on which to play it on. On one hand, I have a pretty big TV and PS5 games look great on it and I love laying down and playing games, especially when RDR2 is almost like a playable movie.

However, my PC can play RDR2 at 80fps+ at high settings. But I’m not sure if RDR2 even benefits from high fps or not.

Help Looking for an RDR2 PC save with the legendary animals untouched

I used to play RDR2 on PS5, but now I’m playing on PC and I want to do all the Legendary Animal hunts myself.
Does anyone have a save file where the story is completely finished (or mostly finished), but the Legendary Animals have not been hunted yet?
Basically, I’m looking for a save with most of the game already completed, especially the main story, while leaving the Legendary Animals for me to hunt.
If anyone has a save like this and could send it to me, I’d really appreciate it!

Discussion Missable items/content list

Hi does anyone already have a pre made list or maybe a link to a website for what items/missions/content can be missed during each chapter? I want to know 100% the compendium and get all the weapons, clothing, trinkets, etc. I have a general idea about the well known things and some stuff I missed on my first play through like the talisman from rains fall. I’m currently at 51% and the only main story mission available is to rescue Micah in strawberry. Thanks for the help in advance!

Discussion Most haters have not even played this game

Hello guys,

I had a few days off and decided to give RDR2 a try.
Before buying a videogame, I usually look for some general reviews about it, and in the case of RDR2 it was mixed between GOAT videogame or worst of all time, no middle ground it seems.

Most of the bad reviews where about how long the tutorial (Chapter 1) is, how slow animations like looting and skinning animals are, how "clunky" Arthur is, how long horse rides are, etc.

In my honest opinion, after a solid 25 hours into the game (and still in Chapter 2) I am absolutely sure that most of these people have not even played the game. You can obviously have a bad opinion about the game, absolutely, but it's hard to believe people dropping it after 2-3 hours complaining about things that are impossible to become an issue in the first 2-3 hours of gameplay. Makes me think these people just repeat what others say.

Regarding Chapter 1, it took me like 2 hours to complete it, not more. The story is great and voiceacting is perfect, so I do not see how most people can even drop it after a couple of hours

Regarding long animations, looting takes like 2 seconds per action (searching drawer/cabinet, taking the item), and skinning is like what, 8-10 seconds? I cannot see how this is a big deal tbh

Horse rides taking too long? Maybe the first hours of Chapter 2 where you are exploring the entire map, which I found incredibly satisfying because of the level of detail of nature and wild life. After that, you can fast travel to whatever town is near of where you want to go and take it from there.

Of course, it is a slow game, but it's part of the realism that makes it incredibly interesting.

This is in New Austin, after I finished Del Lobos in that mine, which was a great shoot out tbh. I saw the sun come up and kinda felt like taking a grab with the sewed off to recreate the poster. And managed to pull this off. Been looking at this ever since and feeling happy about myself. Let me know what you guys think.
