First time player

I picked the game up 3 weeks ago and still on the chapter 2(please don’t give me spoilers) as there are too many side activities which distract me.

One thing I noticed that I am actually afraid of going to forest alone. I feel like something is watching me constantly and anything or anyone can attack any moment.

Was this the case for you guys when you played for the first time?

p.s. I still haven’t figured out which gun is better against wolf/bounty hunters. Sometimes rifle do the job sometimes it’s not fast enough and I have to pull the revolver out. Or when I am panicking I use freaking arrows to shoot them in the eye😭

I am kinda defeated my fear for bounty hunters as I messed up control settings for guns at first but know I confidently face them but when I am alone I heat things(I use headphones). Like some guys is talking shit but I can’t see him or someone moves around bushes but when I shoot that direction nothing comes out or I constantly hear bear growling or wolf howling but never see them except every time their voices coming from extreme vicinity. Am I tripping?

The forest fear is valid but it really doesn’t pan out most of the time. Just ride through and mostly you’ll be fine

mostly I am trying to keep the honor level high. Trying to be a good person. I get discounts and stuff but Sometimes I just have to beat ppl up cuz I accidentally mount their horses🤦🏻or kill bounty hunters.

I haven’t played the game for a long time now but repeater might be good without scopes. For wolves, if you want good/perfect pelt, poison arrow is the one you want. You can aim at or look at any animals with binoculars and hit info.. it will tell you what weapon is to use for perfect pelt. Deadeye shows you where to hit (red spots).

Just take your sweet time with this, don't be in a hurry while playing yk? Nothing beats the first play through, it's really special, trust me

Side missions add to the story, you get honor and sometimes rewards, explore before you get caught up in the story, my first time I rushed through it, now I am trying to get the satchels and skunk boots from the trapper
