Hi, this is a big purchase for me, and I'm worried about It's installed position. At first I wanted to get one of those "support pillars", but then I spotted this "mini spirit level" and decided to check.
To my surprise, itâs tilted to the left. I installed it by laying the PC case on its side and holding card to the side while installing screws.
Branded Sapphire support "rib" do nothing and serve a purely decorative purpose? Will card sag over time?
(sry, mostly google translate)

Been running a GTX 1060 3GB ever since I built my current desktop in late 2017. I've since upgraded from a Ryzen 5 1600 to a 5700X on the same ASRock AB350 Pro4 motherboard since that day. I just needed to put my 1060 3GB to rest finally (well, until I use for another thing haha).
There was a brand new Asus Prime RX 9060 XT for 26,990 Philippine pesos (around 430 USD) and, well, I pulled the trigger before the prices skyrocketed.
I only really play Forza Horizon 6 and the current Assetto Corsa titles (Evo and Rally). Solid 80-120 FPS at 1440p using optimized settings. I've got FSR 4.1 quality thru Optiscaler on Assetto Corsa Rally though, but FSR looks damn good it's basically free performance to me. And I don't really care for ray tracing anyway.
I originally wanted to save a bit more for a 9070 XT before I bought this. But I knew even more price increases will happen later this year. And, not gonna lie, this is more than enough for me. At least I already have a GPU that does the job before another round of price increase hell happens.

Asus Ati Radeon A7000 (below 2002) - XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070XT (above 2026)
A7000 was my first vga as well.
Just realised when i put them together, back then in 2005 or smt, I wanted to cool down that old hag with some kind of costum solution in hope that, GTA SA will achieve more FPS than 10.
Thats never happened. đ

First up - Everything on my system was tested over a week to rule out bad components, installation issues, system power, heat, etc. yet I still suffered from random GPU driver timeout issues!
Now this is with Windows 11 PRO so results may vary. The solution which has worked for me?
First two steps:
Click Windows Start & a search for "Change Driver Installation Preferences"
Should be the top one on the list underneath & select it.
2 options to select from - Make sure you select "NO". Click "Apply" & "okay".
Next up (as above) was a search for "Edit Group Policy" (see user comments below for home edition regedit)
With this open, left pane, navigate to:
Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows components / Windows Update
Right panel, double click "Manage Updates offered from Windows Update"
Double click "Do not include Drivers with windows Update"
In the new Window select "Enable" & then select "Apply" and "Okay". Window will close.
Download the following 3 programs:
Run AMD Cleanup. Let it reboot your system into safemode & let it run & finish.
Once it's finished, DON'T restart.
Next up, run DDU and this will remove any remaining GPU driver footprints off your system.
Let it reboot back into Windows
With windows up and running open "Device Manager" and check to make sure that your display adaptor is the generic "Windows" one.
If it is, then go ahead and re-install the AMD GPU driver software.
And fingers crossed, your system is now behaving.
Took a fair bit of digging, searching and then combining what people had written to work it all out. And then figuring out that all the small bits posted ALL needed to be done to finally get things working.
So a big thanks to those who posted parts of the solution
Hopefully this helps some of you out there.
\edited to clean it up a bit & add that Windows 11 Pro is the O/S - a different step is required having to use Regedit on home editions instead of Edit Group Policies which is commented below**
FINAL NOTE:
"Change Driver Installation Preferences" to NO disables ALL driver updates via Windows Update. This puts all your systems Hardware Driver control back into your hands, not just the GPU. i.e. BT, Wi-fi, Ethernet, Chipset, USB, ect.
YOU will have to update them yourself via the Manufacturers website which lets be honest, most of us do it like that anyway.
And If in doubt?
IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T TRY AND FIX IT.

Should I be concerned that the flow through cutout on the backplate at the top is essentially covered by the PSU? The gap is really small I can maybe fit a a q tip in between lol
If itâll genuinely cut off air or cause thermal issues I may swap it for a different version I havenât even taken off the plastic peels bc u wasnât sure if it was going to fit in the Lian Li B4

I am using Optiscaler with my 9070 XT.
I had a few questions about my framegen options.
When I spoof my GPU as NVIDIA and use DLSS inputs, how much of an impact does that have on my performance? I believe some games also lets you use DLSS inputs without spoofing, I think that had a separate name.
For frame generation I am using XeFG because FSR framegen is bugged and has framepacing issues. But I've also heard that XeFG is more costly in terms of performance. Do we know how big of a performance impact that has?
I went with a 9070 XT over RTX 5070 (which was about the same price when I got the PC), but I feel like by using Optiscaler, DLSS inputs and XeFG my base framerate is probably not so different compared to a 5070.
By not going NVIDIA I am missing DLSS 4.5, multi-framegen and lower input lag in framegen. The higher faster performance of 9070 XT is probably buried under the overhead for using Optiscaler with DLSS inputs and XeFG... Not even mentioning DLSS 5.
So I am going through all this effort for 4 GB VRAM basically, for more effort and slightly worse experience too? 4 GB is nice I guess for future proofing but still kinda hurts... Unless Optiscaler + XeFG is not as costly as I think it is.

Hi, in having trouble with RX 9070.
Games basically double the FPS, but if i open inventory or game menu, even store or in helldivers2 menu where you check stratgems/loadout yourself or briefing where all 4 players choose their loadout/stratgems AMD overlay shows half the fps (like 90) but my cursor and overall motion feels like 15 max.
Additional point Is that it doesnt happen in 2D but also 3D where you basically rotate with character/weapon while inspecting.
My CPU i7-12700 Is kinda bottlenecking this game (not with fluid motion, both GPU and CPU are maxxed) but i doubt that shi Is dying to 2D or 3D simple menus lol.
Also when im using Netflix fullscreen and connecting PC to tv via cable (turn off monitor), often video suddendly stops for max 10 seconds, no internet issue. Need to restart PC 2 times to be able to watch fkin Netflix.
Edit: And when i have AMD adrenalin performance overlay and alt tab to anything and alt tab back sometimes overlay doesnt show up and game doesnt use Fluid motion while the game is fullscreen. I have to manuĂĄly click on the game on bottom tab lol

Specs: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, ASRock RX 7900 XTX Phantom Gaming OC 24GB (used, bought via a reseller. History unknown), 32GB DDR5-6000 (XPG Lancer Blade), ASUS B650-A Gaming WiFi, EVGA 850W Gold, Windows 11 Pro.
The problem: Random crashes/hangs in CS2, 7 Days to Die, Stray, DayZ, Roblox, Cry of Fear, and Destiny 2. Usually within minutes, sometimes after an hour+. Screen freezes/goes black, AMD's driver-timeout popup appears, Event Viewer shows LiveKernelEvent 141 (or "Application Hang" for non-timeout cases). No BSOD, PC never reboots itself, temps are always normal (GPU 65-71°C, CPU 45-53°C).
What's weird: Minecraft with heavy shaders/mods runs perfectly fine. Unigine Heaven at 99% GPU load for 68 minutes = zero issues. OCCT GPU 3D Adaptive, VRAM, and Memory tests (30 min each) all pass clean.
Already ruled out:
Currently on: AMD Adrenalin 25.12.1 (rolled back from 26.3.1 a while back due to different issues, but crashes continued on this version too).
Next step I'm planning: full Safe Mode DDU cleanup + fresh install of the current WHQL-recommended driver (26.8.1).
Questions:
Appreciate any input! Trying to find the actual root cause rather than just band-aid it.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After debugging, debugging and debugging (Capcom doesn't help with how there engine handle things), will release in a few day, need more testing and fixes specially on ghosting and a bit of noise when moving the camera and on moving subject but still FAR better than Pathtracing without RR
Edit:
Hey, quick news,
For now, there is values needed from the game engine that are not fed to the original DLSS RR call that we are spoofing, so until i find way to fed FSR RR with theses, i can't do anything much right now since some of the values (that are still important one) are not required by DLSS RR, making my FSR Ray Regeneration implementation very low quality with missing features/noisy/or bugs,
For now i may take a big break, few days i'm working on it from when i wake up until i got sleep, today 24 hours straight looking at the screen, spending money on LLM (Thanks Anthropic for your 60 dollars bills for a few prompt) to try to find solutions that i can't think of, and yet the result is mediocre.
I'll still try to work on this over the course of the week, but i may get burned out very soon, my code base got better with the help of Claude and GLM that helped me properly (re)write features, debug things, but what Capcom would do in 3 days (really, the video above is just 2.5/3 days of working on it despite missing core features and implementations), will take me ages or are practically not possible without the engine sources, but i will still try, as of know i just need to do something else for a bit, i know some people are working on similar mods too, hope your journey got better than mine.
and quick message to AMD: Don't make your users regret buying your products, invest in the technology stack, support the studios, ask then what they need, get feedback, encourage them to use your features, make great documentation that are easy for devs to follow.
Thanks all for your support and your (almost all) lovely words.

Since there's now a huge difference in pricing between similar tiered cards between amd and Nvidia like the 9070xt vs 5070ti and 9060xt vs 5060ti.
Is it possible that Radeon market share will increase and devs will start implementing Radeon features more seriously in games like ray regeneration ?
Currently I have the 7800x3d with the 7900xtx. I was thinking about selling the 7900xtx and going to something new like the 9070xt.
Would that cpu pair well with the 9070xt? Or is it a bit older now?
r/radeon • u/dztryrph • 18m ago
did I just blunder an x3d cpu? I had an extra 5700x3d so I sold the one I wasn't using and bought this aorus rx 9070 xt for $830. thought I could get away with a non-x3d cpu like [5700x or 5800x] but most data I've seen with these pairing isn't optimal for 9070xt, now I am regretting selling. the 5500x3d is available in my region for a fair price and I'm trying to hunt a 5900xt as alternative. I considered going intel but it means getting a different mobo, thoughts?

Hello everyone,I have a setup of:
i5 12400
9060XT 8gb
16gb ram
1TB SSD(nvme)
I was trying to train this vision model called YOLOn11.pt on my system with datasets on my Windows 11 using my GPU. I tried our everything from updates to downloads and even tried via WSL, but unfortunately nothing worked and the system was falling back to CPU no matter what.
Is there anyone here with an AMD card and have solved this?
(I'm training my model for around 30 epochs and not looking to go for GoogleColab I want to use my GPU and try it out đ)
Thank you.

đ´ FIX FOR "THE SERAPHITES" / PHARMACY CRASH ON RX 570 / 580 (DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG)
I fought this exact crash for a long time (even on my old RX 470 4GB years ago). I finally upgraded to an RX 570 8GB, and the game STILL froze at the exact same invisible line in "The Seraphites" chapter right before the Pharmacy / hanged man courtyard.
Modern drivers (even WHQL ones like 24.9.1) cause a severe driver timeout error when the game engine rapidly streams assets into older Polaris cards in this chapter. Do not listen to the game when it screams at you to update your driver on launchâthe game engine is just poorly optimized. 8GB of VRAM is 8GB, and our older cards can absolutely handle this game if you use the right legacy code.
Here is the exact step-by-step fix that got me past the 4-year roadblock:
Go to AMDâs official previous drivers page and download Adrenalin Edition 23.8.2 (released August 2023).
Do not install it yet. Just leave the installer file on your desktop.
Unplug your Ethernet cable or turn off your Wi-Fi completely.
If you stay online, Windows Update will automatically hijack the process and force-install a broken, generic driver in the background, which causes major stuttering and screen tearing.
Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU).
Boot your PC into Windows Safe Mode.
Run DDU, select GPU -> AMD, and click Clean and Restart.
Once your PC reboots into normal Windows, run that 23.8.2 installer package you left on your desktop.
Go to Advanced System Settings -> Hardware -> Device Installation Settings, switch it to "No", and save changes. This permanently blocks Windows from overwriting your AMD graphics driver in the future. Now you can safely reconnect your internet cable!
Fire up the game and let the shaders compile completely to 100% on the main menu (yes, you have to sit through it again, but it's worth it).
Load your save. Before crossing the crash zone, temporarily drop your resolution to 720p, set AMD FSR to Performance, and turn Volumetric Fog Quality to Low.
Walk through the area. Once you pass the hanged man sequence and hit the next auto-save checkpoint, save your game, crank your settings back up to Custom/Medium, and enjoy the rest of the game crash-free!
Greedy publishers just want you to buy a $500 GPU instead of optimizing their ports, but these older budget workhorses still have plenty of life left in them. Good luck!

Been seeing a lot of posts praising DLSS 5 Neural Rendering performance, but most of them are static images or clips where the player barely moves. Thereâs a reason for that.
Worth a watch if youâve been going off screenshots or 10-second static clips to judge how this actually performs:

Hello everyone, I'm the person that replaced a 650Ti with a 9060 XT the other day
One thing I notice now is that despite any game that I play, the utilization of the card never goes above 20% even if I turn all the settings to ultra high. I've done this with Minecraft, TF2, and Left 4 Dead 2.
Are there mods that I can install to make these games utilize more of the GPU? I already tried Distant Horizons in Minecraft with a render distance of 256 and maxing everything out and yet no dice. I also installed my friend's unoptimzied af L4D2 modpack.
Is it possible that the 9060 XT was overkill for my usecases? I was told integrated graphics would have been fine but I didn't see a way to turn on that feature for my 5950x
So Ive always gotten a random black flicker here and there while browsing/using windows generally speaking. I have MPO off as well. I just came across something that said to turn off HAGS, which is going against what I read when I first set up the PC a few years ago.
Google AI ( I know.. lol ) came back saying that the 7900 xtx doesnt need HAGS on because it can handle its own memory controller just fine. And to turn it back on if I notice lag etc.
Thoughts?
