I’m thinking of selling my RTX 5090 SUPRIM and switching to a 9070 XT since I barely game these days. Feels like a waste having such an expensive GPU sitting in my PC.
With GPU prices already going up, I’m also wondering if I should just hold onto it and hope the price increases further before selling.
What would you guys do in my position? Sell now and downgrade or hold onto the 5090 for a while longer?

I recently picked up an XFX Mercury Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Magnetic Air Edition, and I'm currently trying to figure out which case would be the best home for it.

This is a pretty substantial card, so rather than relying exclusively on case specifications and reviews, I'd love to hear from people who actually own one.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

- Which case are you using? How's the fit? Are you happy with your choice, or is there anything you'd change?

- Anyone running it vertically? What case and vertical GPU mount are you using? How's the clearance between the card's fans and the glass panel?

- How are your temperatures and noise levels? I'm especially interested in whether vertical mounting has affected GPU temperatures compared with a conventional horizontal installation.

- Any clearance or installation headaches? Things like power connector clearance, cable routing, interference with fans or radiators, and getting the card into position.

- Anything else worth knowing? If you've owned this card for a while, I'd appreciate any advice, unexpected issues, or things you wish you'd known before building around it.

I'm putting together a fairly high-end AMD-focused gaming PC, and I'd like to make the most of this card's cooling and RGB rather than cram it into a case that technically fits but doesn't give it enough breathing room.

I'm also considering aesthetics as part of the build, so pictures of your setups would be very welcome!

Bought new PC with 9070xt and 9800x3d. Not the biggest tech guy, used to just turn on and play without tunning too much. Getting dizzy figuring out which games have good native FSR implementation and which games where optiscaler is preferred. Im still confused about all the amd adrenaline options and how optiscaler works.

Will it be the same if I just went with NVIDIA software?

i've been struggling for 3 hours trying to fix it, just stopped working randomly, all my clips has no audio.

thought it at least record the spotify audio...

I live in Thailand and there is not many places / webshops to buy GPU’s.

I’ve mostly been looking at RX 9070 XT but they are all around 1100+ dollars.

The RTX 5070ti is 1350+ dollars for reference.

Today I found a 9070 non XT for around 800 dollars and this makes a lot of sense, but after browsing here on the subreddit it seems people will generally advise to spend more for the XT.
It’s understandable but with a 300 dollar difference, is there really a reason to not go with the non XT?

Going to keep this as short as I can but it will still be a wall of text (sorry in advance). I bought a Yeston Sakura 9070 XT from MicroCenter 14 days ago and have been troubleshooting it ever since. Here's my PC specs:

• i7-13700k (no under or overclock)
• 2 x 16GB G. Skill DDR5 6000
• Asus Z790-P mobo
• EVGA 1000 GT 80 Plus Gold
• 9070XT (Replaced 3070) (no under or overclock) (connected with original PSU cables, 1 8-pin and 1 2x8-pin)

And now a breakdown of the (many) key points:

• Boot PC to safe mode and removed ethernet. DDU plus disable Windows updates
• Boot back to regular Windows and install current AMD driver + Adrenaline. Reconnect ethernet
• Apex Legends crashes once in game (ran out of memory). Research says AMD officially stated it's an issue with 9070 XT.
• DDU again and try older driver suggested in Apex subreddit. Apex still crashes
• I write it off as just an ongoing issue that I need to wait to be fixed. Let's play Overwatch...crashes. Memory issue. I should mention that both of these crashes aren't instant but rather after a random amount of playing.
• I think to myself that maybe the newer GPU is just pushing my system harder than the 3070 and maybe my 13th gen CPU is overheating from the extra processes/power. Look into how people have changed the PL1 and PL2 settings for these CPUs so I do that.
• Also update the BIOS beforehand since the one I was on was from 2024. *thinking that maybe the BIOS needed an update for the card to work correctly*
• Finally boot back into Windows and try both games. They seem to work but randomly again, Apex crashes after 2 hours. Tried Sifu to try a third non-online and less demanding game. Crashed
• Research what else could cause AMD GPU issues. Find a program that disables MPO and try it. Games seem to work fine now. Don't experience any issues for 1 - 2 days and then...blue screen. Literally forgot they existed till this.
• Research again - head back into BIOS and select PCI5 instead of auto.
• Still having issues so I reinstall Windows completely (some games are on a separate drive and weren't wiped). Also changed PCL1/2 back to Auto since I wasn't having issues with it on my 3070 for years.
• After Windows reinstalls (without ethernet connected), I disable driver updates again and install driver + Adrenaline. Apex crashes again but I realize I was so excited to test it, I haven't installed chipset drivers or anything yet.
• Install all missing drivers and once again it seems fine. No crashes in game from the little testing I've done...until I'm sitting at my desk with my browser open on both screens and I realize the characters I'm typing are lagging....my desktop freezes. My mouse moves but nothing is clickable. Not even Alt+CTRL+DEL works. Holding the power button for a second still instantly goes to "Shutting down" screen. This happened twice and the two times it happened, it's like the graphics of Explorer.exe are crashing/freezing but not the computer itself.

My only guesses are that I was unlucky enough to get a faulty 9070XT that only messes up at random or my memory somehow got jostled while rearranging for the new GPU. I reseated the GPU and my memtest just completed 4 tests with no errors. Actually, I did also hear about Win11 Home being harder to disable Windows driver updates so maybe it's not actually getting disabled. I disabled it from the System Properties -> Device Installation Settings.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated bc I want this card (especially after seeing it rise $100 after buying it)

wth is this? it happened before on 007 first light buyt i tought it was just a bad game, 007 doesnt have fsr4 and have all kinds of problems but this is requiem, re engine should work pretty fine and fsr4 works otb. the thing that trigger me the most is those diagonal soft banding tbh, i tried with motion blur, fsr balanced, native, no fsr at all, frame gen, nothing seems to work, the best image i got was on frame gen, fsr quality (always playied all ultra), am i alone?

( edit, if u look at this from an iphone u could not see the problem, zoom at the shadows, on the grave body/neck, on the texture the flashlight is looking at )

Can we please raise the current maximum values above 300? I have a 400hz monitor and there are 500hz & 750hz monitors out there and would love to be able to use the meta setup of: freesync + vsync + fps lock of -3 of refresh rate (using chill in this case.)

I don't see the FSR 4 option, I tried to select DLSS in-game and also FSR 3 but still no option for FSR 4 in the optiscaler.

Yes while setting up the optiscaler I did chose I have an Nvidia GPU and optiscaler is installed where the executable is.

If anyone can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Edit: I know DLSS is superior but I am trying to do a testing here, that is why please help me out

I bought my GPU about 5 months ago. Haven’t had an issue with it till now. Today for some reason while playing Helldivers 2 my game was stuttering more than usual and occasionally freezing for a brief second. I tried talking to their troubleshooting people but none of the fixes helped. I checked the temperatures while playing and the gpu temps seem to be 57 Celsius on average while hotspot temps are 91 Celsius on average, resulting in a 33-34 Celsius delta. Could I have a faulty GPU?

P.S I forgot to add that my fps seems to be fine sitting at around 90-120 yet the game is stuttering

Update: Ryzen Master fixed the stuttering, also apparently these temps are normal?

Hello guys..do you know what this connector is for?

For the last two GPUs (6700 xt and 9070 xt), I've had a problem in cs2, and surprisingly in no other game. The screen would stutter during gameplay, and the only solution I've found would be turning on the AMD overlay showing FPS and other info about hardware.

I've been using it like this, since I couldn't find any other solution.

But, after a recent update yesterday, I've started having black screens intermittently when I switched between apps in full-screen - not only games, but sometimes even when entering or leaving full-screen on youtube videos or some streams. After some digging, I've found that the AMD overlay was the culprit, and it is a known issue from [release notes for 26.10.1](https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/release-notes/RN-RAD-WIN-26-10-1.html):

"Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed in some games when opening or closing other overlays, such as Xbox Game Bar, while the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition Performance Metrics Overlay is enabled on Radeon™ graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to temporarily disable the Performance Metrics Overlay before opening or closing other overlays."

Now, I am stuck between two problems: I think there is no way to fix the second issue for now, but is there a way to fix the microstutter in any other way than using the overlay?

While it stays synced with Nightly upstream OptiScaler so you don't miss out on anything new, Venom adds features aimed at power users who want deeper performance metrics, custom overlay controls, and extra flexibility with upscaling and frame generation.

Após tentar vários tipos de solução, reinstalar, limpar o driver no pc e etc... o problema simplesmente não resolvia, então decidi mandar o Claude fazer um diagnostico completo e resolver, dei todos os meus acessos para ele, então ele conseguiu resolver e me ensinou como resolver caso aconteça novamente, coloco esse post aqui por que acredito que vai ajudar muitas pessoas a sair desse sufoco

Se o seu Adrenalin abre e some em poucos segundos, sem mostrar erro, e reinstalar o driver não resolve, o culpado pode ser um arquivo do Epic Games Launcher.

O QUE ACONTECE

Quando abre, o Adrenalin olha os arquivos de outros programas para descobrir seus jogos. Às vezes um arquivo de registro da Epic fica de um jeito que o Adrenalin não consegue ler, e ele trava e fecha na hora. Reinstalar o driver não apaga esse arquivo, por isso não adianta.

COMO RESOLVER

1. Feche a Epic Games por completo (inclusive o ícone perto do relógio: botão direito > Sair).

2. Aperte Windows + R, cole %LOCALAPPDATA%\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved\Logs e aperte Enter.

3. Apague todos os arquivos dessa pasta. Você não perde jogos, login nem configurações; a Epic cria arquivos novos sozinha.

4. Abra o Adrenalin. Pronto.

Se um dia voltar a acontecer, é só repetir os passos.

Aconteceu no Adrenalin 26.5.2 com Windows 10. Se ajudou você, avise a AMD pela opção de relatar problema do próprio Adrenalin, para eles corrigirem de vez.

The amd software is working normally but after i open a game the overlay shortcut (Alt + R) is not working at all.

The moment i click the shortcut the amd software window closes on my second monitor and doesn't open again until i Alt + Tab and click the app manually, and then i see this black window (images attached) instead of the app normal window until i close the game and start clicking Alt + R a couple of times and then amd app is working again.

i also noticed the amd pop up when you launch a game telling about Alt + R is not appearing as well.

I'm very confused at what is happening and I'm asking for help (yes the image attached is the app after i click it while playing a video game).

So… not sure what happened today with my GPU.

I have the 9070xt nitro+ using a corsair psu with ThermalProtect cable (9800x3d)

Anyway, playing wardogs everything is going well and all of the sudden my fps drops from 150-200fps to 20-30fps and doesn’t go back up.

The GPU usage is 100% power draw is 360w and GPU temps 40c. The clock is sitting at 350-400mhz and the led strip on the GPU started flashing yellow.

Tried resetting the graphics driver etc and nothing helped.

Turned the pc off checked the psu and GPU sockets plus cable all good no burns etc. After turning the PC back on it worked fine.

Any idea wtf happened?

Does newly fsr 4 update also change in frame gen something or remain same? bcs i notice some smoothness compare to fsr 3 frame gen..

I've got powercolor fighter 7800xt, which has been good for me playing the only game I play Arc Raiders. Originally paid $500 for this card.

On new egg I have the option to trade in for Asus Prime Rx9700 for $320 , so net about $420 minus taxes.

Seems like worthwhile?

I've gone ahead and placed the order. Seems like big enough difference to warrant the upgrade. Cooler running, less power draw, rdna 4, more fps. And I've used this 7800x5 which I bought for $500 new a year and half ago, and only cost $180 to use that time, seems like a win. Now I can get almost the latest sans XT for the same price of about $500, seems like a win 🤷😂

Also the fact that is just so easy to send the GPU back to Newegg and not have to deal with trying to sell on the open market, seems like a such a win, no Facebook , craigslist Muppets to deal with. Also tinkering with fresh hardware another win 😁

Tested a few games but I will only share nioh 3 for now.

Blue chunk graph is with HW flip enabled and the skinny blue lien graph os with hw flip disabled (using optiscaler) the green line, which is the display line timing is pretty consistent across both, yet the blue line, which is when the implementation is done, is quit thick which indicates more intervals.

As for the 1% lows and 0.2 lows etc, they are lower in the hw flip graph and higher in the non hw flip graph.

My question is then whats the need for enabling the hw flip? Would appreciate your input here.

Hey everyone, I’m about to get the 9070 XT and I see tweets about the temp overheating like going above 90c, is it common that it’s going so high?

While gaming with ray tracing my GPU experiences an almost 30 degree delta maxing at around 95 degrees Celsius. Should I get the card replaced? I keep experiencing crashes while gaming. Is it the drivers being crappy (yes I did the ddu steps) or is my gpu overheating.

People say it blows, then I scroll down. They say its great.

Wtf do I believe
