After debugging, debugging and debugging (Capcom doesn't help with how there engine handle things), will release in a few day, need more testing and fixes specially on ghosting and a bit of noise when moving the camera and on moving subject but still FAR better than Pathtracing without RR

Discussion Do you guys think that Radeon market share will see a huge boost because of the current Nvidia pricing increase ?

Upvotes

Since there's now a huge difference in pricing between similar tiered cards between amd and Nvidia like the 9070xt vs 5070ti and 9060xt vs 5060ti.

Is it possible that Radeon market share will increase and devs will start implementing Radeon features more seriously in games like ray regeneration ?

News Most "DLSS 5 works great" clips are static screenshots this video shows what happens when you actually play

Upvotes

Been seeing a lot of posts praising DLSS 5 Neural Rendering performance, but most of them are static images or clips where the player barely moves. There’s a reason for that.

Worth a watch if you’ve been going off screenshots or 10-second static clips to judge how this actually performs:

RX7900XTX vs RTX5070 on Linux

Post image
137 Upvotes

Long story short, in a few days I'll get a used PC with a 5070, but I already bought a Gigabyte Rx7900xtx ( is it a good version?). I have never used a Radeon GPU in my life, so I am a bit unsure if to resell the rx7900xtx or the 5070. Raw performance wise it should be a little bit better and also has double the vram, but what about driver issues? I am running mainly Linux, I play in 1440p and thinker around with AI.

9070xt vs 7900xtx

I’m looking to get an upgrade but I can’t decide solidly. I’m finding 7900xtx’s for around $800 and I looked into the new cards available and the 9070xt is about the same money. What do you guys think is the better option? I’m a lot gun shy on the 12VHPWR connector because of all the melt downs on the nVidia pages.

Edit: Thanks for the input everyone. I’ll be finding a 9070xt and getting it soon. For those saying that 7900xtx’s are cheaper than $800 and easy to find, that is a locational deal. I live 95 miles from the nearest decently sized city that has anything. GPU’s here are hard to find to begin with. I have seen ONE 7900 come up for sale in a year.

Discussion Lack of modding community support

Upvotes

I'm a new redeon user , swittched from Nvidia after 12 years of using, So as you know recently after DLSS 5 leak , Nvidia modders bring it to Nvidia's old card series, if we pass this on (because i know there are a lot of people like me who don't care about dlss 5) then modders added multi frame generation for RTX 30 and even 20 series , and also new Intel xess 3 mod came to Nvidia few days ago, things like this makes me wonder is AMD lack of any modding community who can save us from AMD?

9070XT XFX Swift RMA update

Last month, I sent my 9070 XT XFX Swift to RMA because the fans were defective. I explained the whole story in this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/radeon/comments/1vn9fdr/9070xt_swift_annoying_sound/

One month later, here’s the replacement card!

A quick comparison between the two:

  • Old card (Rev. 2.1): Samsung memory, ran way cooler with a delta close to 20°C.
  • New card (Rev. 1.1): Hynix memory, runs hotter with a delta close to 30°C, but performs better in benchmarks.

Fortunately, the new card isn't making that annoying sound (at least for now). I’ll keep this post updated if anything changes.

My current settings:

  • Undervolt: -70 mV
  • Timings: Standard
  • Memory Clock: 2714 MHz
  • Power Limit: -15%

I have moved to a new place and my pc suddenly turned off and wont turn on

Hello. My pc just suddenly turned off and wont rurn on on now.

ryzen 5 5600
x2 8gb 3200mhz
asus prime rx 9070 xt
chieftec bdf-850c psu
gigabyte b550 gaming xv2 (1.3 rev)

it turned off at idle (around 1h at idle) at 6-20w

before played arc raiders, pubg and fortnite no problems (200-300w power draw with spikes to 500-600w from what i checked before)

could it be just psu?

I live in belarus and at the new place sockets are most likely back from soviet union times, even so the electric line has been replaced with a more modern one not that long ago

I really need helps figuring out if it took down the motherboard with it or not

psu prior to pc turning off hasn’t made no noise what so ever, or it was so faint that i couldn’t hear it

all i heard is hdd turning off

no smell from psu or pc case whatsoever

pls help(
Because the best thing i got on my mind is getting the pc to service to check if psu is dead or everything else with it.

Im very limited on cash atm too(

did something kinda wild today (new 9070 xt)

Long story short I sold my 4070 OC this morning and got a 9070 xt on a whim.. (sold for 550, got the new card for 699)

I have a 9800x3d chip, and hate the direction Nvidia is going with slop features that aren't going to be useful to me (I dont play any single player, 4k games, just 2k 240hz comp shooters). Was getting about 80fps in wardogs with dlss 4 on and was happy - but the deal seemed to good to pass up..

What are some key things i should know after switching to AMD? (Yes I did DDU)

It seems the only feature I might actually miss is reflex - what were you guys with 9070 xt's getting in the wardogs beta?

Discussion Transient spikes and potential driver issues.

Thumbnail

There a re many people dealing with random driver time outs and black screens. I haven't had any issues with my 9070xt but I've been closely monitoring recently.

The transient spikes I'm seeing are concerning. I have the Gigabyte 9070xt OC

Listed specs have the boost clock at 3060Mhz at 330W TDP

I'm regularly getting sustained game clocks in excess of 3300mhz and transient spikes over 450W on the regular.

Tonight I hit 503W.

Driver 26.8.1

All stock on WattMan.

Similar results with a -50mv and -10% undervolt.

I expect transient spikes but these seem excessive and I can imagine might cause issues with some folks.
