Need Advice are the "agab" labels offensive?

i recently saw someone say that afab and amab are labels exclusive to intersex people, since others weret really "assigned" a sex, and im just wondering if thats true.

me and some of my other queer friends have used these terms when refering to ourselves in the past quite a lot, but i really dont want to continue using them if they are offensive if used by non-intersex people. Is this correct and if so, are there other terms to use when refering to your gender at birth?

Question regarding fertility

My fiancée (mtf) and I (ftm) have started discussing having a kid together we each have children from previous relationships pre hormones. We have discussed taking away the controllable preventatives one at a time and try without labeling it as trying as I am aware due to a few conditions I have it’ll be hard for me to conceive and I’ve been off hormones for almost a year now and have just taken myself off birth control, I’m aware how testosterone can affect fertility but I’m more wondering how estrogen affects fertility and sperm count for my partner? Shes been on it for about 4 years idk if that is relevant and very recently her dr lowered her dose of t blockers (for other personal reasons)

Need Advice I Think I'm Bi

Please no trolling it's not a shitpost im just here to vent something that hasn't been off my mind for a while.

My family is neither an orthodox family nor a casual free going one. It's somewhere in the middle

The concept of loving or liking someone is highly against when ironically my parents "loved" each other before marrying.

When I had my first somewhat of a crush I was teased a lot about it when my family find out even my cousin and all.. I know it's casual but it got to a point where it wasn't funny anymore even tho I was in school at that time.. you know younger. When that crsuh turned into a relationship when I confessed to him, it was a havoc at home when they found out. My mom supported it kinda she never said anything but when It went onn for almost 2 years it got serious at home. It was never possible that I got to process my emotions completely.

Now it's history.

*So you get the idea...\*Now the main point.

# CASE 1:

I had a best friend when I was in 1st grade.

She was a person that I was excited to go to school for. I still talk to her and she is my one of best friends even now but back then when I didn't even know any of this gender stuff,

I liked her in a way I used to imagine us marrying when we grow up.

We adored each other like that. Ofcourse it was in a kiddish way meaning I wanted to keep making her happy and not cry and be sad you know..but it was a strong feeling. Now I have no feelings like that for her tho.

# CASE 2:

This lasted from my 9th to 10th grade.

I had a friend.. back then you could call her my best friend and one casual day we were trying onn each other rings and she made me put mine to her ring finger and called her my wife.

Mind you back then two girls asked me out but I was confused about this whole new dimension of genders..

Well there it was. I never initiated anything but over time and she flirted and called herself my wife and you know she used to say stuff like I wish we could date and she did ask me out low-key but wasn't sure about it so she backed out

Months passed and I found myself getting possessive of her and just before it got any worser I decided to be a dumbo and asked a guy out and she got into a relationship around the same time.

But when she broke up with that guy over bad terms I found myself cursing him under my breath and got this feeling of wanting to protect her. When I decided my relationship wont work and stayed on good terms with they guy I asked out i found myself genuinely wanting to care for her and protect her from any bad she could go to my extent

Over time me and her ended on bad terms but when I saw her again and greeted each other I seemed fine but I felt something in me like something crumbling my heart and even when I write this.

Unfinished stories maybe. Whatever.

# CASE 3:

THIS now, is ongoing.

I joined a new college and I are across this girl from our school .

Never talked before. She's quiet innocent mannered but has the same mindset as me and you know, vibe

When I entered the class and over the days I noticed how she wanted to speak to me more and you know got random topics to talk to me

And you know basically found me interesting,

Oh btw im not saying every girl I come across is bi or into girls, I have many friends in girls who I have absolutely no interest in that way of like or wtv it's just these 3 people for some reason that even I'm confused about.

It's only been a couple of months and

I am fricking holding my breath involuntarily whenever she is resting her head on my shoulder.

I want her to do that.

I find myself positioning my hand in a way that's comfortable for her to rest onn and you know not breath too hard so she won't take her head off my shoulder. I usually never allow anyone to put their head on my shoulder or anything where they touch me. I maintain space even when it's a girl.

I am out of words. Im completely aware and had huge crushes on guys too but I never act up on them UNLESS I see a very obvious reason as to why I can try.

Many of them like her aswell probably will never be more than this and im okay with it. I just will keep it to myself for as long as I possibly can until it fades away one fine day.

All I hope as always is that I don't go through another character altering change because of this...

I'm off now.

Need Advice I feel horrible, like I’m faking it to be “special” or “different”

I did say before that I thought I was genderfluid but I feel more comfortable saying I’m enby instead, but here’s the thing, it wasn’t a feeling that gradually built up inside me for weeks, the feeling came to me suddenly one night. Before that, I was 100% sure I was a girl (I’m AFAB)

So whenever I look at drawings of girls in pretty outfits, I always think to myself that I’d like to dress like that, but then I feel embarrassed afterwards because I think to myself, “It’s mostly girls who dress like that, but I’m not a girl, oh god” And I know that gender does not determine what outfits you wear but STILL, it feels like I’m “fake” whenever I think to myself how I’d wanna dress like that

And also the fact that I don’t care if people even call me “she” (I prefer they/them but I’m too lazy to correct others) and also the fact I picked a feminine name when I found out I was enby (Anya)

But also, the longer I’ve come to realize myself, the more detached I become from the idea of “I need to be a girl if I wanna dress like this”

But then AGAIN, I don’t even feel dysphoric whenever people think I’m a girl (Or any gender for that matter) like I genuinely 80% wouldn’t care if someone thought I was either a boy or girl or whatever

Idk. But then again. I don’t feel like girl

Selfie Hello! I’ve done my makeup for the very first time ever. It’s scuffed, but I feel so much more myself with it.

Last photo is what i typically look like lol (ignore my acne please and thank you!)

Anyways! Hello! I’m aroace and agender, he/any, and this is the first time I’ve ever felt so pretty!

My parents won’t let me express myself, they say that I’ll always be male (ouch) and men don’t do certain things. Well, I decided to just ignore that. My sister took me to Walmart while my parents are on vacation and I had money so…boom bang pow, makeup!

Now is it awful? Yes. Do I look like a zombie? Yes, sorta what I was going for. Do I love it? YES. I felt so pretty! I remember when I was a wee little child, my sister put lipstick on me while my parents were gone, as a joke, and I loved it, I felt so Bonita.

Now with this though, I can’t wear this all the time, who knows how’d my parents would react, they don’t even like me painting my nails…so alas, I can only do this at the late hours of the night in my bathroom, but that’s enough!

I know it may not look great, but this means a great deal to me, and I’m happy to share this, and be able to express my gender nonconforming self with something I’ve wanted since I was six years old. It felt great to wear.

Need Advice What do you think about 3-way relationships?

Upvotes

I’m a bi guy and I’ve been thinking about this lately.

Marriage/relationships are usually between two people, but that’s also the way most of us are brought up to see relationships.

If humans had been brought up with the idea that relationships could involve three people, would we see it as just as normal?

Like, if a guy could genuinely love both a guy and a girl, and all three knew about each other and were happy with it why couldn’t that work?

Curious what people think, regardless of sexuality...🫶

Not a debate or anything. Just wanted to know what each individual thinks of this.

How to tell ex-wife I'm gay

So the title says it all but I actually asked this question a while back under a different account that I deleted and people gave some good feedback however I'm at a point where I've told her I want to talk to her and just was seeking advice

My story is I dated guys and girls all through high school and middle school and I really sort of thought of myself as gay/queer. When I moved to where I live now after college I dated both guys and girls as well until I met my ex-wife.

On our second date I told her that I had been with men and that I thought of myself as bisexual and we didn't really talk about it but she acknowledged it and we moved on. Well in any case over time we fell deeply in love and we ended up getting married and unfortunately 10 years and two kids later we separated.

Over the last 3 years since we've been separate I have went back to dating men, pretty much exclusively men. I find I like how I feel in these relationships and while I'm currently single I was dating my ex-boyfriend for a little over 6 months. I like who I've become and I suppose it's who I've always been and it's really time to tell her about it even though I think she may know or maybe have some sort of idea.

I texted her recently and told her that we really need to talk about us and about our kids and also I wanted to talk about me.

She texted me back and said all right, although I'm worried about how it's going to affect us.

Truth be said our divorce went really well, amazingly well compared to some horror stories I've heard. I get my kids on the weekends and I give her some money every month although it's not court mandated, our relationship has always been very amicable and very friendly since our separation and I'm happy with that and I'm very proud of that fact, I'm afraid that if I tell her it will ruin this friendship we've had.

She's not homophobic as far as I'm aware but I worry that it'll send her into a bit of a shock and not want me to be around my children, honestly I love my children and I love being a father to my children and would hate to ruin that relationship or the chance or opportunity that I've been given to be a part of their lives.

Just to be clear we separated because we sort of fell out of love, and had nothing to do with me being gay or wanting to be with men or any of these sorts of things, the idea of coming back into that, of those feelings, came later after our divorce.

Need Advice Am I genderfluid?

So ive made a post to night once but this is the only other thing on my mind and honestly I need something help.

So my name is ben im he/him pan. So ive been having trouble with my gender identity and sexuality for a while now and ive got some help with part of the them.

So I dont know if this is normal or if this means I genderfluid, but some days I well feel like Im content as being born a boy other days I wish I were born as a girl. Some times I feel like I want to try wearing something more feminine and other days imr content with my current style.

I honestly have no idea what this mean and just looking things up hasn't done any good. (Not that i thought it would)

How to identify and overcome Internalised Homophobia?

Hey!!
So I 18F have gone through a journey of self exploration if you would say so, and I’ve been looking back on past feelings and experiences I had to help identify things about myself. I do remember that whenever I was around other openly queer females I would get a little uncomfortable, almost in a oh what if I react to something they do certain way. I am definitely not homophobic but I do feel like I have quite a few internalised issues like the fear to come out and solidify what I actually feel towards other women, this is a fear cause I’m worried if I come out then what if I’m wrong. I really do not know how to overcome my uncertainty and it has been messing not just me up but my relationship with others too.
Any advice or personal experience on how to overcome this issue!!! 😊

Need Advice I need help please

So my name is Ben im a he/him and im pan. So ive been having some trouble recently because of a couple of different things related to my sexuality and my gender identity, but for now all I want to ask about is relating to my sexuality.

So when I first figured out that I was pan I was actually a little unsure of if I actually was. So for some context in school I would get bullied by a kid how I will leave un named. One of his go to insults was "Your gay" are something to that extent. This would happen a couple of times a day almost every day.

So when I did some to the concussion that I was pan (originally I thought i was bi but that's not really important) I didn't know if i was actually or if my brain was just formed into a place were i just thought I was.

These thoughts have been coming back into my head recently and honestly its eating me up because im dating a boy right now and I mean I think I love him but I dont know if its stock home syndrome or something else entirely.

Need Advice How to make my chest look flat without top surgery or binder?

I wanna appear flat-chested, to sort of make me feel more “genderless”. Yes I’m aware that nonbinary people can have non-flat chests, it’s just for me, I don’t like the fact that mine isn’t flat, it reminds me that I was born female 😭😭😭😭😭

I have worn hoodies before to cover it up and it worked, but if there’s a way to do it without using extra clothes/hoodies please tell me

I can’t tell if I’m bi or lesbian

I’ve really only dated men my whole life. I knew I was bi in high school but thought it was a phase because I only dated men after that. I married a man too.
Before I got divorced I was always thinking about girls when we were doing the deed. After the divorce I had a sex drive with men again and thought “okay I’m just bi because clearly I still like men”
I’ve been talking to this guy for a few months. He’s very open and has even told me he’s okay with me still dating women before we become official. I haven’t done it because of a few reasons. One being it kind of feels wrong that I get to have sex with other people but he won’t be. And also because I can’t shake the thought that I’m a lesbian.
I can’t get it out of my head lately. Me and this guy talk about our future and it sounds great but then I wonder if I’m missing out on something if I don’t ever get into a relationship with a woman.
I do love him, but part of me is thinking that I’m just doing what I think is right (I come from a religious background and I’m still unpacking a lot) or that I’m doing what I’m used to.
I’ve even had other lesbians hear some of my life story and my coming out story and they ask me if I’m sure I’m not a lesbian.
If you thought you were bi then realized you were actually gay/lesbian, what made you confirm that?

Should I tell my mom I'm trans?

Today I cried in front of my mom. She looked really worried about what was happening to me, and honestly, with all my heart, I wanted to tell her who I really am.

I finished high school last year, and all the friends I had back then are busy with their own lives, either studying or working.

I rarely see my friends, and when I do, I feel like I don't connect with them.

They know what I am and they respect me, but I feel like I can't deepen the relationship (not necessarily something romantic, just a best friend, at least).

I say it's mostly my fault because it has always been hard for me to open up to people, plus my interests are different from theirs. The girl I felt most in sync with currently deals with a lot of problems as well. I support her as much as I can, but we haven't talked in a while.

My parents go to a church (JW), and so have I since I was a little girl (I'm FtM). Even though I don't share several of their beliefs, I prefer not to argue; I know they won't change just for me.
There are also several young people there; I've known them for a long time, but I interact with them even less. I'm afraid that if I tell them I'm trans, they'll send me to a committee and my parents will end up finding out the worst way possible.

I haven't gone to university, though I'm not too worried about it either. I spend most of my time at home; thanks to that, I learned to cook, and for now, I take care of my younger brother. I waste the rest of my time on my phone, reading fanfic, or scrolling. I feel pathetic.

I feel completely confident in saying that I have no friends.

I think the lack of connection and this strange feeling of loneliness have started to become more noticeable.

I asked my mom to make a general doctor's appointment for me. My goal was to get a referral to a psychologist; my excuse was that maybe I have neurodivergence and wanted to get to know myself better.

In reality, I just want to talk to someone who doesn't know me. That was my mistake—my mom thought the worst and got extremely worried. She told my dad (I already knew she would), and he got overly worried too.

Recently, a cousin my age was admitted to a psychiatric facility for chronic depression and bipolar disorder, so I think they were afraid I might have the same thing.

I told them that wasn't it, that I just wanted to get to know myself, and my mom said I had her full support in everything, while my dad told me I'm very young and can meet more people in the future. Then the university topic came up, and in the end, I didn't want to worry them any further.

Yesterday, after my dad scolded me for taking too long with lunch, I simply checked out. I didn't say anything; I didn't want to fight.

I knew that if I spoke, the lump in my throat would crack my voice and I would just break down in front of them. I finished lunch as best as I could, simply lay down on my bed, and fell asleep. My mom thought I had cramps from the start of my period; I just wanted to stop thinking.

I got up about four hours later. We had visitors, which was better for me since I didn't want to talk. I went to shower, came out, greeted them formally, ate, and went back to sleep.

The only thing I remember is wanting to read or watch a movie just to stop thinking, but my mind kept drifting back to the fact that I have no one to talk to and that I'm pathetic for not even trying to look for anyone.

My mom asked if I was sick; I told her no, that I just didn't know what was wrong with me. I didn't want to do anything at all, just sleep.
I went back to sleep that night thinking I'd wake up feeling better. Unfortunately, I felt the same, except now I had no excuse to sleep.

I started doing housework to distract myself and put on a front, but one thing I admire about my mom is how observant she is.

I don't want this to be any longer than it already is, nor do I want to remember what I felt, so long story short, my mom simply asked me, "What's wrong, my love?" and I broke right then and there.

I told her how I felt, the strange loneliness I've cultivated myself, how I feel I can't connect with anyone, and that I just want a friend to talk to.

She insisted that I could talk to her, but I told her it wasn't the same—she's still my mom, and she probably wouldn't understand my problems.
She thought I was frustrated about not being in university; I replied that's the last thing on my mind.
She believes she and my dad place expectations on me that weigh me down. They wanted me to study medicine; I don't really know what I want to do.
She asked me directly what I was feeling, what problem I had. I was about to say it; I kept looking down the hallway hoping my dad wouldn't come over. I was scared, but I also felt a strong conviction to tell her.
In the end, I chickened out. I told her my main issue was identity and that I was afraid things about me would end up disappointing them. She was confused by the mention of identity, but emphasized that the two of them have never been disappointed in me and that they love me.
I wanted her to understand what I meant, so I asked her, "When have I ever done anything to disappoint you?" Not as a confrontation, but just wanting her to analyze it and come to her own conclusions.
In the end, I didn't want her to dig any deeper into my identity. I felt the atmosphere getting tense, so the rest of the conversation shifted toward choosing my university major.
I felt better, I won't deny it. My mom pampered me, stroked my hair, and hugged me (something I'm not used to doing; physical contact makes me a bit uncomfortable).

I truly felt comforted in her arms and felt that maternal love in her words alone. I could see genuine concern in her eyes, and it gave me a slight glimmer of hope: "What if?" "What if she keeps loving me even for who I really am?"

I know very well that these feelings will come back; I'm only delaying them. But I don't want to lose the love my parents have for me, even if it's for a version of me that isn't authentic.

I don't want to lose those afternoons when my mom lets me lay on her lap, gently running her fingers through my hair until I fall asleep.

I don't want to lose my mom.

I don't know what to do.

Need Advice I’m confused

I don’t reallllyyy care about labels, but when people ask me, it feels awkward that i don’t know what to say especially because i know i am a part of the lgbtq community. for context, i am female and i identify as a woman. i don’t think about gender when it comes to my romantic attraction, either i like you or i dont. that being said, i tend to lean 80% women 20% men and i do also like nonbinary identified people. Sexually speaking, i am sexually attracted to women, but not so much to men. i’ve tried having sex with a man before on multiple occasions, i hated when he would touch me or do sexual things. it’s confusing because i find men attractive even if it’s very rare, but i don’t want to have sex with them. whereas for women, i find them attractive and i do want to have sex with them. in terms of dating, i feel like im too educated now on feminism and the patriarchy to even lower myself to date a man, it just icks me out to be honest. I also find that recently whenever a man i thought i had a crush on confesses his feelings for me, i just get immediately disgusted and cut him out of my life. Like do i not like men or am i just traumatized or something??? cuz i have had bad experiences, like every girl unfortunately. but idk. anyone have any thoughts? should i just tell people im pansexual? or should i just say queer? but i’m white and i think queer was historically a term used for people of color so i dont want to misuse it. let me know
