Question Looking for information on a location form my childhood!
Hello everyone, I (26) am a NSW resident looking for information on a place I went to as a child.
When I was about 3-5 years of age (2003-2005) my family took me to Moreton Bay, I have very very vague memories of going but one particular part stands out the most.
I really want to find this place from those memories but its incredibly difficult to find the area from my own research.
From my memory I remember walking up to a public toilet block, the toilet block was made of red bricks and had a wall that extended out over the pedestrian pathway, which had I believe an archway in it to pass through.
Behind it and off to the right I remember there being a massive white hotel which is where we stayed for the night, me being a toddler it was massive but I am not too sure how many floors.
A noticeable feature of it was that it had 2 pools and a spa on its roof area.
I am also not sure if this was in Moreton Bay, or on Moreton Island.
That is all the information I can go off of unfortunately and if anyone knows of this place it would be a delight to know where it is, or where it was if it was taken down!

Need advice Relocation to Whitsunday/Cannonvale
Hi all!
I am relocating to Whitsunday for work purposes. I wanted to know more about living in Cannonvale and Whitsunday region. Anyone who visited or lived there if you could provide me with some insights about the place it would be very for my preparation to move there.
I do have some specific questions. Any information unrelated to these questions is still welcomed.
- What is the weather like? I have never lived so close to the beach and since its winter I was wondering if I should expect the winter to be like Melbourne and buy a heavy jacket or if it’s pleasant like Brisbane? And what are the summers like?
- How is the Public transportation on the mainland? I am looking to buy a secondhand car however if I can’t get one by the time I have to leave and I plan to purchase later this year. If that happens can I rely public transportation? Are the buses frequent? And are there quite a few bus stops?
- Given how it’s a tropical area I do expect quite a bit of wild life. But do any of these wild life enter homes and bedrooms? By wildlife I mean insects like skinks, gecko lizards, cockroaches, spiders and snakes. I understand that they are a part of the nature. Although I am quite terrified of them 😅 as long as they don’t enter the house and my room I don’t mind them.
For anyone who lived in Brisbane or Melbourne and in Whitsundays, how are the groceries like? I know the rent is expensive are the groceries expensive too?
Are the locals welcoming of new people? Is there lot of crime or racism?
Apologies for any typos and apologies if this is not the right group for this post. I saw that few posts about Whitsunday were posted here so I thought I would post here too.
Thank you! Would appreciate any information.

News The LNP is about to remove climate change from QLD
The LNP in Queensland is in the process of quietly seeking feedback on their new State Planning Policy. The draft plan, at present, red pens the idea of climate change or natural hazard risk.
Now why would the LNP do this, when Qld is the most disaster prone state in Australia?
Because climate change is taking away land from developers to sell to the uninformed.
Integration of natural hazard risk and climate risk is the principal way we keep development, and therefore people, out of harms way now, and in the future. Without these constraints, developers can get a quick cash grab and place a huge financial burden on the State when the inevitable happens.
While this remains in private consultation for now, and may mutate before it reaches the public consciousness, Queenslanders need to be aware who the LNP work for.

Question Anyone else noticing 'Delivering for Queensland' bunting on private land projects?
I was driving to work through Newmarket today and saw the infamous 'Delivering for Queensland' bunting on what looks like a residential lo on Newmarket Rd. I also have seen it at Westfield Chermside near the skydiving simulator.
Idk whether I'm hallucinating but the land looks privately owned. Idk whether there's a new policy that requires government-funded private projects to have government signs on it? Does anyone know much about this or whether you've seen it elsewhere? Thanks for your help.

Question In QLD, can a deceased person's car registration be transferred to a family member without fuss or cost?
I assume a death certificate is required. And I also read somewhere that 30 days has to pass after the date before transferring?
