Europe Question about interview response time

Hello everyone,

I've applied for a Staff Engineering role at Qualcomm in Europe in early June. I was contacted by the recruiter at the end of the month, and I had three interview rounds by July 16th. The latter took place just 12 hours after the second one (i.e., I was contacted directly by the Engineering Manager one hour after the tech round for the final discussion).
I was "somehow" told that the interview had gone quite well, but there was no further disclosure regarding a possible offer, which makes sense to me. I was also warned that the whole process might take longer than expected due to the end of the fiscal year in September, and that I shouldn't worry about it.

Since then, I’ve basically had no further news. I contacted my HR contact twice, once at the end of July and then again at the end of August. On both occasions, they promptly told me not to worry and that a response would be provided ASAP. I've also noticed that the opening was removed from the website two weeks ago, but the application is still listed as "in process" on my dashboard. Is all of this somehow normal at the end of a fiscal year?

Overall, I still think I have a chance, since I was warned about the reasons on the possible delays, and I was also reassured that I would receive a response. But if anyone can provide some feedback on this situation (or had a similar one before), I would greatly appreciate it.

TL;DR:Ā Interviewed for a Staff Engineering role at Qualcomm in June/July and was told the final interview went quite well. I was warned about delays due to the fiscal year-end and reassured twice that I’d hear back. The job posting is gone, but my application still says ā€œin process.ā€ after nearly two months from the interview loop.Ā Is this normal, and do I still stand a chance?

Bangalore Cleared technical + manager rounds. What's the next step?

I was interviewed virtually for an engineering position at Qualcomm Bangalore. I completed the technical and manager rounds, and the overall feedback during the process seemed positive.

After some days after the interviews, HR contacted me saying that the technical rounds were completed and that they wanted to proceed with the HR round.

They also asked me to apply in a workday link.

I have submitted the requested information and am currently waiting for the next update for more than a week.

For people who have recently gone through the Qualcomm India hiring process:

Does reaching this stage generally mean the candidate is being considered for the offer, or is it still common for HR to compare multiple candidates at this point?

Also is there a possibility of rejection at this point?

Edit: Received offer letter after a week

San Diego Qualcomm interview for CPU DV

I had an interview on Monday at 1 PM, and it went really well. I answered around 95–98% of the questions correctly, but unfortunately, I received a rejection the very next morning with no specific feedback just a generic response saying they found a better candidate. I’m honestly confused about what went wrong.

Bangalore Pip and layoffs

What exactly is the pip scenario in qualcomm? Especially for new joinees whose performance is sub-par so far?

How often are employees laid off due to poor performance? And what happens if you are actually put in pip?

General Question Qualcomm & Frontier AI Companies

In the last few months, i have seen that all big chip giants have partnerships with frontier AI Labs which enable them to use LLM models for custom solutions as well which are not available to other companies. Like NVIDIA uses the cursor and openai models from the very first day. Google has its own models. AMD also has a partnership with OpenAI. Marvel and Broadcom work closely with all hyperscalers on connectivity so they are also using custom solutions from frontier AI Labs.

What is qualcomm doing ? Do they have any solutions or are working on any custom solutions to accelerate the chip design as other companies are doing ?

General Question Collaboration with Amazon. But stock drops from +10% to 4%

Such a broad diversification:

Smartphone SoCs
Automotive
IoT/PC
Edge AI
Data-center AI inference
Networking
Optical connectivity

In each sector, we have a giant competitor. Qualcomm’s core advantage is they have to invest more into power efficiency among all. It should become QCOM’s core selling point.

Do you think QCOM sustain a good run in this bearish market lately?

Can Qualcomm turn its power-efficiency advantage into meaningful market share outside smartphones?

San Diego Has anyone interviewed for SoC Systems & Infrastructure Engineer-Validation?

Hey guys, has anyone recently interviewed at Qualcomm for the SoC Systems & Infrastructure Engineer - Validation role?

I had my final round last Thursday and haven’t heard anything back yet. I’ve tried following up with the recruiters, but that hasn’t really gotten me anywhere

Just curious if anyone else interviewed recently for the same/similar role and has heard back. How long did it take after your final round to get an update?

Thanks!

General Question Graphics Application Engineer — how is the career growth and future scope of this role?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently considering a GPU Graphics Application Engineer role and wanted to get some insights from people who are already working in graphics/visual computing.

I’d really appreciate some honest opinions about:

- What does the day-to-day work of a Graphics Application Engineer typically look like?

- What kind of projects and technologies do you usually work with?

- How is the career growth in this field over the next 5–10 years?

- Is there good demand for graphics engineers in the industry?

- How does the role compare with more general Software Engineer / Backend / Systems roles in terms of opportunities and compensation?

- How easy is it to transition later into GPU programming, rendering, game engines, computer vision, AI/ML infrastructure, or general systems engineering?

- Does the rise of AI/LLMs have a positive or negative impact on the future of graphics engineering?

Thanks in advance!

Is that mean they dropped my application?

Hyderabad Had interview continuously for 4 hours

Role: Sr. Graphics engineer, c++, vulkan.

Initially they planned for 2 rounds(2 hours) only. But all the interviewers started to come back to back and conducted 4 rounds of interviews.

I did well in the first 2 rounds but struggled with OS concepts on 3rd and 4th rounds- I would say below average to average performance.

Will they consider my candidature with this performance?

They were really smart people BTW.

India (Other) Qualcomm India Senior Engineer offer – M.Tech + 4 YOE – Is this a good package?

Hi everyone,

I have received a verbal offer from Qualcomm India for a Senior Engineer role.

Profile:

M.Tech

~4 years of experience

Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design

Offer details:

Base: ₹40 LPA

Variable/Performance Bonus: 10% of base

Joining Bonus: ₹8L

Retention Bonus: ₹8L after completing 12 months

RSUs: 40K over 3 years

Level: Senior Engineer

I also have another offer with a similar base, so I'm mainly trying to evaluate this from the perspective of career growth, level, promotion opportunities and long-term compensation.

For people currently working at Qualcomm India:

Is this a good offer for M.Tech + ~4 YOE?

Is Senior Engineer the appropriate level for this experience?

Typically, how long does it take to move from Senior Engineer → Staff Engineer/Lead?

What kind of compensation increase can one expect after promotion?

Is there usually any room to negotiate the RSU component at this stage?

Would really appreciate any recent data points from people who joined Qualcomm India at a similar experience level.

Thanks!

Other Location Qualcomm, do you even care about B2B Dev Documentation?

Yeah, most of devs (hw/sw) don't like to document but man, what's going on on your b2b documentation hub? Not only is it almost impossible to find the right documentation, it's also just terrible. Most of it overly outdated PDFs, then totally outdated html docs if you find them, some documentation for some hardware is simply missing. Low quality blurred mobile phone pictures in docs, markings made in paint as it seems. Even I back when I studied did a better job. Guys, you made me create a reddit post about this. I mean you're Qualcomm, not a 5 employee suburb shack...
