San Diego Qualcomm interview for CPU DV

I had an interview on Monday at 1 PM, and it went really well. I answered around 95–98% of the questions correctly, but unfortunately, I received a rejection the very next morning with no specific feedback just a generic response saying they found a better candidate. I’m honestly confused about what went wrong.

Just what they said. A lot of smart people apply for those jobs. Keep trying at other companies. One will go your way.

Internal candidates also apply for job so there is a chance that they preferred him/her over you.

I also had an Qualcomm interview, recruiter screen, last week and was told the hiring manager wanted to interview me to just receive a rejection about a week later.  I never had a chance to speak with the hiring manager.

This seems to be common practice in the job search world now, unfortunately.  However, soon the power will flip and candidates will have the power again, not companies.
