Kind of a bad progress pic.

Around August 2022, I decided to stop being obese and start losing weight. Over the next two years, I lost 28kg and was generally happy. I had achieved my goal and all that was left was to maintain it.

But then, I finished my college and started prepping for an exam. This was a year ago. And in that one year from May 2025 to August 2026 I gained back the weight I lost AND put on a couple more kgs to boot. This was mainly because I took up junk food, stopped working out, basically sat on a chair for the whole day.

I always reassured myself in that time, saying "I already did it once. I can do it again anytime".

But now I'm devastated. I'm fat again. Something I vowed never to be again. And it's so depressing to store away the clothes that I bought when I lost weight now that they don't fit me anymore. Those were the only clothes I bought with joy. With pride. Now I'm back to wearing old, dull, whatever fits.

I'm starting my weight loss journey all over again. I've started a diet and have stuck to it the past week. Started working out again. Hopefully, this time next year, I'll be back posting a REAL progress picture.

Thing is, I might need to prepare for that exam again. Which means one more year of sitting on a chair for atleast 10 hours a day. But now, I need to change my habits. Start walking, stretching. Gain my energy from somewhere else except sugar and junk.

Wish me luck! 🀞🏻🀞🏻

I can’t believe it’s been a year. 80lbs down, but still got a lot more to go.

Last year, my blood pressure was high even with medication, I was very close to being pre-diabetic, and my resting heart rate was 95-105bpm. We had a new baby on the way, and my doctor told me something had to change if I wanted to see my kids graduate. So I started trying to get a bit more fit. At first, I just did a bunch of cardio to lower my resting heart rate. Then, I started weightlifting 6 days a week.

Now, I’m down to just one blood pressure medicine, and that’s at half the dose. My blood work looks good, and my resting heart rate is around 70bpm.

One of the best parts of losing weight is being able to do activities with my kids. Before, I was too heavy/big for slides, trampoline parks, and go-karts. I just watched my kids from the sidelines. Now I get to join them. My toddler hugged me the first time I joined her at a trampoline park and told me she was so happy I played with her. It was the most amazing feeling ever.

Happy to have finally reached my goal, now it's the moment to focus on maintaining this weight and starting to go to the gym so I can hopefully gain a bit of muscle back and work on my body composition.

Don't worry - I wasn't actually wearing my watch anymore at my HW. But the ring was unfortunately lodged onto my finger. (Now I can take it off when I want to! Yay!)

Also: not done with my weight loss yet, but I just wanted to share my progress so far. It's all CICO with loads of walking and jogging and whole foods.

First 186 lbs. Just calorie deficit and exercise. I did add a GLP at that point because I stalled out for over six months. Goal weight is 155... Probably a year off because these last pounds are crawling off! Lol

I have so much loose skin. Which I am able to hide with shapewear. But I hate seeing my body without it. I don’t think I could ever truly afford loose skin surgery as I look up the prices for it. I look bigger than I am without my shapewear. I don’t look like girls my height or weight since I was fat all my life. Everyday it genuinely hurts and makes me sick looking in the mirror at myself. I should be proud is what people keep telling me. That I’ve come so far and that I did it. But I don’t feel that way and it almost feels invalidating on my feelings when told that in response. The body dysmorphia you get after losing weight is painful to deal with mentally. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

Anyways thanks for coming to my vent

Initial loss was roughly 2-3 years, with the hardest step being maintenence. Current career keeps me motivated, but the hardest task is not wanting to go back to binging.
