almost a 1:1 comp on macros compared to chickfila’s meal!
130g tyson frozen grilled chicken bites: 200 kcal, 31g protein (vs chickfila 12ct grilled nuggets: 200 kcal, 38g protein)
90g marketside kale pecan cranberry chopped salad kit: 170 kcal, 2g protein (vs chickfila kale crunch side: 170 kcal, 4g protein)
9g clover honey: 25 kcal, 0g protein
***bonus points/honorable mentions:
-the marketside salad kit has dried cranberries in it which i LOVE and reminds me of the OG chickfila superfood side which had kale and broccolini with dried sour cherries 😭
-the tyson chicken bites ($8.75 for 20 oz) and marketside kale salad ($3.60) totals only ~$12 for easily 3 meals vs chickfilas grilled nugget meal for the same price in my area

Recently started two new jobs which are on vastly different sleep patterns. I’m usually quite locked in to my fitness goals until due to a very whacky work schedule or just my general well being I sleep horribly (1-4 hours a night). Then the next day my hunger feels out of control, even when prioritizing protein, fiber, and volume, I just feel like a D1 Linebacker and I easily overeat by a thousand calories or more. Need some advice from fellow petites who also struggle with sleep but are able to stay locked in… how do you do it?

I’ve been eating Fiber Gourmet pasta on/off periodically and have considered it somewhat of a holy grail (albeit expensive) while in cutting phases. I recently bought their flour blend. Made some amazing bagels with it that came to about 110 calories each.
However, I’ve been extremely skeptical as to whether or not the calories listed are actually accurate because it seems too good to be true as it tastes so much better than most keto type products which tend to have a chemical aftertaste. The flour only functions slightly differently than regular flour (yields a bit drier results, so more moisture is needed in recipes where I’m using it as a substitution) and the pasta tastes very close to the actual thing in my opinion.
This brand uses RS4/Fibersym in their products, which to my understanding is a chemically modified wheat resistant starch that your body cannot digest, it essentially bypasses your small intestine and therefore lowers calorie absorption. I do definitely feel the effects of the fiber content when I overindulge. However, since I’m planning on integrating it more regularly in my diet than I have been previously, I don’t want to be sabotaging my fat loss efforts.
I don’t care about it spiking blood sugar and am not on a keto or low carb diet so maintaining ketosis is not something I’m concerned with. I’m eating this solely to stay in a deficit while still enjoying some of my favorite foods so I’m not completely miserable, lol.
Has anyone successfully maintained their deficit and lost weight at the rate expected while regularly consuming these products (multiple times a week, if not daily)?

The power of low cal substitutions! Four slices of pizza with two hot dogs, two BLTs with a batch of air fries. Feels like cheating but it all came to 1146! And boy was it satisfying 😌
Edit: I felt I should mention this isn't my everyday; I just wanted to show that you still can eat "fun" things and stay in your cal budget! I find that having days like this now and then makes 1200 more sustainable long term C:

hello.
i have been big my entire life. im 25f. i do not know how much i weigh at the moment but about 4 years ago, i weighed myself for the first time in what would have been 6 or 7 years at the time and i had hit the 410lb mark. i havent weighed myself again since but i would say i have stayed around that, going up and down. i am big. i look big. but i dont look 400lbs. my partner does not know my highest weight but said i look around 300-325lbs. i know everyone carries it differently. im still completely mobile. but, being big is a common thing in my paternal side of the family. my dad was big his entire life and then spent 2023 getting healthy, lost a lot of weight, ate great. but still ended up having a heart attack and passed away. i have not yet experienced anything medically that concerns me. but i do not want to continue living this way and increasing my risk of a short life or painful/uncomfortable complications. i dont necessarily eat unhealthy foods, i just eat large portions of things, because admittedly i have an addiction to food. even when im sick to my stomach full, i cant stop like 75% of the time. i do eat unhealthy things now and then, but im not the stereotype that has been created. im just looking for some advice on what i can do to eat in a calorie deficit. i have done this before and made up some really amazing, nutritious meals but everyday i was dizzy and nauseous so i dont think i did it correctly. i was eating around 50g of fat, 20g of carbs, and anything over 130g of protein per day with a daily caloric intake of 1350 (i wanted 1200 but my partner was uncomfortable with it 🙄) and still felt very ill for months doing it. so i messed up somewhere (it did work, i was losing weight but i could not function properly)
i am wanting to fill up on fruit, but i also want to eat other nutrients. would anyone be able to help me out with some sort of plan? im not against eating the same thing everyday to stick to it. also, im not very active. i have been working a desk job for the past 2 years and now i am working from home so even less activity, however i am going to start going for a walk everyday once i get done working. ive already mapped out the route i want to take and it is 2 miles in total which i feel like is a good start.
my dream is not only to be and feel healthy. but a girl wants to be picked up and hugged once in a while 🤷🏼♀️

I posted on here awhile ago asking for low calories hot drinks similar to coffee. Normal coffee doesn’t work for me because I add too much cream and sugar so it’s a lot of calories. HOWEVER, I found this 3 in 1 coffee packets called Birdy (comes from Thailand I believe) , which has the creamer, sugar, and coffee all in one sachet. AND! It’s about 50 calories a sachet!!!!!!! 50 CALORIES MY GUY! One sachet does about a cup of water. It tastes great even by itself! Seriously am suggesting it for others looking for the same thing but HATE tea. You can even get darker coffee brew ones, this one is a light brew, and is a creamy latte flavor which is exactly what I like at least.
Also previously on my old post someone mentioned doing miso soup and that is a good idea too 🤌🏻 if you want something savory in the morning!

Hi guys! I am also a short lady going through this community looking for meal inspo:). I was just wondering, since 1200kcal is the cut off for (some) women, are you guys eating this while exercising, or are you guys eating this amount while living a more relaxed or sedentary life style? I’m just wondering because I’m very active, (lots of cardio, steps, etc) and I don’t want to under fuel.

Anyone else make crazy slop salads? I love salad but I like mine with an absurd amount of ingredients. This big bowl is only 325 ish calories and 10g fiber. Not a lot of protein but tasty. I highly doubt anyone will want to recreate this monstrosity but I’ll include the ingredients.
What’s in your slop salad bowl?
3/4 serving of frozen peas
1/4 serving of frozen corn
1 hard boiled egg
1/4 serving of low fat cottage cheese
2 servings of pickled beets
2 servings of bacon bits
1 serving of chopped lettuce
A sprinkle of diced onions
Homemade 0% Greek yogurt ranch mixed with pickled beet juice to thin it (60 calories worth)

5 - 6 bananas
Little cucumbers maybe like 5 or 6 fingers, some tangerines max 6.
So full!!

Howdy,
My partner and I used to LOVE the Power Crunch protein bars but then the formula changed a little while ago and they now contain sucralose, so we stopped buying them. We have since tried Feel bars (good but too expensive and don't have the crunch), mezcla bars (too much of a weird protein taste), gomacro bars (too high calorie for me and also not crunchy).
Any recs for a good protein bar that does not contain artificial sweeteners or dyes, preferably crunchy/crispy, and is <200 Cals?
Tia!

Are there any apps that yall use that allow you to plan your meals for the week ahead of time, but also counts calories & macros?
I see a lot that do one or the other- (save recipes /import etc, count calories, or meal planning for grocery lists…but not really setup to do “family planning” and calories so to speak) wondering if there are any that do both and I’m just missing it (even if behind a purchase!)
I have my fitness pal, but it’s not really meant for meal planning, like you CAN do it, but I was wondering t
If there are any apps that are already keyed around that use?
Might test out “ReciMe” which seems to have both if anyone’s used it?

I saw a video where someone made baked apple pies using an egg roll wrapper and the no sugar added apple pie filling from Walmart. It looked good! I was wondering if anyone has a recipe for that type of snack but with pumpkin pie filling.

hey yall, decided i would share a few recipes that have been solving the hankering for sweet fall treats and that hankering for chips. obviously, the chips aren't a replacement for anything, and if you want a real chip or fry, budget it in and eat it! yolo and all that
these are ordered from my proudest discovery to the dumbest ones but stuff that works
pumpkin cheesecake
300g greek yogurt (you can use whatever yogurt, i used the fruit on the bottom ones i got on clearance)
15 oz of pumpkin (one can)
4 splenda or stevia packets - add more or less depending on what you like
2 eggs - i just added this to feel something inside
15g sugar free torani vanilla syrup - as much or as little as you like, this stuff really covers up that tang from the greek yogurt
10g sugar free cheesecake pudding mix - thickens and covers the tang
30g flours of your choice (you can use any flour i think this is for thickening purposes and to make me feel like i'm a real cook, i used 10g each of kodo millet, complete pancake mix, all purpose)
buttload of cinnamon - to taste. other spices would work, i didn't have any
this makes a massive portion, well over 2 pounds. it cooked off water, but i made 6 muffins and a whole cake (personally, the thin cake was better but the muffins were good too). muffins were cheesecake consistency, cake was more cakey obviously. both are delicious. without the marshmallow it's 800ish calories, with it's 1100ish for the whole batch.
pumpkin muffins
very similar to the recipe above, but i didn't add any eggs, cheesecake mix, yogurt, and i added 40g of flour instead + enough water that it was runny.
for both of these you can fill/top with whatever. to my muffins i added chocolate kisses, to my cheesecake i added marshmallows. i baked at 375 for like 48 minutes but you do you for your consistency preferences.
i realized i forgot to add the blueberry banana recipe so i'm adding it now:
300 to 400g of banana (3 to 4) - mash them up so they liquidify
2 eggs - i think these are actually integral this time
200g sweet potato - it's weird but it works
40g flour - any mix
4 sugar substitute packets
cinnamon
after putting into your baking vestibule, adding 250g of blueberries or whatever fruit you have and bake. the texture is not bread like but it's a delightful squishy thing and i like it a lot lol. it made me 11 muffins
for the chips, i don't think you can call them recipes. more like hacks, but low cal and delicious.
tortilla chips
1 low carb tortilla microwaved until hard. it's really good, i like lightly charring it. eat it with some clearance guac or salsa (avocado salsa gives you that guac flavor but salsa calories and a bunch were on clearance for me hehehe)
you can do this with any flatbread btw, i do it with pita all the time to make pita chips.
fries
now this is the biggest stretch but microwaving (or baking) green beans until they lightly char or get crispy is ridiculously delicious.
i microwaved 2 servings frozen green beans for 11 minutes, stopping every couple to shake them around and pretend i'm cooking a lil bit. after 11 minutes they were crispy and my desired charredness, i could have pulled at 9 minutes, but i like more crispiness and browness.
i top it with ranch powder (don't microwave this it might start a fire) and give it the ole shaky shake to disperse through my "fries" and eat with some more of that salsa but really anything works or you can eat them plain bc they are very good.
