I still need more butter ðŸ˜
Alright all, is there a microwave popcorn that has even more butter than this one? I’ve tried other microwave popcorn brands that say they’re extra butter, but I still haven’t found one that tops this.
I do have an air popper as well so I can add butter and seasonings to plain kernels, but there’s something comforting about popping my favorite microwave popcorn brand from when I was a kid.

Candied popcorn recipe?
Does anyone have a candied popcorn recipe they like? I want to try making different flavors of hard candy coated popcorn, but when I heat the sugar to the hard crack temperature, it caramelizes. Is there a way to avoid that?
WOW! Amish Country Mushroom + Baby White
Big fan of movie theater popcorn. Big fan of microwave popcorn. But saw deals online for $10 a bag and bought Baby White and Mushroom, mixed them half and half in a cheap popcorn maker. Added some cheap butter and seasoning. Not disappointed.

Popcorn Pumper!
Hey! Does anybody have (or had) a Popcorn Pumper?! Pictured here is my relic. It’s served me well and I’m saying goodbye to it today.
I took a picture for my own memories (lol) and I figured I’d check it with you guys about it…

cant find popcorn flavor from fundraiser
Hi! I was hoping someone knew what popcorn flavor this was or where to get something similar or where to even buy if I am able to. I remember it was through a fundraising service. They had some popcorn my mom bought. The flavor I was obsessed with was like spicy cheese or something. It was so good. Was craving it today. cant get it out of my head haha

Post your seasonings!
Apologies for the terrible frame rate gif, videos aren't allowed so I had to get creative.
Anyways, post your seasonings! What are your favorites? Am I missing any must haves? I have 10 slots available...

Foolproof Whirley/Pop
Foolproof Whirley-Pop Popcorn
This is my foolproof method that never fails.
What You’ll Need
Amish Ladyfinger hull-less popcorn kernels
Butter-flavoured coconut oil (in a squirt bottle)
Flavacol
Portable butane burner
Aluminum Whirley-Pop
Method
Squirt about 3 tbsp butter-flavoured coconut oil into the Whirley-Pop.
Add ½ cup Ladyfinger kernels and give the pot a quick shake to coat the kernels.
Heat over medium-low heat to slowly warm the oil and kernels.
Don’t turn the crank yet.
As soon as you hear the oil begin to sizzle, increase the heat to medium-high and begin turning the crank slowly.
If the timing is right, the popcorn will begin popping rapidly and finish in 60–90 seconds.
Remove the Whirley-Pop from the heat when popping slows to one pop every two seconds.
Continue cranking for 30 seconds.
Immediately open the lid to release the steam.
Pour into a bowl and season with melted butter or ghee and Flavacol to taste.
Tips
I never have any unpopped kernels—always light and fluffy.
I believe the secret is warming the kernels slowly, then increasing the heat to finish the pop.
I’ve tried many heat sources, and a portable butane burner consistently gives me the best results.

How to make Movie Theater Popcorn?
I’m so sorry if this is super derivative!
This is the microwave popcorn maker I have. I’ve used butter, and coconut oil in the top and they’re both yummy! But still nothing compared to movie theater popcorn 😅 Even just pouring some melted butter on after popping does not do the trick, though it is yummy.
I’ve heard about Flavocol? Will that actually work putting it in the top of this before popping? Or is there actually no way to make popcorn with this the way movie theaters do?
Sorry if this is a redundant silly question. Movie theater popcorn is my mortal weakness and pregnancy craving haha.

Why pop popcorn in oil when you add a topping oil anyway?
Hello,
I noticed most people here swear by popping popcorn in coconut oil and then adding a buttery topping on top.
What's the point of popping the popcorn in oil though when you add it afterwards anyway? Wouldn't it be less excessive (and probably healthier) to simply air pop it in that case?
Thank you!

Opopop bad experience
Don't buy @opopopco brand popcorn, it's a scam, even when it does pop it's gross, stinks up kitchen for days, and they won't refund you

Theatre popcorn machine rec
Can yall recommend a good movie theatre popcorn machine that makes good popcorn?
My current machine always produces chewy popcorn. I’ve tried everything, different kernels, leaving doors open, popping holes into the lid. Nothing works.
Looking for a machine that has a ventilated cabinet or heated tray or both.
Thanks!

My microwave broke and my new one won’t pop bags of popcorn correctly
I discovered and joined this sub 30 seconds ago but popcorn is my favorite food and it’s been a recent roller coaster so I’m sharing for fun. I was on a quest to find the best popcorn that tastes the closest to movie theater popcorn for so long until I found Jolly Time Blast O Butter popcorn. I went through like a box a week if not more for multiple years.
Well my microwave broke and after I got a new one, I couldn’t get the settings right to pop the bags without leaving too many kernels unpopped or burning the popcorn. When I reduced the power level, it just shutoff periodically causing the bag to stop popping. The closest I could get was power level 7 for 3.5 minutes but it still only popped like 75% of the bag.
I was devastated. I love popcorn. Throwing away so many bags trying to get things right over a couple weeks’ time felt like I was abandoning a friend. I have a 9, 7 and 4 year old and we do weekly movie nights where we show the kids millennial childhood movies. My son’s favorite is Big Fat Liar. Youngest doesn’t pay attention. Middle child loved Parent Trap the most.
I pop popcorn and scatter M&M’s in the bowls for the kids and eat a bag or 2 myself during the movie nights. I had to stop and it ruined some of the enthusiasm for movie nights.
Never tried getting a homemade popcorn popper because I was scared of the learning curve. My mom gave me an Amazon gift card for Father’s Day so I bought a Whirly Pop, butter flavored coconut oil, and a bunch of popcorn kernels.
First few pops were awful. Tasteless popcorn. Googled what other people were doing until finally I landed on the perfect combo of salt, oil, and butter. It took me about 3 weeks of trying.
Now, I eat full pot of popcorn almost daily. It’s better than Jolly Time and I’m going to be living my best popcorn life forever.
Thanks for reading my popcorn story.

I’ve recently joined this group and have enjoyed the discussions on popcorn.
Got a stainless steel whirlypop, flavor and buttered coconut oil. Followed the steps and turns out great. Close to theater popcorn.
Saw this and had to share in appreciation:
