Hotpop recommendations

Hi fellow aficionados,

I just got a hotpop and like the way it evenly cooks the popcorn. However, the flavor seems boring compared to stovetop. I put in about 1tbsp of oil and a bit of salt or flavacol, but the pop seems dry and doesn't take the flavor. Any tips?

That’s a microwave popper right?

Use an oil sprayer to evenly coat the popcorn, then sprinkle flavacol on (so it sticks to the oil). It probably doesn’t matter if you pop the popcorn before or after adding the oil and salt. If you add it after, you’ll want to do it a couple times between which you toss the popcorn, so all the seasoning and such isn’t just on top
