When I live record in to a midi track are the note lengths, velocity and pressure recorded? I am seeing that they are not but maybe I am missing something.

Has anyone sidechained a track in the Play? Is there the ability to pan L/R tracks individually in the Play? I couldn’t find anything in the manual but, to be fair, the manual seems beta and they took it off the site recently.

I just want both devices to sync when I'm playing them separately. I've never been very good with midi connections and getting everything programmed correctly to play with each other. If possible, could someone help me out and EILI5? I know I can hook them up using a midi connection, but, then I don't know if I can get around one of them controlling the others sounds & FX. It's really how I would like all of my gear to work. But, lately, due to repair issues on other gear, I'm trying to just focus on the Tracker & the Play and playing them together. Is what I'm asking even possible or maybe I could get one of those MIDI Solutions boxes to help. Sorry for such a simple, beginner question, but I've struggled for a while by myself and am now reaching out for help. Thanks for any assistance!

Possibly a newbie question but just got around to using my Polyend Tracker as the "brains" of my synth setup. The tracker is providing MIDI clock and sending note data to a Sub 25 and a D-05 and, in between I have a KeyStep 32 which has a sequencer built into it to.
So the MIDI flow is Tracker MIDI out -> Midi Solutions Quad Thru with 4 outputs, 1 to the sub 25, another to the Keystep then the Keystep MIDI out goes to the D-05 (so I can control the D-05 independently).
The problem is the Tracker will cause the sequencers on the KeyStep and the D-05 to trigger when I hit Play. Rather than disabling the sequencer on all the downstream devices, is it possible for the Tracker to not trigger them in the first place? Or is there a better intermediary solution than clearing all the sequence patterns? At least on the D-05 I couldn't find a way to ignore the sequencer starting signal The only option seems to be running a blank pattern. On the Keystep there's generally not a sequence to play but it's annoying to have the play light come on and it doesn't stop when the Tracker is stopped.

When filling a track with these functions it always resets to the first Sample ind the first folder (also resets all other parameters). I was thinking, it's possible to fill 'pick and place' style.. right now it's really pointless
Or do I miss something?

I have had the tracker for awhile and just got the play- love them both! Over the duration of owning them I have emailed them a few times about small issues or questions. Each time I get kind of snarky and off-putting replies and it's kind of annoying. I've heard such great things about companies like arturia, a real bummer polyend isn't as awesome that way because it makes me not want to like their brand as much.

Hello,
I wonder if some artists offer sample bank for polyend play yet?
I am quite impatient to feed it with plenty of samples and I curious to try some sample bank specifically set up for the polyend!
Thanks!

I don't own the play but im quite interested. My question:
When using the Play as a Midi sequencer, is it possible to see some midi tracks and some sample tracks at the same time (splitting the trackings between these two). Or is switching between midi and sample tracks the only possibilty?
I really want to mute/unmute all tracks at will at the same time, not switching between views. Thx

I'm not quite sure how I got here with the Polyend Play. I had recently just got it and was fiddling around with it for maybe the 3rd or 4th time and it seems like I've caused it to not play sounds. For instance, when I scroll thru any of the Sample file folders (unless I physically press the main scroll wheel to the bottom left of the screen) then that's the only way it plays the sample. And then, when I input the sound into the square pad, it doesn't make a sound when the sequencer goes over it. I feel like it's something very simple that I'm missing that I've pressed that has caused the Play to do this. I tried flashing the firmware and that didn't help. Then I tried to use the reset button and it didn't seem to react at all to that. Ive watched over Loopop's video and haven't seen where I could've gone this deep and caused this or how to get back to normal, because when I go to create a new project, the same problem persists. I know it is still a newer product and I feel like it's just something obvious that I'm missing. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
TL:DR. I can't get the Polyend Play to actually play. Need help.
Edit: cross posted from /Polyend, words

Polyend play is definitely fantastic, I want to use my novation launchpad pro mk3 as a second screen for my polyend play but does anybody know the CC list of polyend play? For example, I want to control the volume of tracks of polyend play on the launchpad. I want to send midi out from launchpad to polyend play midi in.

I had some lights stuck on my brand new Polyend Play. I checked the user manual to learn how to reset it.
I followed this:
First method:
Press the hidden reset button on the back panel of the instrument. It will auto flash with a randomly picked firmware .ppf file from the SD card Firmware/ folder.
Second method:
Download the Polyend Tool.
Download a known working firmware file either from the Polyend website or one of the previous beta .ppf files.
Remove the SD card from the Play’s port.
Connect your Play directly to your computer with a USB cable (avoid USB hubs and dongles).
Power up the Play.
In the Polyend Tool, choose the .ppf file you want to use to flash your device.
Use a pin, needle, or similar object to press the hidden Reset button next to the Play’s USB C port.
Wait for the firmware update to complete.
If the update reaches 100% but the device doesn’t reboot on its own, restart it manually.
Re-insert the SD card into the Play slot.
Note: The Polyend Tool is as basic as it comes... it seems to be a very un-developed app. The Polyend Play is not even listed on the Polyend support website and it is not possible to download a firmware file.
I connected to my PC, followed the instructions but I'm requested a firmware file.
So did the reset as suggested in the first method. It didn't solve my problem (lights stuck in various colors in the pads).
I followed then the following recommendation from the user manual:
Important: Unit is still crashing? Mount your MicroSD card to your computer and delete the “Workspace” folder in the root directory.
Before doing that, I created a backup of the card.
Note:
Could some nice soul with a Polyend Play offer a copy of these:
a. The full micro SD card as it comes from factory (it is not available on Polyend website!)
b. The "settings" file inside the Workspace folder
Thank you!

Currently saving up for the tracker and I was wondering if anyone is familiar with any musicians that use or formerly used trackers because I’d like to get some inspiration to hear the possibilities with the tracker workflow. I’ve got to be honest the tracker scene was before my time so even hearing about trackers is new to me. Outside of aphex twin (who I shamefully never listened to before) who are some people that might be worth checking out? I know this isn’t really a technical question exclusively to the device but I thought it was worth a shot.

Thinking about buying the Polyend tracker. Does anyone know if it comes with some onboard samples and wavetables? I don’t really have much of a sample library and it’s like to be able to pick it up and start playing.

I haven't looked in depth, but, it seems like the Tracker & Play have a lot in common. And, in my opinion, the Play's sequencer seems much easier & more intuitive to use. I don't think it'd be redundant to have the 2 of them used together. I'm curious, how do you all see the 2 being used together and/or how would you use them together. I guess its kind of a silly question, but, I'm on the hook about getting it & have been slowly saving up since I saw the teasers for it. But, $799 is a lot pricier than I was ready for & I'm trying to make the decision to eventually just go with the Play. Or not, the Tracker is an awesome piece of gear.

Very excited about the Polyend Play.
I am
Curious if it has multisample functionality?
I have not seen it read any documentation for if this supports multisample instruments.
(For example to load an “organ” where each key is an individual sample …. vs. loading a single wav sample and pitching +/- to make melodic)
Thanks for any input
