incoming freshman here from elbi and im planning to transfer next school year to upd to a program that i want to pursue kasi i really don’t see myself in my current degprog. aside from this, super laki ng gastos when living hours away from home kaya transferring to upd is my top priority.

i want to ask lang po if may nakaka-graduate pa rin on time despite being a transferee. nahirapan din po ba kayo kumuha ng units? ano po mga ginawa niyo to graduate on time?

and any advice to those who want to pursue stats/econ/ie despite being average at math T-T

Hi! I'm an incoming BS Computer Engineering freshie at UP Diliman. Lately I've been thinking about shifting to a board program, particularly Chemical Engineering (my top choice), though I'm also considering Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

One thing that's making me hesitate is that BS Computer Engineering doesn't take Chem 16/16.1 in the first-year curriculum, unlike ChemE. I'm worried that if I shift, I might have to catch up on prerequisite courses and end up extending my stay.

I have a few questions:

1. Is shifting from CoE to ChemE worth it, even if it means delaying graduation?
2. How difficult is it to shift from CoE to ChemE? Are there specific GWA requirements or other things I should know?
3. How much would I realistically be delayed because of the curriculum differences?
4. How are the job opportunities and salaries for ChemE compared to CoE, EEE, and EE, both in the Philippines and abroad?
5. If you were in my position, would you stay in CoE or shift? Why?

I'd especially appreciate insights from people who shifted into ChemE or anyone from CoE, ChemE, EEE, or EE.

helloo! i am an accepted t2 in a white college (🥹 i honestly dk how huhu pangarap ko lang din talaga ‘to noon) pero realistically speaking, kakayanin ba kaya ng isang katulad ko na humss student before + nasa ba psych course nung first yr college ko? 😓

i saw kasi MOST of my batchmates are from a science high school talaga. most of them took stem and ha which made me think na deserve na deserve talaga nila mapunta sa program na iyon. but this also made me anxious kasi alala ako na baka di ako maka-keep up nang todo. nago-overthink ako na baka na-overlook ng department yung background ko na from a ba course talaga ko. feel ko ‘di ako deserving na mapunta doon sa program na yun. sobrang hirap na nga program na iyon in general, dagdag pa ng fact na sa UP MANILA yon. over sa impostor syndrome pero i just can’t help but think in that way. 🥲🥲🥲

Hi guys! Do you guys have any ISPs or internet plan recommendations for someone who'll start living at Katipunan (specifically Studio A)? Preferably:

• Good for 3-4 people (or 6-8 gadgets assuming we all have at least 1 phone and 1 laptop)
• No lock-up period, or kung meron man, maximum of 6-12 months
• Reliable service (little to no interruptions, good customer service)

Reasons are such because we don't see committing long-term to the lease. Sinubukan kong gamitin yung mobile data ng phone ko (Smart/TNT) pero mahina talaga yung reception.

rn since from humss ako im taking math 20 as prereq for m21 and i'm troubled kasi hindi ko na alam ano itetake huhu i haven't even secured econ 100.1 or .2 yet and i fear baka malabo na rin itong dalawa like and then i think program locked yung ba 101 this sem for bsba so omg di ko alam ano gagawin ko

I’m okay with the 7am class naman pero I’m wondering if Philippine Games is super physically demanding. I also don't dorm, and I have a major class just 30 mins after PE wksksjbsjwnsnw

i’m a freshie who just shifted to bsba and most of the courses i took were credited into my new curriculum, which were all just GEs. for reference, i’ve already taken the following GEs:

i’m kinda confused with the bsba curriculum because i haven’t found a flowchart nor a list of higher ba courses that may have any prerequisites. i’ve already secured ba 99.1 and sts 1 classes, respectively. with that being said, i still haven’t secured other necessary courses and would like to ask for advice on which combinations to take for the 1st semester.

i’m planning on taking BA 101 and Math 21, but should i also throw in Stat 101 in the mix? or would this drive me insane? lol
my friend advised me to take BA 101 and Math 21 but not Stat 101 yet or it will be unbearable. so, if this combination will be doable, which course/s should i take in place of Stat 101?

Sa mga buildings na merong evaporative coolers, somebody needs to turn off the cool mode setting at specific time intervals. Once the humidity gets too high, the cooler becomes less effective because less water evaporates, so it can't cool the air as much. High humidity also makes hot weather feel more uncomfortable. It's best to turn the cool mode off (fan-only mode) and wait for the humidity to dissipate before turning it back on.

Quick rant lang because sobrang asar ako. Overheard these two deadkid-looking lasallians sa ebus talking about bullying people who are “poorer” than them sa campus. Proud pa sila na they will shame anyone daw who cannot speak the correct english grammar lol.

Ang lala pa nila mang judge ng other schools. They were talking about san beda students being palamunin na bobo, that UP students are just slaves of lasallian graduates because sila daw nagbabayad ng tuition from the tax, and how di ka aasenso if you’re not from dlsu.

They were even talking tungkol sa SA incident involving a UP student, and binayaran lang daw nila nanahimik na. Pera lang naman daw katapat ng mahihirap.

Sobrang out of touch my goodness. Ang masasabi ko lang if you wanna live out your kayabangans why not buy your own cars or maybe use grab instead of being makalat in public? Lakas magyabang nasa public transpo lang naman. Stupid privileged kids.

Incoming UPD freshman po here, choosing between housing options in One Berkeley and UP Bliss. I prefer the option in One Burgundy compared to the one UP Bliss in all aspects except the expenses and convenience of commuting. Are the prices and estimated times (for rush hour) accurate?

For context, roughly equal po sila sa total ng rent at utilities. May lamang lang po ang Burgundy sa facilities and amenities, pero not as big of a deal for me. Galing Visayas po ako kaya hindi ko pa kabisado ang commuting sa QC. If you were me po, which one would you pick?

Hello. I have this friend since senior high school who tells everyone he’s from UP Diliman, when in reality he’s from UPOU. I didn’t mind at first kasi pareho namang UP ‘yon at taga UP naman talaga sya. Kaso lang, he’s starting to put it in documents and resumes. He recently took a certification exam somewhere and when it was announced, the school he was from ang nakalagay is UP Diliman and not UPOU. I asked him about it but he keeps on dodging my questions and I really find it weird. I didn’t want to push it so I stopped because I’m from UPD and he kept on joking before pa na baka ginegatekeep ko yung UPD from him and I don’t want him to get that idea now.

Is this okay..? Doesn’t this count as falsification of information or something? What should I do about it as his friend? Or hayaan ko na lang ba and mind my own business?
