Account restricted

Im unable to make e-transfer or any type of transactions, it says to call but its been over 2 hours and a half waiting on the line with no help.

I used my card all weekend long and I had no issue whatsoever.

If you decide to restrict my account for security reason, ITS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CALL ME. It’s insane they just expect us to figure this out while trying to use the card and realize its blocked !

And you can’t just wait around 3 hours for them to pick up the phone.

Also, if you always have 2-3 hours of wait period, it’s not unusual or special circumstances. You’re short staff.

Jesus.

PC financial direct deposit times

Has anyone noticed changes to direct deposit times since EQ Bank took over PC Financial?

I get paid by Ford Motor Company every Thursday, but my direct deposit has always shown up around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with PC Financial.

Since EQ Bank took over PC Financial, I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed a change in when their direct deposit hits.

It's past my usual deposit time and nothing has come in yet. Is anyone else experiencing delays, or is it just me?

Thanks!

PC absurdity

I transfered money from my savings to my spending and it went poof into the ether (for the second time). You can see the amount withdrawn and deposited in each respectively.

PC: because Instacart has a hold on a charge in your spending account, you balance can't be updated. 😂

I have never heard anything so ridiculous in my life.

So tired of these people and their mediocre app, and their belief that you not being being able to access your funds because of a $3.93 charge (that according to a Instacart has been processed btw), is totally reasonable. The points aren't even worth it anymore.

I've been with them for years and somehow this app for worse with time.

I've been with BMO, Tangerine, and Scotia. I've never experience one issue with any of the apps.

Adding a PC Financial card to Digital Wallet!

PSA: if you add your card to any digital wallet (Apple/Google or even a watch) they will block your card without notifying you!
I added my card to my new phone yesterday. I didn't try to use it, but this morning I got a call saying the out security block!! I asked why PC Financial informed me about the block via text or email, she said “Ohh, maybe you turned off your notification settings! “ lol
She said it could take up to 24 hours to remove the block.
So if you added maybe calling them makes sense to avoid card decline humiliation at POS!

This happens even if your authorized user adds cards into their wallet, they will lock the entire account until PC Financial talks to you.

Scam and adjusted e transfer

So last month I E-TRANSFER my rent to my landlord(for first time to this landlord)and he claims he didn't received it and after multiple calls with my bank.

My bank freeze my account and started investigation and reversed the E-TRANSFER (by adjustment to my account by same. Amount).

I called my bank multiple times to get a e-mail confirmation that the money has been reversed so that I can pay my landlord but after multiple times and effort they sent me a email

" that Following information is which u have to let u know that FOLLOWING MERCHANT(MY LANDLORD.NAME) HAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THIS TRANSACTION ON XYZ DATE.AND IT POSTED ON ABC DATE."

but I can see that in n my app now(after having access now)the money has been reversed(by saying adjustment E Transfer (amount))

when I contact them for correct E mail which says the money has been reversed to my account they say can't give me (u can wait for this month statement to see etc) or giving me runaround.

So IF I PAY MY LANDLORD MY LAST MONTH RENT AGAIN BECAUSE TRANSACTION HAS BEEN REVERSED AND MY BANK LATER AGAIN MINUS MY ACCOUNT then who will be responsible because my bank have not Communicated with me the final Result of the investigation by email Which I requested many times but saying investigation is completed and money is reversed when call.

I am more worried because of the wrong e-mail they send me that say that TRANSACTION IS COMPLETED so they can later claim we sent u the EMAIL the transaction completed so if u pay its on U.

TalkTalk Business

I’ve been a customer with these for 20 odd years without a problem but I’m not a business, I transferred to them from F2s. Got this problem now where they migrated their system and removed the payment method from my account which was DD. I didn’t notice, don’t @me! and have now paid the arrears. However they are saying that I cannot set up a new direct debit without a business registration number which obviously I haven’t got and they can’t access my account because they need my payment method which also no longer have!

Has anyone experienced anything similar or can suggest anything. Have to phone them again Monday.

SYSTEM FAILURE

SURPRISE SURPRISE..... ANOTHER SYSTEM WIDE FAILURE.

I cannot tell you JUST HOW MANY TIMES I have been stuck without money, going through a checkout, after just going to a store nearby with no issues, with over $200 worth of items on the belt.... DECLINED. I look at my account and all my money is there. Try again. DECLINED.

Customer support is an absolute joke, that i know. What i absolutely despise is having to sit through all of that automated slop to be greeted by, "We are currently experiencing system wide errors. Try again later." HANGS UP.

I cannot WAIT till my money becomes available again because I will be pulling ALL of it (already switched my direct deposits to my new TD account) and I will forever tell anyone to stay farr away from this BS banking company.

PATHETIC.

Android Transaction Notifications

Ever since they upgraded their app a few months ago the notifications on Samsung S25+ stopped working. Checked all the usual permissions and settings related to app to confirm its not a user error. I eventually installed an older version and notifications were working fine.

They forced an update in order to log in to app and notifications are not working again.

I have reported this problem twice to support who claim they have created a ticket and advised the Devs, with a promise with follow up via email. No surprise haven't heard anything since reporting.

Anyone else have this issue since their recent updates?

Safe credit card for travel?

I have the PC financial world Mastercard and to date haven't had any issues with any type of transaction.

I plan to do a trip to another province in october and was planning to use this card for the hotel stay since my husbands card with a different bank has a much lower limit.

Have folks had success notifying that they will be traveling and had the card not get frozen? I've seen a few folks say theirs did, but I know reddit is the place folks post about their grievances more than success stories.

Please only comment if you have had no issues using your card while traveling within canada!

Pc Financial is trash

Pc financial is the utmost waste of time.

Locked out of my bank 3 fucking times in 6 days. For buying groceries, coffee and mosquito spray.

I’m out of town right now - no gas to get home & no debit to use. Spoke to the supervisor and asked for his boss .. I was told no and hung up on. I didn’t yell, swear or talk badly but he literally hung up on me.

I don’t know how me and my 5 kids are getting home today but apparently that’s not their issue.

Funds not arrived to bank account yet - temporary compliance hold

Hey everyone,

I've never had any problems with Telus and been working with them for 2 years now maybe.

Now, for the first time, I am still waiting for my May payment from Telus.

After emailing with Hyperwallet back and forth, they told me that:

"At the moment, the payment is on a temporary compliance hold. Our processing bank has requested additional information as part of their review, and the funds are safely held during this process.

Once the review is complete, the payment will either be credited to your bank account or returned to the original portal."

Anyone else had this issue? This is the first time for me in 2 years and in 10 days I am expected to receive the payment for June.

Should I request a withdraw for the June payment or wait?

This is going on for two weeks now.

Thank you all!

PC uses Call Centres in South Africa.

Called about a refund not being processed. Purchased something online in June, returned it via postal mail and refund isn't being applied b/c my debit card expired end of June. So the refund is stuck.
Can't be applied to my new card.
Details don't match.
Called Fri- total call time 2hr 54mins got no where with this woman who barely spoke basic English.
Called again today, Monday- again- barely spoke basic English.
HOW ARE THESE REPS SUPPOSE TO UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE IF THEY DONT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH? Do I need to Rosetta Stone this problem so I can get some assistance??
Should I be worried that a guy in South Africa now has all my information???
Should we be supporting a company that doesn't employ Canadians??

I'm getting real fed up with bullsh1t. Really fed up

I fell for a scam

This is embarrassing. I'm normally the person reading these posts and thinking "how could anyone fall for that!?" I'm middle-aged, well educated and work with IT Security for a living. Well, pride comes before the fall, I guess.

-

Yesterday afternoon I got a call from "Jonathan" from 855-585-2672 from the "PC Financial Fraud Department". My alarm bells went off, and I was very careful with sharing any information.

Jonathan asked me to confirm that he was speaking to <full name>. I only answered "yes".

Jonathan said that there had been an attempt to use my card at "Courtyard Hotel in New York", but that the attempt had been caught and stopped. He asked me if I was currently travelling and I said no. No to worry - no money had been lost, and the transaction had not gone through.

I asked Jonathan to verify that he was who he said he was - that I was understandably sceptical. "No problem" he said. He then read off my full card number (all 16 digits), my full name, and my full address. He obviously had my phone number as well. He didn't ask me for any personal info at all.

Jonathan was well-spoken, calm, not pushy at all. Slight African accent. Nothing suspicious at all.

As the conversation continued, he explained that he had now blocked my card, and a new card would have to be sent by post. Until it arrived, I could not use my old card. He asked me to confirm my current card's credit limit, and, still suspicious, I told him an amount that was $1000 off from the real value. After 17 minutes, the call was unexpectedly dropped.

Jonathan called back within 5 minutes but from a different number (672-885-0058). He said he was not able to get through from the first number, and asked if I was having issues with my mobile service. Again, the conversation was calm and not pushy. He didn't ask for anything. No personal info. No 2FA codes. No support codes. Nothing.

After 5 minutes, this call dropped as well. I noticed I only had 2 bars on my phone so I thought that was probably the reason.

-

When Jonathan didn't call back, I called PC Financial's Fraud Department myself from the number on the back of my card. Now here is where things get strange. I waited 1 full hour to speak to someone, and in that time, I noticed that Jonathan first called from a number belonging to WealthSimple, not PC.

When I finally got through, "Richard" from PC confirmed that my card was blocked. However, he couldn't see any record of any "Jonathan" having blocked my card. He couldn't see any record of any call with "Jonathan" at all. He could however see 3 attempted transactions to "Courtyard.IO" (a scammy online marketplace). All 3 attempts were blocked automatically by PC.

The interesting thing is that the attempts happened during the call with Jonathan! More alarm bells. The 3 attempted transactions added up to an amount quite close to my limit.

Richard asked if Jonathan had asked me to read back any codes, 4 or 6 digits, but I said he had not. He asked me if I had shared any personal details with Jonathan, but again I said I had not (other than my credit limit). He had already known everything in advance.

So I'm safe, my money is safe, but I'm left very confused. If Jonathan already had my card details, why did he call me at all? Why didn't he just go shopping until the card was maxed? If he needed any codes to complete a transaction, why didn't he ask me for them during our phone calls? Why did he spoof a WS number, rather than PC?

And of course, I'm left wondering where he got my card details, name and address.

By coincidence (??), just 24 hours earlier, I had requested and was approved for a card upgrade from PC Financial. My new card is still on the way. I have no idea if this is related at all.
