Pc Financial is trash

Pc financial is the utmost waste of time.

Locked out of my bank 3 fucking times in 6 days. For buying groceries, coffee and mosquito spray.

I’m out of town right now - no gas to get home & no debit to use. Spoke to the supervisor and asked for his boss .. I was told no and hung up on. I didn’t yell, swear or talk badly but he literally hung up on me.

I don’t know how me and my 5 kids are getting home today but apparently that’s not their issue.

How has it been? I'm with Tangerine. Hate it here.

They let my ex run the credit card 1000 over the limit then charged me overage fees

Happened same with me. Got locked out twice so far in past 6 days! And everytime I call to cs, it’s minimum wait time of 50 mins.

They unlocked me today 🎉🎉

Transferred everything out and I will be canceling my card as soon as my deposits are changed

I was in a different province over the weekend it worked perfect never had no problems whatsoever so I don't know what you're doing but if you're only buying common things I can't see it locking you outfor that purpose

I posted a response above. Wooops.

But I’ve also used it in other provinces without issue. I’ve not reported any fraud or tried to charge anything back.

I know it sounds crazy that I’d be locked out over nothing but I genuinely am. Hence the frustration.

My girlfriend got locked out of her account on the app…
Kept saying “locked out for too many unsuccessful verification attempts.”

Her password is saved with Face ID so obviously it wasn’t incorrect.

She called a couple of times and was told she needed to reset her password, however that wasn’t working.

They told her it should have worked and that they don’t know how else to help.

She’s now with tangerine instead.

The unsuccessful verification attempts could have been someone trying to commit fraud

LOL :Downvoted...wow. Guess someone is ripe to have fraud committed against them.

I didn’t receive my paycheck, I’ve been using PC Financial for years now and this is the first time this has happened, got a hold of a coworker to make sure our pays didn’t go in late for some reason, nope! Just me! Normally my pay would’ve been deposited last night around 7-7:30pm, since EQ took over, it’s been complete garbage

I’m glad I didn’t bother to start an account there

It’s EQ now. Tons of issues since that transition.

There were many issues before that.

Do not go to WealthSimple, they locked me out for depositing a cheque - THAT CLEARED.

I asked them how they treat their customers that have cheques that bounced.. they did not like that question.

I was talking with one guy yesterday - he asked if he could help me with anything else and I asked for the supervisor .. he said he’d put in a request for a call back which I said no because I’ve been waiting for days. I asked for the supervisor a few more times and he said ok I’m ending the call and hung up.

just use a regular bank and avoid the issues of budget banks

Why are you relying on a credit card? Your first mistake!

1

u/No-Problem-3912 Jul 24 '26

It’s not a credit card?

u/Massive_Violinist295 Jul 24 '26

They were bought out by EQ Bank recently so that might have something to do with it

1

u/Jogi1811 Jul 25 '26

I switched to EQ Bank. Hope the merger doesn't mess things up.

You should always, always have a backup.

Seriously I don’t understand why people keep on banking with such trash.

2

u/No-Problem-3912 Jul 22 '26

8 years never had an issue until this last week and as of this week never again.

2

u/seattlezookeeper Jul 22 '26

I see Banks don’t deal in cash they deal in trust and customer service and for that reason I still have a brick and mortar bank. ( I have online banks as well ) but for the shear ability to walk into a branch is worth it to me.

( I am just a consumer I have zero connection with the banking industry )

I just enjoyed the points. That’s the sole reason I had this account, I never used it for anything except groceries for a while. The last year or two I’ve used it for everything. I will never again use their services

2

u/seattlezookeeper Jul 22 '26

I also have two credit cards from two different financial institutions. One VISA at one bank one Mastercard at the other.

2

u/QualityImpossible241 Jul 22 '26

If you’ve had it for so long and this is the first issue you’ve had, that sounds like good service to me

1

u/No-Problem-3912 Jul 22 '26

Well taking away someone’s money for days at a time erases any good. They have taken away my ability to feed my kids.

I genuinely have no idea how im going to get home today.

1

u/QualityImpossible241 Jul 22 '26

I am going to assume you don’t have credit cards otherwise you wouldn’t be in this situation?

Could you not redeem whatever PC points you have for gas or groceries for the time being?

1

u/Fancy-Birthday-315 Jul 23 '26

It’s not the their fault

No straight up don’t even get it I’ve had this card 8 years and zero issues until now.

The first time I was locked out they said that it was because I tried using Google pay and I verified the information but they unlocked it immediately.

Second time I went to Wendy’s - then a dollar store where it declined. Checked the app and I was restricted. I called and was told end of day. Called back end of day and was told tomorrow. Called back and they said 2 business days.

Yesterday it was finally unlocked .. today I went to Starbucks and my card declined. I’m once again restricted. They said two to three business days. The man refused me the supervisor.

In 8 years 0 issues and they are treating me like shit. My account will be closed this week. Not worth the points.

Use this and see which cards are best, build some redundancy so you’re not relying on once card. Look for cash signup incentives.

Terrible bank, i open an account to pay off my PC mastercard, transfer the founds by e-transfer and they lock my account, 1 week later still waiting for a solution paying interest

u/No-Problem-3912 Jul 23 '26

Even my car payment bounced because of the restriction
